Hello,You will need sighted help to do this.The part where you need sighted help is at the dialog which prompts you to confirm whether you want to uninstal Avast or not. So, you go to Programs and Features, find Avast, click enter on it and some options will appear. Click uninstal. You can do this with JAWS or NVDA without any issue; you just need to press some four or five times tab. After that, the windows I talked about above will pop up. Ask somebody to click yes with the mouse. Note that it is a small Window so it might be hard to see it, but it is definitely legible. Then everything is accessible. You just need to wait for "restart your computer now". It will be gone.Cheers!

Hello,There are some times when you need to refresh the page to go back because Chrome won't exicute the command. I don't know why this happens, but the good thing is that it happens only in some pages. In some instances you need to refresh the page several times to go back. It's highly worse than pressing alt or something else.

Hi.@jsenter: Yes, either make the tutorial longer, or make an extra slow mode. I would really like if the game was turn based instead of time based. I don't get the reason for making such game time based. People with normal sight can navigate this game much faster than us who are using Voiceover. We either have to swipe through all the information, or know in which area we can find what we need. People with normal sight can easily and quickly get a full overview of the current status, how many resources you have and what you need to build. When you have got this overview, which might take like three seconds with normal sight, it takes less than a second for you to press the right icon to build what you need. When using VOiceover, even with fast speed, it can take between 10 and 30 seconds to get the current status. Then, you need to find the right icon to upgrade. Even when you are doing that, you also need to keep an eye on the time which is ticking at the top of the screen. Therefore, the time based thing makes it much more difficult for blind gamers than sighted gamers. It doesn't make the challenge equal. I'm not trying to make you change your mind. I'm just telling the difference. Is there anything in the game which makes the time based thing a must?@Dark: Thanks a lot for your explanations. I didn't got the difference between defence and offence. I saw the defence and offence text, and was wandering why I couldn't click on those.

No, Windows is not counter-intuitive. I think the tens of millions of Windows users out there who like the OS and make sense of it would disagree with you.Also: you can very, very easily disable the things in Jaws that seem to bother you. If you want specific info, there's always the manual and learning materials, which are almost too abundant in and of themselves.

Hi.I have noticed something interesting regarding the camera and navigation. I'm not totally sure about this, but it seems like it works as follows:Picking up objects does not require the camera to be totally centered at the object. It seems like the object will be picked up even if it is 30 de grease to the left or to the right for you. I have to get sighted help to figure out if it's more de grease. What I have noticed is that if you sidestep, you can step yourself into the right persission most of the time. If the object is behind you, then you can do the same after having turned around. I have to get more experienced with the game to test this, but I would like to hear others experiences and thoughts regarding this.

Wow. This is really awesome indeed.Regarding RE7: It seems like the camera doesn't need to be aimed directly at the items to pick it up. Regarding doors, you can sidestep through them as well. I don't know if I have screwed up my game on my Xbox, but this is my experiences so far. I have to get more experiences with the game to say if I just got lucky. Trust me, if you screw up the camera in RE7 then you are lost. It seems like this has been my biggest issue so far, combined with it took me a while to fully understand how crouching works.The camera height can be quite annoying. Just remember to crouch before picking up an object.I will check out RE2 in the future, maybe after I have completed RE7, if I ever come that far.

Do not use Paragon NTFS. I tried to use the program for a half year, which result in messing up all the data on my harddrive. That's my experience though, not saying this is what happens to everyone.My solution is to format the harddrive to XFat, which works much more stable for me on all operating systems.

Yes, unless they've locked down usb access, in which case that would be just plain dumb. The only people that should be doing that are corporate entities where security is of the utmost priority, in which case, sure go ahead makes sense, but otherwise, no one should. Speaking of security being of the utmost priority, if it weren't for all these underground Jaws scripts, I have to wonder if businesses would still be attracted to Jaws like they are now. After all, in this always online world, we're always keeping our eye on Facebook and friends, why aren't we doing the same for closed source screenreaders? They have the power to be the most powerful malware because they are:1. a keystroke logger2. They fetch the entirety of your screenBy no means am I saying that Jaws, for example, is actually malware. But they always tell you to disable your antivirus when licensing it as if it's standard issue. It only takes that one time to sneak in a rootkit. Again, I'm not saying Jaws is any of this, but it seriously has the technical potential to be given that it's closed source, my point being that if it's open source someone can run a security audit, or pay someone to do so, and if such a rootkit were in play they could easily have it removed. Not the case if a closed source screenreader pulled a stunt like that.Anyway, back on topic, lol.

A portable copy of NVDA 2017.3 will still work via USB drive on an XP computer.You can even preload Eloquence and a few extra add-ons to make your life easier if you want.You'll have to do some drive letter guessing in run, and might have to install the portable copy to the main drive or at least copy the folder their to get it to read the screen right, but it's generally going to be E or F.Doesn't take long though and should work just fine!

Most units accept for structures have two number buttons after the name, the first one is to build a unit for attack, the second is to build a unit for defence.So if you saw "archer" 1 2 it would mean you had one archer on attack, and two on defence. If you don't have enough resources to build the unit, the button will say "dimmed" beside it. With defence, you can pretty much just go crazy in building walls and towers, since stone isn't used to make anything else, but you will need more than walls and towers if the enemy sends a large force against you. I haven't yet got a %100 strategy, but generally I try to be roughly equal on attack and defence if I can, with perhaps a slight bias to attack if I want to get an early raid in.Hth.

WEBL Database entry, help wanted

Hi. I know a lot of people have wanted WEBL, the web boxing league to be added to the database for a while now. I've looked over the game, registered, read the help files, created a fighter, and ran some practice bouts. I've written This description, since firstly sports management is less my prefered genre, secondly my knowledge of boxing isn't exactly extensive, and thirdly I know there are people here who have played much more of the game than me, I'd appreciate any feedback, comments or suggestions of what might need to be added to the description. Bear in mind that The purpose of Db page descriptions is to give enough information to potential new players to know what the game is about, how its played and why they might want to play it. They're not intended either as direct reviews with positive/negative comments, or as extensive strategy guides, though obviously if people have! constructed reviews or guides etc, we try to put links to them on the pages for sake of convenience. So, the WEBL description doesn't need to be a detailed guide, but it does need to give enough detail to let potential new managers know what they're getting into.thanks in advance.

if you want to uninstall avast, search avast clear download on google, and boot your comp to safe mode, and run that application, and brows the folder where you have installed and then remove it.

The work would involve writing an instructional guide for blind and low vision users that is designed specifically for screen readers and braille terminals. What confuses me is the two numbers next to the archer.let's say you're swiping along, you come to archer, then you have a button that says one, followed by another button that might say one, or maybe it might be two.It's the same for knights, I'm not sure of the other units.I'm assuming it's to have more of that unit, but why have two different buttons? or maybe the label needs to be different?I like the game for the most part, but I also like to take my time building up my defenses.

I've written and deleted what I want to say here at least five or six times now.I want to start by saying that getting any commercial project to a state of completion and out into the marketplace is an achievement, especially if it's something that you've never attempted before. So, congratulations to @MyTrueSound on that. Celebrate it.Regarding the game itself, if you listen to what is being said in many of the comments posted here, removing the emotion if need be - and, yes, I've read the entire thread - there is some seriously solid feedback. Well done to those who posted. These comments deserve to be honoured, even the ones that do seem negative or contentious on the surface.If I could add something to that feedback, I get the feeling that not enough QA was done before the game went out. QA is crucial. Having worked in the games industry for over a decade and a half, I have often had it drummed into me, "Never trust a market of one." While that saying is mostly used in marketing, it's point is: the opinion, ideas or feedback of one person is great; but it's never enough when you are creating something for a much larger audience. I am unaware of the developer's QA process, but given that the same feedback has been reiterated numerous times in this thread, it would indicate that the QA and testing might not have involved as many voices as it needed.My other concern that has not been raised in this thread - though it was, in some part, raised from a different angle and treated as contentious - is that if GoldGun is to be a series, and this episode is going to be the entry point for every new player, then taking a hard line stance on not improving episode one might be a misstep. A decision like that would force every player to work their way through the not-so-great episodes before they get to the ones that the developers feel are of a professional quality (their words, not mine). That's not a player journey that makes a lot of sense, and the drop off rate of player retention might have significant consequences.All that said, I hope MyTrueSound is encouraged. I hope they have learned a huge amount from the experience of producing this episode, and continue to have a hunger to create great gaming experiences. I'll personally be there to play them all, and will continue to support them.

Yea! Alridy! it works! Any idea why the script wasn't in it's default directory originally? Why do I need to do pygame.display.update() if I'm planning to only use the audio? Also, you're right, the input is slightly delayed. Is it because of the way the pygame processes events? Or is it do to the way you and I coded it. If if it's the ladder, I would appreciate any tips to improve the the responsiveness. It's fine for what I have in mind, but for games like simon I would like some faster reactions.

Hello all. I used to go back and forward through webpages with alt left arrow and alt right arrow. Today, I noticed this does not work. However, it does work if I press alt first to open the menu bar and then press alt left or alt right. Just wondering does anybody else notice this so I can know if it's something an update introduced or something that's just happening to me?

@35:I tried this method on ubuntu 18.10, and unfortunately, although everything seems to complete fine, I don't have any .emacs folder (or file) in my home directory. Not sure why this is. (it does work with espeak but I have voxine purchased)

Hm, try putting the following code at the beginning of your script, before you import Tolk:import sys

Yes please, both from the perspective of learning the game and playing tactically. Though I've now done two complete runs against the easy Ai, I still haven't got into the deeper strategy of the game, EG trying to consider which units are weak/strong against which enemies, or consider the production costs at a more minute level.I even have had cases where I am swiping through the screen trying to find the attack button then get attacked first . this hasn't been a problem on easy since I've always tried to focus on defence as much as attack, but it would be an issue on higher difficulties I think.Also, a slower mode would let me actually read the status messages at the bottom of the screen. I tend to miss them thus far since I'm usually always trying  to flick through and spend my time building as much as possible.

I absolutly loved the atmosphere, the universe in general and... well nearly everything. But considering the file size, the price, and my generally optimistic attitude toward games, I didn't take time to consider that it could end.So first I have to thank you for the experience. It really looked like some kind of Tim Burton's movie. But after that I need to ask you : are you planing to release some kind of sequel? Furthermore, when I did pip install tolk and tried importing the thing it gave me an error about the handler module not being there, and I checked, it is in the same folder as __init__.py. So yeah, I think it's my setup. As for c++, I had the 2017 distribution, so I couldn't install 2013 and 2015 because they gave me "the newer version is better than the product" message. So now what do you suggest me try? Could it be the problem with my python directory? It's in c:\python3 right now. I'm pretty sure there is no multiple python versions on my PC because when I go to programs and have an option to uninstall them I have the python launcher and python3.7.2, nothing else. I really don't wana go back to earlier versions if I can help it.

VLC isn't half bad (I used it on one of my machines) but the lack of true system-wide hotkey support was a slight nuisance.As for NTFS: You can get Paragon NTFS for mac, but that's a paid product (although often times you'll see external drives, particularly those from Seagate, come with copies of the NTFS driver.)Everything else you said is quite true though. I was fortunate enough to get a hard drive upgrade with a Transcend Jetdrive, but the mbp2017 and up is starting to make that not possible.

Hello there!First of all, I'd like to say that I'm really interested by this project, cause I don't know a single thing regarding programation or coding. So a tool like that will be very helpful! I've some questions though. 1 You've said that it's possible to set a skill so it unlocks when your character reaches a certain level. But could it be dependant of other things? For exemple, you can improve your statistics, and a certain skill can be learned when your dexterity reaches a certain value? 2 That leads to my second question, is it possible to alocate some points when you level up, and does this engine allow us to build a stat system? 3 Maybe this has already been answered previously, but is it possible to create maps with paths that cannot be accessed until the player made something specific, for exemple activate a lever? I found a minor bug where switching one of the bottom tabs would make me not be able to pick the choices for that tab unless I change one of the top ones and change back. I do like the new tabs though.On another note, how much would it hurt the game's balance if you increased the exp gain of stronger monsters just a little bit? I'm not talking avout the bosses, although they might as well be factored in, but what about the regular and wraith type monsters?

@39, I think VBox is much better on Linux (though I've never tried it myself). I also think its good at virtualizing Windows but, again, haven't tried. If you can, always get DKMS modules; never get hardcoded modules for them. Those break very... easily.

The loop problems from what I can see aren't caused by Tolk. There are a few logic errors.In the menu module you haven't imported pygame. For every module you import that module needs to import required modules. K_UP and K_DOWN are defined in the pygame module itself, so those need to be pygame.K_UP and pygame.K_DOWN.The run function iterates through the event queue, which is fine. However as soon as the event queue is empty the program will stop executing. To fix this wrap the repeating menu logic  (including the event queue iteration) in a while loop.

Darren,Glad you figured that out, as I haven't messed with audio conversion in a long while.I'm a bit busier than I expected with real life stuff lately, but I discovered this morning that the autopilot commands work even while you're piloting your spacesuit. It's possible for us to make  repairs and capture ships without getting stranded outside. This is a minor thing, but still worth knowing.

@post 38: I will try your suggestions as soon as I get home, which should be in a little over 2 hours. @post 39. Thing is, I can't do the method described. I don't have the Tolk library installed, I only have the files. There's no setup.py or anything, and I don't know how to install packages manually. Thing is, the error doesn't happen if my program has no loops. It only happens if there are loops of any sort. Furthermore, the interactive prompt will simply say "No module named Tolk", where as my script gives me error pertaining to the Tolk file itself. The error can be found in post 33.
