I think I found another bug.  I have both Blizzard and Thunder on my Dragonite and it seams Blizzard isn't as powerfull as Thunder even though they have the same base power, the same base accuracy and belong to the same move category.Now I may be wrong, but as I trained in the Sinabar Mansion, I found out that Blizzard would often let a Grimer with some health left whereas Thunder will most likely K;O. it in one hit.

While I love MushZ for Alteraeon, I find Vipmud easier to use myself. You can use the free version no problem, it just means you miss out on msp, mud sound protocol, and most muds don't have sounds anyway, (only materiamagica and six dragons have really major soundpacks).there is also a nag message and you will need to reconnect after two hours play, but neither are a problem, indeed while I bought the client to support Gma games, from the perspective of needing to buy it I really didn't. That being said Nibar, as guitarman said, if you don't like "typing so many commands" muds probably aren't for you.

HAs anyone played these muds?

Well as people know I'm playing Alter again at the moment, however there are several muds I have had a brief look at which seem to have screen reader adaptations or which people have recommended which probably need db pages. So I'm going to list them here to give people some ideas of what to play and also get some thoughts from people who have played them. Discworld and Frandom are both going to get pages in the near future.First is lost souls: Website here This one I keep trying to nurve myself to have a go at, but then I read the wiki newbie guide and start to wimper :d.  Combat heavy, but apparently very none standard combat and hugely difficult, I also am not sure of the hole guild thing. NExt is Erionmud: Erion mud site here I had a brief go at this but didn't finish the newbie area. It looks a little like aardwolf in
  terms of progression with autoquests and quest points and such, however there are a few cool features that are different, for example a collossium to fight in where you earn prizes and a lot of unique classes and races, for example it's possible to play as a kitsun (a half fox), or a flying winged cat. Classes also include archer, ranged combatants and gaya, an earth summoning magic user. Very recent updates to this one plus they have a specific mention of screen reader access.NExt is one I know a lot of people know, Godwars ii: Godwars 2 website here Seems to have some screen reader adaptations, but the game looks rather complex, though the combat does look quite fun. What wurries me a little is there aren't any recent updates to this one beyond 2014, but that might just be their website. On the other hand, the game looks really unique, and there seem to be a lot of things to do besides combat such as customizing
  your home plane and puzzles. Actually this seems probably the least standard mud I've ever seen albeit one which will take a lot of getting used to. The game definitely has some screen reader adaptations though how far they go I'm not sure.Last is Slothe mud: Sloth mud site here  I don't know if this one has screen reader fixes. In a lot of ways this looks like the standard dicu class andd probably will be familiar to anyone who has played games like Alter before,  though in fairness to Dentin Alter actually isn't based on the dicu mud code, it just looks rather similar in the way it works with trains and practices and what not. It does however have 8 classes which include bard and monk, as well as druid and necromancer and the standard four and like Alter you can level which of them you want though once you get four to level 40 different things happen. I actually would be interested to know 
 what is special aboud slothmud, sinse I've heard people recommend it but looking on the surface it seems rather usual dicu, albeit a very very large and long running dicu.

VIP mud scripting... help?

hello everyone,I have a quick question about VIP mud. I am interested in compiling in getting a better understanding of the VIP mud scripting language, but I found the documentation to be sadly lacking in a few key areas. Mainly the use and definition of variables. I was wondering if anyone familiar with using these could clarify how they might be used, or point me in the right direction on some resources, that would be great.Also, more specifically, I am trying to trigger sounds for different combat options like being hit or scratched, or wounded etc..., and there is just no way I can have a trigger for all the possible things that might be displayed in the course of combat, so any advice in this specific area would also be appreciated. Am I going about this in the wrong way?Thanks

I'm not really sure what to think I can't think of anything different, but I've also got other places where things could be improved.I'd like to see a fighting game with more combos -- I know that battle zone 2's concept demo has sort of started with something a bit like it.Another problem is how to represent flight. TDV and such are OK but some parts are just long bits where all you hear is an engine. There's realism but there's also fun. Don't quote me on this as I can't see, but I think in a mainstream flying game, you can see the environment going past and you see different landscapes.Also what about puzzle games like tetris or bejouled? I can't think of a way to represent all of the board so you can tellif you can do multiple matches and make a whole ton of things explode.

Hi,This was a very good post.Part of the problem is the current state of sound libraries (the software kind that plays sound like bass/fmod). Finally there's something going on in that department thanks to libaudioverse, though thanks to the prevalence of BGT who's support for external libraries is laughable and the fact it's currently Windows only, I can't think of anyone using it in a project, or at least I haven't heard about it.Having a library that can do HRTF as well as advanced reverb would solve part of the problem as you would be able to tell when something is above or below, or even how far a drop is thanks to the sound of your steps bouncing off platforms. Then you wouldn't have to look at a static object list as often but you couldn't completely get rid of it.Getting rid of cameras and object lists completely is a bad idea, which something like monkey business shows pretty well as some of the levels in t
 hat game are quite hard to navigate as a result. Having sounds for almost everything can also get overwelming fast, which is why I haven't really had a lot of luck playing through the quake single player with AQ, or why the developer of Sol is currently trying to find alternative ways to show the complex platforming setups in that game.

Hay.To those stuck on stage 25-1, you have to go up to hight 300 and hit the switch.Then go in the door at 50, 100.kill the stamina killers without letting a surenge touch the metal box.After all killers are gone you can open the box.If the box dies, you'll have to exit and hit the switch again.Once that's done, go in the door at 50, 200.Do the same thing but with different enimies.Now you can open the door at 50, 0.Open the keyhole, kill some containers, then open the door, and stage complete!To Yukio, I found another bug, but this one can't be fixed in the current build.When viewing super attacker's article, the game gives an error then plays a sound.I think it's trying to play a sound that isn't their.Might be something to check when building bK3 2.0.Later!

Also, admins can not view IP addresses. Only masters. If you type /private, your location wil be hidden and we can't see it. It deletes it from the server and the server never checks for it. Also who said admins can view locations of players? If so tell me how so I can fix? about IP addresses... When ever you go on anything of course there available to the administrators or at least who ever runs it. Part of going on a game is trust. Of course I can see your IP address if I want to. Does that mean i'm going to do anything with it? No. If I didn't care about privacy I wouldn't have added the /private command. I'm just throwing all these points out there. But if admins can see a certain players location, I need to know how they do it so I can make them not able to anymore. The thing is, if I was a crappy admin and I wanted to, I could geolocate the IP address of any player. If the masters of this forum wanted to, they could geolocate your address. Google sho
 ws you your location at the bottum of there search results and i'll bet that's logged. I'm not mad or anything just pointing all this out. It's only a list of locations, no one even knows if it's you. But other than that... I can't remove BGT's ability to have a function to check the IP addresses. Hi. I've had a really irritating sapi error, which is causing anything I need sapi for not to work, Altereon included. I know for a fact it could be easily fixed with Jim's delusalex file, however it's not on kitchinsinc anymore. The wayback machine isn't working, so does anyone know where I can find a copy of that file? or else, could give me a copy of Jim's original webpage so I could download it? thanks in advance.

I haven't been able to find a version that works with iBooks on the mac, just usually read in HTML. They offer donations, but no charge to actually read think python. The situation is however different with learn python the hard way. You can read the book free of charge, and its a great resource, but that's where the pros end. It includes videos, which you can obtain access to by paying something like $20.00.

Audio platforming mechanics are indeed quite challenging to implement. Going with Reverb and 3D positioning would help, yes, but only to a degree. For example it won't help if you have stacked platform's with one above the other, and it may not tell you whether the pit your in front of is safe or filled with deadly spikes. I should really spend some time getting a better grasp of reverb in general, which diagonite and others seem to have more experience with. I wouldn't considering having a look cursor unusual though, even by sighted standards. There are a number of games for example where players are in incredibly dark environments and need to use limited light sources or cones of light to slow down and assess the environment, having an audio focus equivalent is no different.Another approach i've experimented with is Peter Meijers Image to Sound sonifying techniques, which in practice gives somewhat mixed results. Replicating the sonifier is very resour
 ce intensive and has a chronically low resolution, interpreting it also takes some amount of training to intuitively understand what the resulting sounds are trying to convey. I think perhaps, using 3D positional audio and giving the player the ability to take a snapshot of the screen with a Sonifier, combined with a look cursor could help give some overlapping perceptual coverage, creating a better experience by supplying users with more tools with which to assess their environment.

Hay.I'm not Yukio, but I do know why the game 'crashes' as you put it.It doesn't actually crash.You encountered one of the instant death events that closes the game.This is to prevent someone surviving a fall from a sirtain hight, or not correctly solving a puzzle.You see, there exists an item called the recovery ring that can appear in stage 25-3 that will allow you to survive anything that hits you and not die.By making repeated runs through said stage and aquiring multiples of said item; or having vary high stats, nothing could stop you from completing a level.Yukio has incorporated many instant death events to get around this, though I do wish he'd incorporated some kind of feedback before the game closes.To help with lifts, aquire the lift sensor by killing the securitty jet in the door at the vary top of stage 25-1.This will help you hear the lifts and platforms better.Stand at the far edge 
 of a platform and wait for a lift to come.You'll hear a low beeping sound when a lift is below a platform, and a high beeping sound when it's above a platform.You'll also hear a notification whenever a lift is aproaching a platform.Once you clear the game for the first time, you'll be able to obtain an item called the super UFO that will let you fly around the field.You'll also be able to grapple down with V.Hope this helps.Later!

This is not the case with all muds but for example prometheus has lists of commands to use like starship commands ship building commands things like that. You might enjoy muds eventually they just take some getting used too.Hth.

Will everyone please settle down. First of all, the mac version isn't even official nor have I gotten it to work on any macs at the moment. Second of all, I just want to make this clear because this keeps going around. If i've declined you for the windows testing, please, don't come up to me for the mac testing, if it ever happens. It doesn't matter what platform your on. If you've done something that clearly makes me not want you on my testing team, I don't cair if it was 4 months or a year ago, then it means regardless of what platform your on, i'm not letting you on the testing team. If I haven't responded but you don't have any past problems with in my previous projects testing groups, it doesn't mean your declined, it means that i'm still considering a list of testers. When it comes time and the project is ready, I will ask for testers.

Hello there.As provably you know (or not), i am an amateur music producer. That means that i produce just for miself, justo for the love of it and just to learn. That said i download a lot of simple libraries and virtual instruments etc etc etc... But the point of this question is this. Is it posible, is there any form of video or audio tutorial or something that actually descrives how those simbols are written in brailleform (for example, the time signature goes at x order, and is written using the dots , 1 , 5 and 6. ofcourse this might be not correct but is an example lol.The reason for this question is because a teacher asked me to learn this thing in order to advance, to progress and you know, get alittle more knowledge.

@threeblacknoises you're seriously gonna say you didn't know that was a bug? lol in no game that I've heard of with levels, mainstream or otherwise if levels go into the thousands you should not be able to beat a hidden level 5000 boss when you're only at level 100...

Hi.Well I haven't actually posted in one of these topics before but I figure now is a good time.Well lately I've been reading a lot of mystery novels. Plus I watched the new star wars movie and I really liked it except for the fact that J. J. Abrams worked on the movie. He ruined star trek which is why I was worried about star wars but it turned out okay at least so far. I've also been discovering new bands godsmack, megadeth, and some others I'm probably forgetting. So all and all april has been a good month.@Devitprater, I hope you enjoyed the dark tower series it's awesome. If you haven't already don't read past the coda at the end of book 7 it will break your heart. If you enjoyed the dark tower read cell and the stand there awesome apocalyptic stories. A cool thing about the stand is that it has connections to the dark tower series but I can't tell you about those without spoiling the stand. Also if you want more fanta
 sy check out brandon sanderson, tad williams, terry pratchett, and brent weeks.@Kool_Turk, you should really read more books. If you really read descriptions of places and things in books you really get a sense of place and what's going on. If you want fast action stuff try brent weeks he's a mixture of fantasy and thriller. Also check out authors like lee child, david liss, john case, john connolly, J. A. Jance, and stephen hunter.@Dark, I'm going to have to check out doctor who. I've heard about it for years but I've never actually checked it out. It's funny you mentioned tad williams I just found out he has a new book set in the world of memory, sorrow and thorn. That should be good. I read his new bobby doller series which really wasn't my thing. It was good but not up to williams's usual stuff. I agree with you terry brooks's stuff is so stereotypical. I could probably write an exact terry brooks story and pass it off as 
 his, lol actually probably not! What's even worse is that they made shannara into a tv series which my sister loves. I told her stay away from shannar but she loves it lol. I did use the chain sword to freez the magical ball, but Yukio has fixed that particular bug.It did; however; take me over half an hour to beet the ball.I do wondr if someone can give me some clue about how you're supposed to do that particular fight.I keep hearing that I should block some attack with the magical edge, but the darkness attack always kills me.However, according to the game I should be able to beet a lv one hundred thousand enemy at only level three thousand.I know this because the level requirement for getting in to legend difficulty is only lv 3000.Later!

I think something like the sonifier, in the sense of scanning from left to right and playing sounds for what's there, isn't a bad method to try. In my entry for Oriol Gomez's contest at the start of the month, I have a section that picks which x position to scan based on the frame (since the ticker I'm using already keeps track of how many frames have passed), then goes from the top of the map to the bottom, updating anything that needs updating. This is a pretty crude method for dynamic map elements, because those really should be objects instead of tiles, but there's no reason it couldn't be used to show the overall design of the map as well.I think the reason this sounds easier than it should is because audio games have such low resolution in general. Since most games are tile-based, and since we're terrible at pixel-precision, there's almost never anything on a scale smaller than a character-sized tile. That simplifies sonifying ov
 erhead immensely, at the cost of detail.I could try and add this to that game, if anyone wants. I might do that anyway, just to see if it helps.

Hi Gamecreator.Well I don't think you can learn braille music without a braille display of some kind. If you live in the united states, library of congress has hard copy braille music books but if you live outside the US I don't think you can get them. There's really no easy way to get braille music in fact there's no way to get spacific braille music unless you can pay to have someone translate it for you or you are studying music in school. When I was in college I went to a guitar class and I got the book translated into braille but that was because I was in college. Without braille I don't know how else you would learn musical notes because all the music readers out there are for the sighted. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help but that's how things are with braille music.Hth.
