Hi.Are you sure that there is no way around jumping and platforming? You can some times hear where your partner is, and jump in this direction. that's what the visual impaired girl I know told me. I look very much forward to hear your demo. It would be so awesome, if you either can record this in stereo, tell in which directions the sounds are comming from, or most importantly, wait to see if the partner gives you any hints on what to do.

Ahoy thereso there's a name for it,eh? didn't knew. and yes, that's what I'm planning on doing.But of course, it'll require some forethought as to which ones I actually want on my team and googling shows me that there actually quite a few rules for it to be followed, I'm seeing if I want to follow them all or not. I.E catching the first pokemon you see in a root. I don't think I'd want to go to such extreme lengths but lets see.If this only worked with jaws it would have been fantastic. because I don't know why but my Nvda seems to lag a lot on this macbookpro running 8.1 under bootcamp. it starts fine,but after a while it'll lag,not read things and so on. so if I play this game I'll have to turn all the other applications off,and restart NVDA on and of again and again which'll be a right pain in the arse.I don't suppose any of you have gotten these to work with jaws yet?grryf

Ok, mystery solved, and apparently I was wrong.When I set the theme to Windows 7 Basic, desktop was restored to the alt tab loop, but when I reset the theme back to Windows Classic, desktop was removed. It appears that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, decided that people who want to use the Windows Classic theme don't want desktop to appear in the alt tab loop.So now I'm off to see how hard it will be to put the desktop back in the alt tab loop.

Hey there everyone, karate25 here again, and I was wanting to check out the beta version of castaways 2 but I can't seem to find the latest link for it anywhere. This is just my opinion and a bit of humor..NET is a shiny turd Microsoft laid in the middle of the road during its travels about 15 years ago.I guess it was an attempt to create something that would eventually be a foundation for cross platform development, but it never took off. Hmmm, that's simple enough to be worth a shot.I myself don't like skins so I have Windows set to use the Windows Classic theme, think Windows 2000 and earlier and you'll get the idea, I have a theory that the cleaner look helps screen readers when they have to use OCR.I still had the desktop in the alt tab loop after switching so I don't think it's my theme, but re applying the theme might be a fix.

You took the words right out of my mouth. That was the one reason that convinced me to spend the money for KNFB Reader. I like that the OCR engine is right there on my device, no need to send my scans to heaven knows where, with all the privacy can of worms that that opens.The way I use it is to first scan the envelope to make sure the mail piece is addressed to me, then I scan the first page of the enclosed letter to get an idea of what the mail is and whether it's junk or something important. Important mail will be scanned with Open Book later, which usually gives me better results than KNFB Reader does.There is no way in hell or anywhere else I'd scan anything that might have personal or sensitive information with any a
 pp I couldn't be certain wasn't sending the scans to some server somewhere in the cloud.

As well as all weapons have the same sound and the same way they work. And when a female enemy dies, a man sound is heard. This also happens with beasts. I can't say now that I'm disappointed, too early on that. I hope they can fix stuff, improve stuff and add new stuff. The game in its current form is good but it leads to boredom in a short time.

At Figment, I've actually had quite a bit of success using TapTapSee to read computer screens. i was trying to figure out why a laptop wouldn't boot, and I was able to get it to tell me when Windows was loading files when I was booting into a talking PE, as well as getting it to tell me why it originally wouldn't start to begin with. Apparently the OS had gotten corrupted somehow, because it asked for the insertion of a recovery disk. I'm glad you don't need to pay to use it anymore, because it's been a really useful app in a few other circumstances as well.

Okay, here's another demo. Listen with headphones, and you should know on what side the puck is now because I changed the settings in the sounds menu. I also demonstrated that to select a team, you have to left click on either the left or the right team that is already set, depending if you want to change the away or home team. After left clicking, the team list appears, along with two graphic arrows. One of them is to scroll the list upwards, the other one is to go down. The arrows are always next to the first and the last team on the list, and to scroll either up or down you have to left click them. That's pretty easy to understand once you get the hang of it. The arrow going down was next to toronto. Hope this helps, it's hard for me to explain because I have no way to record voice and gameplay at the same time. Okay, here's another demo. Listen with headphones, and you should know on what side the puck is now because I changed the settings in the sounds menu. I also demonstrated that to select a team, you have to left click on either the left or the right team that is already set, depending if you want to change the away or home team. After left clicking, the team list appears, along with two graphic arrows. One of them is to scroll the list upwards, the other one is to go down. The arrows are always next to the first and the last team on the list, and to scroll either up or down you have to left click them. That's pretty easy to understand once you get the hang of it. The arrow going down was next to toronto. Hope this helps, it's hard for me to explain because I have no way to record voice and gameplay at the same time. *cough* The free or lower priced apps either use a server which you can never trust, require extremely precise positioning, or just don't have good ocr engines. Only exception is Prizmo, although I was using that on an ipod touch 5g with a bad camera. Kerzweil has been a trusted ocr engine for a very long time, so Knfb is definitely worth the money.

well, I have to say that I may be getting this one but not sure.  it is about time that we saw a fighting title from them.  one person said the the people who you battle sound the same.  unfortunately, this is the main case even in a lot of fighting visual games.   the odd thing I couldn't understand is why the crowd affects were not in stereo.   they had them that way in there raceing game witch I plan to get.

frankly i'd like to know precisely how one would play this when its not accessible unless one can see the screens of the game and even so, the 3ds is not an accessible handhald.   seems rather pointless.   and even if it wasn't, i'm gona do a lot more then play one game on something that is in the price range that its at.   for all of that, i'd be better off getting a ps vida.   its not accessible but it is more live and faster.  as it stands, i'm not getting either one.

Hi Dark,Firstly, turning. I think what you are doing is moving your finger continuously like in Papa Sangre. That is not how turning works in this game. To turn, you simply swipe your finger a bit, and hold it in that position, you will turn at a constant rate so long as you hold your finger on the screen. To make small turns, quickly swipe and release. To make more drastic turns, swipe and then hold your finger until you have turned the desired amount. I often find that sounds don't sound that different when they are in front of or behind you, so be sure to follow Louise by turning as little as possible. She'll never get ahead of you, as she always runs faster than you. She will, as I assume you've figured out already, automatically start moving when you get close, even if your angle is a little crooked as you approach her, so you can't go around her on accident. Not to seem harsh, but the waterfall challenge is one of the easiest deaths in the game to s
 tumble upon. If you can't get past that part, you will not get far in the game I'm afraid.Quite honestly, I have given up on these games trying to be realistic in mimicking a blind person's perspective. I don't make an effort to fuel blind stereotypes, but I am willing to put reality aside for most games, even those that attempt to mimic reality as closely as possible. I am able, perhaps more than most, to live with the fact that Louise is going to yell at me a lot to follow her, so I'll just do that. Then again, I am slightly biased as I hate trying to navigate around an unfamiliar space on my own anyway, so the fact that this isn't a maize game by trade does come to my fancy. I do believe, however, that this game is realistic to a point, as it, to my knowledge, gives you no visual, and has perhaps an unrealistic attention to detail on the audio side of things. You hear things quite a lot more obviously than you would in the real world, but you d
 on't hear things that would make no sense, such as things that beep when they normally wouldn't, or obnoxious navigational cues. I'm glad this game doesn't have any of those, as they just shout, "Hey I'm an audio game!" Louise shouts it too, but not as loudly imho. NO visuals, and this amazing attention to audio which warrants no other artificial navigation aid, both of these things I think are overlooked a lot, especially in video games. Even the sound designers who work on audio games only seem to receive credit for "good sound", nothing more or less. There are times when I hear video games and wonder why a certain sound was used, as it sounds so generic, bland, or just outright wrong in that scene, but so long as it doesn't have any painfully obvious flaws, it seems to be okay for most of the mainstream market. As I'm sure many of us have seen firsthand, many sighted people don't know how to take a game they can't s
 ee. The concept of an audio game is overwhelming enough for many. I've only heard some of the negative criticisms which audiodefense received because the gameplay was apparently too loose, uninspired, and or flawed. And as inaccurate and totally false as I think that is, we cannot afford to have such perceived problems in our games, even if such flaws are exaggerated or untrue... especially among a large community of the market. So I think the decision to make Louise as obvious as she is was a wise one, both for blind people who are not interested in roaming unfamiliar spaces "blindly," and for sighted people who wouldn't even know where to start without a lot of help which borders on hand holding. The game does get much harder further down the line, and there is supposedly an update coming out, mentioned in post 155, with a harder difficulty level in store! I will be excited to see what this does.Just a bit of a spoiler, later in the game... there will be 
 a brief period when Louise will indeed be incapacitated. While of course other characters in the game will step in to help, they only do so much, and then you are left on your own until Louise recovers. You will then be glad for her presence later I'm sure, as you navigate narrow passages which could easily have you losing a life easily.

Heh, yeah...I guess the...18+ material that people might come across kinda gives them the wrong ideas. On the other hand, you'll find such stuff in any kind of fandom, so it's barely a surprise.I haven't personally experienced any hate, but I don't really Express it in any way, so people wouldn't know it either, unless I told them.I can recommend the documentary "Furries - An Inside Look" which can be found on YouTube though. The .net framework does provide a set of basic core libraries such as "System" you can import for performing system calls. Its main use however comes from its Just In Time Compiler, or JIT Compiler. C# isn't compiled into native code when run and needs the .net framework to convert it into so called bytecode using its JIT compiler to function, much like Python and certain flavours of Java. In other words, its what run's the code you write. It comes with some basic class libraries, and its not an IDE itself but for Visual Studio to run C# code, it will need the .net frameworks JIT compiler.

The VeraCrypt manual gives the impression that it was just a graphic that turned green.The closest thing JAWS has to NVDA's mouse simulator is their touch cursor which is just a way to navigate through all the objects on the screen regardless of whether they are controls for the user or if they are in the tab order sequence. To be honest, its  easier to build your own unit.Its hard to connect cables and fit in things like the power unit etc especially in small form factors but everything is made modular.And most cables and things can only go in one way.I once heard a youtube video, of some blind guy building his own mini pc.His sollution was to mount everything he needed to that could be mounted on the main board, load the board in and such, he did say ram and stuff was fiddly and wires would need assistance at least for the smaller ones.One thing he did say was that after fitting in the psu there was little room to move and that the cable slack had to go somewhere and it needed to be done so it would be out of the way and that was hard.Building a pc is not for the faint of heart though.It can be done though.

No wonder Aprone wanted to take a break from developing Swamp. the amount of useless bickering on the last few pages of this topic are absolutely ridiculous. While I've seen worse, and probably will again as far as drama is concerned, the sheer volume of complaints, arguments and stupidity I'm seeing are frankly sickening. I really don't think anybody cares who cheated and when, particularly since, if I'm understanding correctly, most of what's being discussed happened years and years ago. Grow up, guys. I just use the command to put the mouse in the window, then move it until I get the 100 percent sound from NVDA. Also, moving the mouse isn't a requirement and it'll let you create the volume without doing so, but doing it strengthens the encryption keys.

Stop acting like children. Every time I look at this thread all I see are complaints about cheaters. Cheaters will cheat, haters will hate. Don't let them get you down. Just report the bugs. That's all that can really be done. You should all know better. If you have suggestions on how to make the game better, construct them in a calm manner. If you see someone's post that you don't agree with, don't lash out with personal hate towards that person. Instead come up with answers and compromises that you can respond constructively with. This isn't Facebook or high-school, so save the drama for the game.

I would think an OCR app would be better than TapTapSee for reading computer screens. I have tried using TapTapSee to read displays on things like a thermostat and my sleep number bed's remote. Sometimes you get what the display says, sometimes you don't. Frustrating when each attempt cost money, not so bad now that it's free.I am currently reading through the VeraCrypt user's guide, this sounds like a very nice program, but I have run across one item that may not be very blind user friendly in the volume creation steps.VeraCrypt user's guide wrote:STEP 11: Move your mouse as randomly as possible within the Volume Creation Wizard window at least until the randomness indicator becomes green. The longer you move the mouse, the better (moving the mouse for at least 30 seconds is recommended). This significantly increases the cryptographic strength of the encryption keys (which increases security).I can hook up a mouse to my laptop or enable the touchpad to provide a mouse, but how am I supposed to know when the pointer is within the Creation Wizard window, and how am I supposed to know when the randomness indicator turns green? If you run the game with newer IE versions, the jaws cursor for some reasons can't seem to read all the menus, plus there are blank spaces everywhere, no idea why.

If you can do missions because it would be so concerned about the game's restoration? The problem is not the level because I'm not weeping like some here, I do it all again. The problem is the lost 6 months, the sleepless nights to level up to get items to pick up titles and etc.

Wel I finally decided  to try this one out, and I confess I'm a trifle frustrated. The turning system in the game seems pretty random, indeed I've just used four out of my five lives on the first really dangerous thing, running behind the waterfall away from the guards since it seems everytime I try to turn towards louise she ends up behind me.  I'm not sure if I'm turning too much or not enough, maybe it's just that the turning speed is totally different to that in pappasangre,  the sound pan also seems a little odd, since frequently I turn to where the sound of louise footsteps are centered and then am told I'm going the wrong way (and yes I'm wearing my earbuds right). I'd be interested to know as a rough guess, how much do you actually have to move your finger to turn? ie, how fine tuned is the system? during the first tutorial bit it didn't seem that bad, but now I can't honestly see what's goi
 ng wrong here. Btw, I like the audio in the game and the idea behind it, but I will confess I find louise a bit irritating, indeed to say the devs wanted a game to give sighted people the experience of being blind, if someone really! went around yelling "over here!" and "on your left!" at the top of her lungs in public methinks people wouldn't exactly regard you as a respected knight, indeed much as I like the idea behind the game the constant reliance on a family member seems a bit off, or maybe I'm just analysing too much, or maybe I'm just a bit narked since I keep getting clobbered, or possibly both :d.

Yeah, I started coming across that problem last night, and figured that would have to be the solution. That's fine, I was producing enough food at the time that apples weren't necessary. In an unrelated issue, I planted flowers to attract bees, but it remained empty. Is there something else I have to do besides planting beesflowers? I can't wait until more single-player features are added.

Yep, pretty much.actually, the apple trees are more useful in single player as a source of sticks, since we can't have more than one plot of land yet. So eventually you run out of trees to chop down.

Hi all,The IOS update is still not available, so it seems. I asked @ABlindLegend on Twitter and they have told me that a similar update is indeed coming to IOS, but it will take a bit longer. Not sure if that means it's been submitted to the App store but isn't yet available for download as was the case with audiodefense I believe, or if they're working on it and haven't finished it yet.

Ah, I didn't even consider trying it out in a virtual machine first. If I feel like setting one up, I'll let you guys know how that goes. I'm thinking that, initially, I'll use TapTapSee to read the screen during the boot process so that I know when the password prompt appears.

I will most likely check out the game very soon, though something already struck me in the meantime.If the game interface is HTML, and you have access to the files, then it would not be very hard to implement basic aria support. Even something as old as IE 8 has support for the basic rols like buttons, checkboxes and lists which would eliminate a lot of the mouse emulation. Perhaps this should be something to ask the mod authors for help with as this should be very possible without changing how the interface looks visually. On that note, what happens if you run the game with a newer version of internet explorer?

I was going to try it out in a virtual machine but unfortunately I don't have any on this laptop. That might be a good way to try it out though if you can.

For what it's worth, the reason mainboards are so similar is because none of the manufacturers actually design a mainboard from scratch. Instead they start with the chip set manufacturer's reference design and tweak it a little just to make it unique.Graphics board manufacturers do the same thing.
