nyanchan has a very valid point. The scripting isn't the problem, per see. In fact, it's kinda pointless -- making that accessible -- because we have visual studio for that. Thing is, unlike coding a game the hard way manually and all that like you'd do in Python or BGT, you *can't* make a game with scripts alone in Unity. That's why they're called 'scripts', not 'games'. So, really, Frastlin's suggestion wouldn't help much. The problem here is that I doubt there'll ever be a day when Unity ever becomes accessible. You could try with other game engines (Visual Studio's Gaming with C++ workload comes to mind because you can develop DirectX 12 games with it, which you can then port to Xbox if you want to with very little difficulty) but unless we all stop using antiquated tools like BGT to make games, and instead rely on tools which are still actively maintained and widely used by the sited community, the chance of an audio game ever being up to the standard of a sited gamer is literally nil. Plus, if you want your sited friends to play your games your going to have to deal with graphics anyway .

I'd like the plugin bundle.. I've always wanted to play mush client but.. I'm not sure which plugins I used..The output window wouldn't update when new text arrived.. If I was browsing it and new text arrived, it simpl wouldn't be updated..I'd have to go back to the main window, control tab again than look at the new text.

Interesting revisiting this topic now, since of course in the past three years I've changed computers, windows versions, screen readers and! Iphones. I still prefer a mail English synth and I'm still not keen  eloquence for that reason, since the English accent sounds pretty horrible and the voice always sounds very robotic to me, (I confess I've never exactly got why so many people have a thing with Eloquence). .These days now that I've switched to Nvda as a main screen reader I use vocaliser realspeak daniel all the time With Windows 10 the reaction  is fast enough, and I've found in the more recent versions that Daniel is far less likely to go choppy at high speeds (I've got him set to 100 as I write this), plus pronunciation for vocaliser has generally improved all around. I do still have a soft spot for OrphiuS alan human synth as I used it for so long, however though I have the Sam addon for NVda, i have found Orphius alan a little  quiet compared to main system sounds, plus of course since I don't have supernova installed on my laptop I had to find a reasonable alternative, plus of course  lady (who also likes mail English synths), wanted vocaliser for her laptop too.I'm a little sad that the only Uk English sapi default voice is Hazel, but still I don't mind using her for the odd sapi  application that doesn't have Nvda output as she's not bad to listen to,  not my favourite. I actually rather like the 64 Sapi voice George, though most sapi enabled applications I've run into that don't have Nvda output are 32 bit ones.ON ios I used siri mail for a long time, because for some very odd reason from Ios 9 onwards, Scansoft daniel started to sound horribly distorted, and I actually thought Siri mail was a better voice, however when checking voices on my Iphone 8 the other day I discovered they've added a few extra more human ones into the mix. In particular I love the voice oliver, who is much more a baritone than Siri, but is pleasant to hear and also comprehensible at a far faster speed, this also is nice because it means my Iphone and my lady's have different voices .I do wish it was possible to change the Alexa voice, since the default voice isn't bad, but I'd like it firstly to be a little faster, and secondly to be mail rather than female, actually some alexa skills do change the voice, I was rather amused when Yes Sire started with a fantastically plummy English voice which was perfect for a king's minister bringing problems to him . I don't know why but both my lady and I tend to prefer mail English synths in most cases. For me this makes sense since I tend to write as I speak, and I manifestly have a mail English speaking voice so reading what I write with an American synth would just  very jarring, but in my lady's case I'm not sure, - though she admis she has always had a thing about Uk English voices indeed she apparently always used to want to marry an English tenor,  funny how that one worked out .

Funny Orko, I don't think I've seen the Alexa go down like that at my end, then again my wife and I only use it a time or two each day to listen to the news or play some games etc not to stream stations or continuously, so it might be that I've just got lucky. I do notice individual skill outages, indeed some skill never work at all, which is quite frustrating.

I agree Brian, Racing is not my thing either but rail racer quite surprised me.I suspect if rail racer's development had continued it would've gone very well indeed, what with all the extra tracks and extra features being added, while I understand why Che lost heart after the hd crash it's still quite a sad thing.

I dunno, miriani was a clone of SC when it started out,imo you could call cosmic many things,but a miriani clone would be the furtherest I would call it. Miriani is a dead game with no development in the 9 10 years I have monitered it. The only 2 activities that you could do and that have been added sinse I started playing are gase atmo aquatic atmo, with the digging system already existing and slightly modified, I mean all you would see in the changelog if you were to look back 6 months 1 year or even back would be new socials being added, a few obscure bug fixes(which are good btw) and thats it.anyway,I dont want to turn this into a miriani bash,so I will stop.Grryf.

@45 How recently have you done nebula harvesting? Because, unless it got taken out since I've stopped playing, you do get enemy scouts that come in, you have to kill them fast and if you manage it, you get no further enemies for a time, if you don't kill them off in a certain time, you end up with the big boys coming in.

I wouldn't recommend it. But since you both want it, this article will tells you how to setup a macOS virtual machines. It is not focus on accessibility, though. But if you configure the VM right, you shouldn't have problem with turning VoiceOVer on. Remember, when in the Vm, the macOS command key is referring to the windows key. So, when you want to turn VoiceOVer on, you'd press Windows key plus F5.If you have any questions, let me know.

When it comes to actually developing games with unity, simply making the scripting part accessible is not enough as I tried developing one with a friend of mine. For example, if you want to make a bullet and have multiple of them scattered around, you have to make the bullet a prefab. This can't be done without dragging and dropping. Although it is theoretically possible to make multiple bullets by creating a game object and attaching your bullet script every time one is launched, that eventually ruins one of the strongest points that the game engine offers and perhaps it starts completely pointless to use Unity. Cross platform? Python or Electron already exist, speaking of Audiogame development. I admit that it'd be super great if we could use Unity though.

The simaltaneous number of enemies shouldn't change based on difficulties. Also, the amount / endurance of magical barriers are fixed. They can be pieces of dust with your single missile shot, except a few annoyingly tough ones.

Hello there Nathan, karate25 here. I'd like to sincerely apologize to you my friend for coming across so harshly. I have indeed played cosmic rage, and I have never ever had anything bad happen to me in the game, but after awhile, it just seemed like a miriani clone somewhat. I'll explain what kind of gamer I am so that maybe this'll help you understand where I'm coming from. I'm a totally blind gamer who loves to watch gameplay videos on youtube of other of our sighted counterparts playing and enjoying video games and virtual worlds, and I sit here and wish with all of my heart that I could make characters and live in just a few of these virtual worlds. Star citizen being among my top choices of dream worlds that I would like to inhabit if only I had enough usable vision. Planet colypso is my second choice. Unfortunately though, I'm only able to see light, not nearly enough to live in virtual worlds such as these I assure you. Which is why I've been looking so forward to seeing starmourn come out for us all to play. My posting about it was absolutely not meant to be a slap in your face, and I apologize if it seemed as such. You're looking at a gamer who's trying his best to talk to these developers and using what little knowledge that I have to get hold of them and politely explain our plight in hopes that some of them, like our friend Karen Stevans from ea games will come alongside us and work to make accessibility happen for us. I know this is a slow process and it'll require patients, but I truly believe with all of my heart that we'll eventually get there. I'm pretty certainly going to be taken on as a live usability tester this week working for a company called my blind spot, and be earning a good income. One of my goals with this new income is to pool enough money so that I'd be able to attend Citizen con, and hopefully get a chance to speak one on one with Mr. Roberts about just this very issue. Not saying it'll happen mind you, but here's hoping. I'm sorry for this rambling post, but your take home message from it is that I am sincerely sorry if my post came across as harsh or as a slap in the face. Have a wonderful day to you all.

Lara Stardust: a very good evening to you all. Planetoid harvesting, it has been said, is exactly the same as asteroid harvesting. Boring. well sir, I say otherwise! Indeed, I would be so bold as to say it is completely different, and I shall prove it to you. I have added a feature called anomalous finding. First, comes the introduction of the planetoid drone. this handy little drone comes automatically with your planetoid harvesting gear and is designed to clear blockages. As you are harvesting, sometimes you might hear a crack as something strange gets sucked up by the tubes, this forms a blockage. while not necessarily annoying on its own, 6 of these little bliters can seriously slow down proceedings, and 10 have been known to jam equipment. This is where the planetoid drone comes in. It's this little guys job to help you remove those blockages and bring them up to you. On Science Core HQ is a dragon called Sarah Silver Scale, who will pay you for these items. It is true, 9 out of 10 times they're nothing special, and the reward is barely enough to buy yourself a good nights sleep in a dingy inn somewhere, but there's always that chance, That possibility that the item you find is uncommon. If it is, the reward is much, much higher. Will you find unique items? I bet you will! I hope you enjoy this new twist for planetoid harvesting! As always, feedback is appreciated. Enjoy!

I'm happy to help find music and sounds that you can use for free, even for commercial use (wonder if that counts if the game is free but the system isn't? maybe it does if it's the same person doing both...) and do a bit of sound design, though I'm nothing special and I don't produce music or know much about 8bit or midi generation.Not much I know, I just really like this project even with the release of the GPD win, since that's much more expensive, hopefully you'll get more bites, maybe you could demo your prototype on cool blind tech, top tech tidbits, blind bargains podcast, the any audio network, black screen gaming, maybe ship Gortholon and Liam a prototype when you have at least two, ETC, an article in Audyssey, maybe even do a presentation at the CSUN, NFB or ACB conventions if your near by, and I'm surely missing some good podcasts and publications, so it would be best to ask the coordinators of those programs I mentioned for suggestions on others as well.That could really spread the word...

I just downloaded this game. Ocr works great with onecast on the mac, but the menus aren't actually speaking as described. I hear the announcer say main menu. She'll then describe some of the options as a sort of tutorial-ish message, but won't actually speak the options as your scroll through them.

Actually, Netflix and TED support the reading of subtitles. If you can read them in Netflix and TED but not in other apps, that may be because the videos you are attempting to watch do not have the subtitles entered correctly. Perhaps you should also consider asking your question on AppleVis, where there will be more iPhone users.

Already did, with the same end result, it failed to boot, and it's the latest ISo from Antergos themselves.Amusingly, Manjaro works  fine no problem with DD or any other method, Ubuntu works fine with DD and its derivatives, so I'm not sure why Antergos gives me .c32 errors. And yes, This happens over multiple USB sticks. I've verified the file's not corrupt, I've tried several different tools, I've even tried using two different distros to burn the ISO to a USB drivewith no luck.So, ideas?Also what's wrong with DD? I've been told to use it as it's more reliable as long as you know what you're doing that is.

I decided to write  a simple guide for Lore researching, Gem cutting, and upgrading legendary items as they are the most asked about things about Land of Livia.Lore researching and mini gameLore items are used to either unlock Legendary journal entries that you have learned in towns, or upgrading Legendary items. The higher the page, the higher the percentage of success when unlocking a legendary journal entry. There are four types of Lore items, Tier 1 - 5% Fragments, Tier 2 - 25% excerpts, Tier 3 - 65% Pages, and Tier 4 - 100% Chapters. Upgrading a legendary item takes the Tier 3 - 65% lore page and a regular item of the same slot type.There is a lore researching mini game where you can attempt to combine 3 lore items of the same type to create a single item of the next tier upon success. However, if you fail to win the game, all 3 lore items will be destroyed.I've created a mock mini game to help new players who are unfamiliar with how the game works. Always remember to equip your best lore items, as the higher your lore stat, the more guesses you will be given.For this game let's assume with lore gear we have 13 guesses and are attempting the easiest of the lore items, 3 Tier 1 - 5% fragmements.Guess 1 Rune Alpha - Rune Alpha - Rune Alpha - Rune Alpha = 1 Red marker and zero white markers Guess 2 Rune Beta - Rune Beta - Rune Beta - Rune Beta = zero red markers and zero white markers Guess 3 Rune Gamma - Rune Gamma - Rune Gamma - Rune Gamma = 1 Red marker and zero white markers Guess 4 Rune Delta - Rune Delta- Rune Delta - Rune Delta zero red markers and zero white markers Guess 5 Rune Epsilon - Rune Epsilon - Rune Epsilon - Rune Epsilon = 1 red marker and zero white markers.From this point we can stop trying to find out which markers are in the solution, as we now can easily see that it contains 1 rune of each of the following - Rune Alpha, Rune Gamma, Rune Epsilon, and by process of elimination we also know it contains Rune Zeta.To learn where the markers go we now do this. There are of course other methods but this is what I use. This isn't what you always use as there are games in which certain runes can contain more than one of a type in the solution. This may seem to be more difficult, but it actually saves you a guess if that rune is discovered early on that has multiple markers.I again in no way guarantee this will work for you, and you can even tweek it a bit to work more efficiently, which in many cases is what I do depending on the game. However this was just a very basic demonstration of one method to get used to the game as well as creating your own method.Gem cuttingGem cutting is all about reaction, rytyhm and timing. When gem cutting it is important to note that you shouldn't try to guess and time when the tone will sound to hit it exactly right while using voice over. What I mean is don't sit there and try to anticipate when the tone will chime, pressing cut before you hear the tone

how will the base capimplemented? Will all bases destroys or just the ones with low hp? And an other. Is it possible to add when a player tracks an other, and maybe 100 tiles away, it switches off the afk choice? Because i tryed to get a guy on battlefield, and after i dested his shield he could escape with an invis shield, and went afk when i was nearly 100 tiles from he, 3-5 secs before i catch him again.

Pygame is for things like keyboard input, the game window, simple 2d graphics, and rectangles if you're using int precision. Pyglet seems to have overtaken pygame in popularity, fwiw.

Okay guys, I'm running into a weird issue here. Got told to try Antergos. So I grabbed the ISO. Used DD to make the bootable ISO.Plug it in, nope, failed to load things. So.it's an 8gig stick, here's the weird thingManjaro loads flawlessly on the same stick. Ubuntu loads fine, even Windows loads fine. What's so special about the way Antergos's ISO is set up to make it not load?

@Frastlin: those are some great ideas.I've started reading Thinking Python and have a good general idea of these concepts, however I think I learn better. by example. Someone suggested I can use Chris Toth's Sound Lib library for sounds, Pygame for the game, and accessible Output for screen reader support.The trouble for me then is, first of all how to use sound_lib? There doesn't seem to be any reference anywhere on it's usage.Then, there's what to do with Pygame. If I'm not using it for sounds, I should use it for game logic?And then since this is ideal a cross-platform game, which was why Sound Lib was suggested to me, what version of accessible Output will work with Python3 while also working with macOS as well.I guess someone asking these questions should stick with BGT for a bit, but nope. I can't deal with the brace syntax and all that. That said, CodeRunner seems to do a good job at closing blocks and things of that nature, so I might not have as much trouble as I did with BGT. If I go with _javascript_ it'll have to do.

Sonus Game Console GDE - looking for developers

Hi guys,My name is Aaron Parsons. I've been working on an audio only games console with its own game development enviroment called the G D E. The project so far has recieved brilliant feedback and the G D E was even released for testing, people used it and liked it. the idea is for even non programers to be able to create their own games for the hand held console. The prototype is nearly complete (although I did think this once before). and my focus now seems to be more towards creating some start up games for the Sonus to be released with. however i am finding that developing the sonus, continously making the G D E better and creating my own games is becoming a bit much for 1 person.Ideally I would like to focus on developing the G D E and making sure the game console itself has no issues.I was wondering if anyone would like to work with me and use the G D E to develop some games.I won't lie, the G D E still has some bugs and needs further tweaks to ensure it is more user friendly, but I'm hoping i would be able to get more time to focus on making those tweaks.There is an alpha version of the software avaialble for download on the www.sonusinteractive.co.uk website. My preferred synthesizer is Eloquence using the US English Reed voice. I use it because it's the default voice JAWS uses and I'm used to it, it also doesn't hurt that in my opinion it's the best sounding voice out there.I also have Eloquence for Windows for games that use SAPI. For that synthesizer I use the US English Rolo voice with the pitch lowered a notch. It creates a deep voice that is perfect for games.

Yeah, the Echo does the same thing when you press the microphone button, my problem was an is, I don't remember ever turning off the microphones. That being said, I'm sure the Echo also turns the light ring red as well, unfortunately, unless I take the Echo down and hold it less than an inch from my eyes, I can't see the light ring at all, and since I've never tried, I'm not sure holding the Echo close to my eyes would do any good either. I am just a step or two away from being totally blind, even windows on a bright sunny day are hard to see.Alexa goes completely unresponsive for an hour or two about once a month. Sometimes you're only aware of the outage if you ask it to do something, otherwise the Echo just keeps doing what it's doing, like streaming a radio station.It is possible, given the nature of the internet, that the outages aren't because of Alexa but are because of a server somewhere along the way. Either way, the Echo loses its connection to Alexa.

@Orko, yes the light ring goes red when the mikes are off, also though the echo dot produces slightly different bonk sounds for turning the mike on and off so if  suspect the mikes are off and hitt the button you can tell by the bing whether you've just turned them on or not. I'll admit I've never seen the alexa service down to the point that it literally didn't respond. Occasionally certain skills are slow or the response time is down, but it's never been %100 off completely.Well I'm rather annoyed, my parents turned up today with my new 5.1 surround sound system and after hours spent putting up speaker brackets and cables, they're not registering my pc at all! I phoned the place where we bought them and they're first question was whether my pc's HDMI cable was optical only, which it certainly isn't, or at least dam well shouldn't be! the upshot is they're coming on monday to have a look and I tthus far have a number of very expensive bricks around my living room which I'm not pleased about, I hope they dam well work given what I ended up paying for them.

HI guys.I'm looking for a way to read subtitles on the iPhone to watch anime and other shows which are not in English.I've read that you can do that  with an app called n player a while ago I'm not sure how though.If you guys know how to do that or have any ideas, I'd really appreciate it. no but you don't need it, you can turn it on when it loads up to the setup screen for the first time by hitting command F5. As long as you have hit control G so your keystrokes are going to the VM, it will work.

this program is grate. I can find the chains using nvda with cheat engien, but the sad thing is the games using easy anti cheat, you can not access them with cheat engien to get the values, and I am not sure if SoniFight will be able to work with them either.

is it problem for someone else, after some startup redspot starts to lag, maybe because of some memory usage. Longer jump, can't skip the intro, slow reaction when i want move turn etc. For 2-3 start it doesn't appear just after 4-5 or like that.

LOL! Now I feel really stupid.What I thought was the Alexa service being down was just the Echo with the microphones turned off!Well, at least I now know that the microphone setting is persistent in that it survives the Echo being powered off.There is probably visual feedback via the Echo's light ring that lets users know that the microphones are off, it would be nice if when the microphones are off, when the Echo hears the wake word, that it produces an audio cue to let blind users know the microphones are off, but that would defeat the whole idea of turning off the microphones.The Alexa service did go down though, it was more than likely back online soon after though and only my microphones being off made it seem like it was still down.
