If I were to use a VPS like Linode, they might already have the Raspberry Pie in their data centre.Also, why are server consoles written with a Command-Prompt-like appearance? I noticed this with the TeamTalk server and the TDV server. I don't know if other games like STW and RS have that same kind of configuration, since they were written with BGT.

For those of you needing a hand with fighter combat, I put a guide up in the articles room with helpful tricks and tips.Also, SLJ, I disagree it's too extreme, most online games punish you heavily for dying, if you want extreme, EVE Online has it so oyu can easily losea a lot more than credits (which you can easily make)

It's actually quite useful. For example, if you had multiple user accounts, in Grizzly Gulch's case, each account would have its own game save, rather than one save for the entire machine. I also found the logs the Kitchensinc games create in that folder.

Hello all. I use Thunderbird as my main email client because it's open source, free, and easy to use. However, one thing that irks me about it is how messages are not sorted with regard to thread. IF possible, I would like to have a threaded view that groups all messages from one thread together. This would greatly clean up my mailbox, especially for mailing lists. IF this is not available in Thunderbird, can you recommend any email client that is accessible, preferably free, and that has this feature? Okay all. So... yeah... this claim that Sam Tupy's games are viruses is incorrect. Firstly, and I know you guys are probably going to role your eyes out over this one but... Ivan Soto is not a trustworthy source of information regarding what is and isn't in a program, as he has been known to lie through his teeth many a time. Secondly, there is no cold, hard proof, other than a virus total report which is similar between multiple executables compiled from the BGT scripting language that Sam Tupy's games are viruses. Guys, seriously, stop jumping to conclusions and check before you post, as this drama is not necessary. Thank you.

I see. Well, I learned something today. As someone who always turns off UAC on any system I use, I didn't realize that the files had been redirected elsewhere. I think that's a strange thing for Microsoft to want to do, but at least there's a way to work around it.

Ah, I'm' not really impressed, as I can't tell what's going on. It sounds like some elements from dragon ball Z, but I have no idea who is doing what, I feel like I'm listening to a section of movie where you can't really tell what is going on because there's no dialog, the movie isn't audio described, and its just sort of real quiet. I mean, for all you know, they could be eating dinner, playing poker, or in bed getting ready to get freaky.There's no conveyance as to the scene, who's where, and who's doing what. It sounds like a clip from some anime.I'd say do a demo of what you're doing and try to show it off that way, because the trailer doesn't really show me.

At Dark: basically, I was thinking of everything you said from the beginning, this time. Although I should probably get someone to proofread the script to make sure it's ... reasonable.At Muhammad: you have the right idea . I'd compare it more to BK2 than BK3, if only because BK3's platforming and key/password puzzles are more involved, whereas this game tries to be more forgiving overall.I'll go ahead and say that there are 4 major bugs to deal with, and 2 of those seem easy.The most vexing is the absurd amount of lag that happens when someone slides down a slope. This and my computer's overall uncooperativeness are the main reasons I haven't recorded a more telling demo. That, and the lack of voices means several footstep-only enemies ATM, which do not a good demo make.So... if anyone knows why falling down slopes would caus

You know what I was thinking. With a little text so you could see what you're arrowing over, or a way to click stuff, this game could be adapted for sighted use. Why adapt an audio game for sighted use? Because its important for sighted people to understand the critical nature of audio in their daily lives which they take for granted, because their vision is so overpoweringly prominent, they can't understand life without it. So, I say, if it is possible, and not a huge pain in the ass to do so, it might be a cool little experiment to try to make the game adaptable to sighted people. Of course, no graphics, I just mean, to get into the game, learn the sounds, etc.

Alright Ulices, what you need to do is simply install Mono and Aspnet on Linux. Depending on which distro you plan on using , you should look up specific instructions. Then, you can run the same executable for the server. The server is programmed in .net, and Mono is an open sourced implementation of .net. The server runs very well on my Raspberry Pi. And the thing with Linode, is running a server in-house is the same thing. Linode, as with any vps, basically matches you to someone, somewhere, who owns a machine with the specs that you specify, dedicated to hosting your server and yours alone. However, it is still just another computer, just not one that you may be paying for outright.. Munawar could've ran the server on a Raspberry Pi if  he wanted to and you could still call it a dedicated server. The reason? The only difference between this implementation, and the dedicated server, is the possibility of multiple servers. Which is why if you, as you said, wanted to mak
 e rules on a server, they would be for that server alone. If someone were to kick a user from a server, they could just hop on another one or make their own.

Can't say for sure what his dns/vps provider is, but if it has a track record of being hacked, best thing to do is to turn away from it. Blastbay got hacked years ago and responded by shutting down the website and moving to a new host that seemed to have a better track record as far as security was concerned, not before the hacker filled the website with trojans. Whether the website is running in-house off a server machine such as a Raspberry Pi or dedicated server machine, or it's running off a vps, you have full control over security. Well, let's put it this way. You have absolute control if you're running off your own hardware, considering you're not running off someone else's machine if you don't use a vps. Even on a vps, you have encryption, you can set a strong password and a different one for your login to your dashboard and one for the actual server login. I'm not saying you're entirely at fault for hacker attacks, if any, but y
 ou certainly can do quite a lot to stop them. And if you feel the need to, look up some tips on sysadminning that can help you stay more secure.

you need to kinda almost kill him first, so you'll have to fight him in his god form on the first round. Once you defeat him, use a gamanet on him and you'll catch him. That's what a gamanet is for anyway. If you somehow used yours or lost it then you are screwed. I am not sure weather normal jiga nets work on him or not, but yeah that's about it.

That's sadly not possible, yet.The 3D in this recording was produced by binaural microphones placed in an actual room. We can simulate this using HRTF audio, which you can hear in the demo I posted above in post 1920.There is much more to 3D audio than simply placing a sound, however. Things like your head, your ears, the objects in the room, the material of walls and objects within a room all shape the sound and the way we hear it. Also, sounds aren't simply sound sources which originate from a single point, but sometimes multiple points or wider areas in space. This would require immense computation power and probably a very strong computer to handle on a large scale, but these are just assumptions since I'm no expert in the field. So yes, it will be 3D, and after getting used to it I can accurately place sounds in my surrounding and act accordingly, however it does not sound as impressive as actual real life sound yet.There is a lot more involve
 d than what I just said in how we perceive sound, and I just don't think it's possible to emulate yet. I've heard, and don't quote me on this 1, but I've heard that his site gets hacked quite a few times. If you did get a virus from it, it's probably because his site got hacked. Remember, my mind is sort of faulty, so for all I know his site may have never been hacked before, but I believe that that could be the case, if anyone actually legitimately got a virus after downloading his games. He wouldn't put viruses in his games.

hi, I have a serious issue, it is kind of off the topic of this thread but it is related to this game so I'll post it anyways.I am having an issue executing pyinstaller built scripts, such as this game. I've verified that it's pyinstaller because another application built with the same compiler also throws the same error, fatal error! Failed to execute script *. Do note that * is just a wildcard in this case, the error itself doesn't actually say *.I am running windows 10 home, x64, version 1703 build 15063. If there's any way to fix this error I would gladly appreciate the help!

2300 hp is good enough to get through 25-5 if you either have a defend master or are careful about dodging attacks. The good thing about this game is, other than the clear burn, most high damaging attacks give you more than enough warning when they are coming.

That's right, I didn't think of these. The card transformation stuff could be done quite easy. Just create a new class which is now a creature, with the ability to tap and gain one mana, since that's actually the same thing. Of course this creature must react on cards which search for land targets, but this should be no problem. The artifact creatures are a bit harder though. It might be the best way to implement a separate class for those, inheriting the creature and just setting up the artifact features on top of it. Just my spontaneous ideas. I didn't take very much time to re-invent the wheel though. Since I don't plan to make such things I didn't create a nice class model for it. I don't know if it's able with VoiceOver, I never developed under OS X, but all screen readers don't implement such functions as it seems. That could be to the simple reasons that sapi developed it's own way of implementing synthesizers, which people used to build the sapi 5 voices we now use and had to have functions defined in a specification by Microsoft. Screen Readers like NVDA use several synthesizers and drivers who were developed by several other companies who all defined their own specification. Even if the Vocalizer voices in NVDA would support detecting if they're currently speaking or not, it won't be guaranteed that Eloquence supports this feature. Or eSpeak. And so on. That's probably the problem. NVDA depends on several third-party products, while Microsoft forced the developers to adapt their specification, which means that all voices assembled under SAPI need to return if they're currently speaking or not, making it possible
  to implement a speak_wait method. Other products don't have to support this feature, that's why screen readers don't expect them to exist and don't implement such a function. Anyway, i'm not sure about it, but that could be some reason.Best Regards.Hijacker

If you read through the description, you will see that this is supposed to be exactly that, a beat em up in the style of classic titles, not a mainstream fighting game. I too think the trailer is a little hard to understand, but as Cae himself said, this is cobbled together with sounds he has lying around, not what is meant to be in the final game. I think Lirin would be a huge help with sound design, as apart from having tons to choose from... he has about as much passion for classic beat em ups and fighting games as I do, so definitely knows what would help in this game. As someone who is part of the development process of this game... would love to see him onboard.

See, the problem is, it doesn't matter how low I get his hp down to with any character, he still can't be caught. I even got him down to 0% without killing him, no joke, and I still couldn't get him. Does sleep spray do anything or do I have to use stun? Also, if I have sole split, will that work? All my manamon are kind of over powered anyways, so I don't really have anything that won't kill him downright. I would use my gammanet, but I stupidly used it on something else, that electric thing in the masters stadium. Can you get anymore after that 1 is expended?

I'll admit, space combat is stupidly fun given the safe zone has been reduced, and it makes for some hilarious moments when you catch people unawares.If I annoyed anyone by blowing up their ships when they were offlinethenhere's a tip: Don't leave your ships offline outside of the safe zone. Also, if you do get into space combat, don't just sit there and do nothing. As far as I know, Dropbox has issues with files being widely distributed to a bunch of different users. That is why I chose Sendspace over Dropbox, Sendspace doesn't have any such issues. The only issue they have is that they meter download speeds to people that don't have a Pro (paid) account. I consider that a reasonable way to encourage the sale of Pro accounts.

Thank you for the reply's. So, it is possible to create a speak_wait method for Sapi, but not other screen readers? Why? I would think that because NVDA is open source that we should be able to at least come up with something to be able to detect while NVDA is speaking. It is just a very useful tool to have, and no one really once to use Sapi if they can avoid it. Is it something unique to Sapi, or is it possible to do this with voice over.TJ Breitenfeldt

Surprised that its still around, actually, and yes I was pretty sad about the whole thing becoming inaccessible with jaws and nvda, and glad to hear its back up. I recommend you have a playthrough of asasson, darkness falls, and the two mantion games.

Okay, some people will have heard of this site  link here It is exactly what it sounds like, a website where people can play text adventures, aka interactive fiction games online.The games are created using an engine called Quest, or an online editer. Despite an earlier version of both the site and the quest program being accessible there was a long period where things certainly were not. I cannot speak for the quest program or other text adventure creation tools, but I am pleased to report that at least with I.E. and Nvda, and presumably other web browsers and screen readers, the accessibility of the site and the games seems vastly improved. Okay, so what should you expect here? Anyone familiar with the standard interactive fiction games will know the type of thing, object manipulation puzzles such as get lamp, examine dwarf, hit box with spongecake etc. I do believe the quest parser is a little less
   infinite than that found in a lot of zcode games, but since there are quest online versions of several if classics like hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy I could be wrong on this score. Nevertheless, the access seemed fairly easy and at least some games even auto read incoming text. The only thing to be careful of are the inbuilt keyboard shortcuts up and down arrow which scroll through previously entered commands, so if your using Nvda, I'd recommend reading the page, hitting e for edit area, typing your command then hitting nvda space to go back to browse mode, ditto with supernova if you have automatic forms mode off (I'm not sure about Jaws though I assume it has something similar). What I will say did tickle my fancy is the rpg category, since  your traditional parser heavy puzzle orientated interactive fiction community, textadventures.co.uk has a healthy selection of rpg games and even I believe some strategy. These seem to need 
 actual hot spot on text clicking as opposed to typing commands but should be familiar to anyone who knows gamebooks, indeed I can say I was having some fun with avast maties, a pirate battle game with lots of plundering and looting and pillaging Ga! .Enjoy! I'll say I'm relieved this one has had the access treatment.

It sounds awesome, but an audio demo will explain it more. I hope it could be something new to the blind comunity, like a fighting adventure, something like bk3 but bk3 is based on weapons, not combos and characteristic, although only 2 or 3 weapons can perform combos in bk3, but it's not based on that. So I hope that this game is offering this new experience mainstream games are offering, and I'll mostly donate to this, so go ahead.

if you don't read this post in its entirety and jump to conclusions, you're a fool and deserve to be lied to.True story: I installed STW and my computer crashed promptly after that.Did sam do it?  Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait... Did he?  Or did he not?I don't think so; my computer was already on its way out the door, given that, A, it was a cheap old dell laptop, and B, the laptop had been in service for nearly 3 years, nonstop, originally had windows 8 on it and was wiped for a clean install of win7 ultimate, which probably took a chunk out of it given I'm not exactly sure I should have been running it on such a crappy piece of equipment.  I could just as easily blame it all on Sam though, and with one swift motion, I could have had the entirety of ag net up in arms against him because I've built up my reputation as a trustworthy source.  This is what people generally tend to refer to as a coincidence; I call it
  fun times; I had a fun time trying to figure out if I could get my HD to spin up at least once more long enough to like, get anything off of it, and found that I couldn't.  Silly me.As I've mentioned above, there are tons of games that are equally reported as malware by any number of antimalware tools and protection software, RS-games, Night of Parasite and mush-z have all been on my radar, just to name a few, along with useful utilities such as file menu tools, Hope for Pandora, and Chicken Nugget, the last two of which, are actually paid pieces of software.  The moral of this story?  Don't cry wolf unless you know for sure that there's a reason to.  It really is a dangerous thing to do both because you're blaming someone in the process and because you're reducing your credibility, giving you less of  a chance of ever becoming someone people will turn to for help and reliability.  Nuff said  Methinks so.

I just read your first post again and noticed that my response actually didn't hit the nail onto the head, so i'll try to answer the remaining questions here.Accessible output tries to implement a unified interface to all underlying speech systems, including sapi, nvda, jaws, window eyes and several more. That's why it tries to create methods for all functionalities all those interfaces have in common. Since sapi is the only interface which allows to check if the voice is currently active, I imagine that he decided to drop this feature. BGT takes another aproach here. You've got the tts_voice class in BGT which assembles an interface for sapi only and therefore implements the speak_wait() function. All the screen reader access functions aren't encapsulated inside a class, but inside simple functions, which can be find inside the BGT help file, and they don't offer a way to implement a speak_wait method.

@flackers: and if you asked about how much health? I would say about 4000 because of the master battery's satilite missiles. They do 2950 defense ignored damage, so with your health good luck getting over them. You can jump them, but they're fast.

Hi.I got the game to work. My downloaded file was corrupt, so redownloading the game solved my issue.I like the game, and it's great to see so many new things has been added. But I won't play the game for very long, because there aren't much to do accept for leveling up, buy new weapons and kill stronger enemies. There are new places to go when you are in high enough level, but there only seems to be stronger robots and nothing more.It would be cool to have missions and other things to keep the players entertained. I'm not sure if this already is in the game, but items on only one map which you can't buy in the store, so you have a reason to reach the different maps.In games like Swamp or Survive the wild, there are items which only spawns on a special map, so you have the reason to go there.I like the stats and a lot of other things in the game, but I'm missing the reason to level up my character and to go to the other m
 aps. Maybe it might just be me who haven't played the game enough, I don't know.
