A typical way of implementing a 2D map editor involves assigning a numerical value to an object. So 0 = open space, 1 = a wall, 2 = bunnies, etc. Then the 2D array is populated with those items in a way that you want to create a map. Other numbers can also be associated with events triggers as well, such as 3 = open door, or 4 = spawn enemy at X, etc.Knowing this, you can create a syntax for creating your own maps into a text document or editor, have your program parse the text and create a map based on that. An example i've posted before is using BrushTone as a 2D map editor, since a single pixel is encoded as 3 values ranging from 0 to 255. A had written a simple script for reading the image and extracting the data to create a 2D map array, you can find that [here], post 9.

oh. i know that. i am constructing a 2d map and i wan't to know how tk and other games made like we can build our own maps in shelter and if you know envirement sueet then there we write a sintax and the program compiles theat sintax in to explorable map. how it is done. i wan't the little bit clue so that i can impliment in python

Maps in python are more or less just data, so it really depends on what kind of map you want to make, 2D/3D, etc. A map class can contain all sorts of data, but the primary data is usually the map itself which can consist of things like a 2D array to tell where objects or collision is along a 2D plane. Things like walking speed, jump time, jump range, etc. these are usually associated with individual actors, not the map itself perse, though it depends, like a gravity property perhaps or boosters.It all depends on what you have in mind and how you want to structure things really.

@assault_freak: The sound cue is the jumping sound in high pitch, meaning there is an object above which only can be reached if you jump at it. I also got tricked by this sound, because it sounds very much different in high pitch.

Unfortunately though, game only seems to support US UK English, and no others. Would it be possible to add Other English speaking Countries? such as English IN? Hello.This game is really great.In terms of difference between the white machine and the green one, the green one would have more good parts to use than a white machine, parts are ranked from white, green, blue, red, yellow, etc etc.The collection rate is how much parts from that machine have you collected, once its 100 percent, it means that you got all the new parts in that machine and if you tried using it again, it will give you a part you got from it before, that's handy if you'd want to examine with making other secondary decks you don't want to use, or just turn them into subparts to be fused or something.

ReaControlMIDI comes with Reaper. I use it with VSTi that supports controlling things via MIDI, such as program changes when it can't be done with the normal GUI, for example, the KORG Triton VST.

I'm using NVDA 2020.2, it's strange because the menu sounds played but the screen reader wouldn't read even when I switched windows and came back.  Fixing it with a restart is easy enough though so not a huge deal.Appreciate the crediting by the way...Unfortunately I do have to report that V1.1.6 is crashing for me still, even after deleting the apdata.  I did some testing in order to at least narrow it down I hope.1. Control scheme doesn't effect it.2. Using the new snap to direction feature doesn't seem to cause the problem (this was my initial thought since it started as of 1.1.5)3. It can happen even when standing still and while a monster isn't attacking.4. RAM usage doesn't seem to be the issue.It does seem to be crashing maybe a little bit less in 1.1.6 but not by much.  At this point my working theory is that it might be related to the number of simultaneous  sound sources, yet those haven't been increased since 1.1.4 so that doesn't make allot of sense.Another possibility is that events aren't ending properly for certain actions, maybe things are still running and causing some kind of buffer overflow? It could be that something accidentally got left open when you adjusted the code for the snap to direction or player health values, or it's trying to save constantly.Some kind of rounding issue while turning may also be the culprit, maybe the snapped to direction and the true direction aren't matching and it's causing collision detection problems?I wouldn't really know as I'm not a coder, those are just my theories after working with them.

Hy guys!So, after such a long time from this forum, I want to ask a rather opinion-based question, but one many times asked of me by friends.I herd all over the place that there are only two practical main desktop operating systems usable by the non-programmer blind people, windows and mac, and over those two, the fires of hell break loos with disputes.but now, I want to ask a different question, what if a non-programmer blind would try something else, like linux?I have a friend who just had enough of both windows and mac worlds, saying there must be something else, something new, a new experience, so, I suggested him try ubuntu.just so I not forget, I intend to show him the ubuntu 20.04, if anything. It would be strange indeed, even though ubuntu isn't quite known for accessibility, for me to complicate it even more by using god knows what old version of it, like 14.04 or such, thing that still has the horible unity desktop that is, shall we say, more inaccessible than the law allows:(.now, here comes the question:After some digging and testing my self, I am at a crossing. I need help deciding the road ahead. Ubuntu clasic or ubuntu mate? anyone who used any, or both, of them, please post your opinions of it. I mean, are they accessible? if so, which is more so than the other? why do you think so, what makes one better than the other?Actually, I want to dabble in linux my self, so the knowledge won't hurt me, as well.Plus, if you guys have any book or such regarding learning how to use linux, even though only the utilities in the command line, as long as they apply to ubuntu/mate 20.04, they're all welcome to the party.I want to expand my knowledge of computers further, so linux/ubuntu terminal basics and stuff could help as well.Thanks to everyone who has put an effort in even reading this horendosly and insanely long walls of text!

So I am thinking of switching over to linux and I do live streams by listening to virtual audio cable on windows. Basically what I would like to know is how I could make a virtual audio device and then listen to it on my headphones just like I could with virtual audio cable on windows. I would also need to make certain programs output to that virtual audio device such as orca, retroarch, and discord.

I used to hang out with spanish speakers on the playroom and we would communicate in spanish. Maybe try something like that. Often what you learn from professionally designed lessons leave things behind that are commonly used in everyday Spanish by native speakers. For example, someone studying English in a non-english speaking country doesn't learn that whats up or how's it going means how are you. Similarly, in spanish, there is a proper name for Japanese animation, rather than just calling it Japanese animation. Things like this you can only learn by accident, through talking to other people. Um sure that spanish media is chocked full of idioms and expressions like these.

Ok, i've been playing this game for a bit, and I  have to say, while I respect strategic type games, (ones that require you to use some stratigy, not games like sound rts etc.) and hard games, I am not sure how I feel about this one. The game concept is good, the game play is good, but i feel some of the things, like some of the decks you fight are either too challenging at the start of the game, or aren't what they say they are. I think some more sound settings are needed, because even though you can tell the slight difference in pitch, i think there should be a better way for you to tell or change the pitch of you being hit and you hitting the enemies sounds, etc. Some things could be done  better, but in the end its good. The only other thing i think needs to be added is a way to check your decks remaining xp to level to what level, maybe in the deck management screen where you choose the deck to look at. Also, what are the difference in machines. I have a white and green machine, one costs twice as much as the other, but I;m not sure wich one is better? or what the collection rate is?

I wasn't talking about cashing sources, just buffers, or having an option to do so. Like, if we are going to hear player steps over and over, would it not make sense to keep buffers around to spare loading stuff again and again?Although, sound_lib never had issues with this... though it did *always* stream files, never actually read them into memory

However there will come a point when you'll snap, or that you'll get tired of his messaging asking the same thing over and over again and you'll block him anyway. And also... Isn't that like, abusing power for an admin? Blacklisting people for asking  why they where band, and deleting  topics where users got banned? I'm not talking about you, i'm talking of the other admin who did this on elten. Some people just... aren't suited for beeing admins, and abuse instead of, using, their power as admins. Just wondering. I mean, if I get banned from a forum, I at least expect a legit reason as for my ban, not just I got banned because it gets someone's rocks off without a valid reason for the ban. Now. If a valid rason was given for the ban to start with, in public, then the blacklisting makes sence. Otherwise though, its abuse of power.

I've had some time to think on what I should do next. I'm not far from the finish line on this corse as I've been using it for some time. I'm not going to rush to it, but I’m not going to slow myself to a crawl either. These lessons are not structured so something is covered and left completely behind. You are often reminded of things from many lessons ago. And once I'm finished, I can always redo parts or the entirety of the corse. Others have done this from what I here. as for materials, I have no shortage of media in Spanish, as I stated above. I only have a shortage of Spanish materials that I can make sense of. Hopefully those scales will reverse themselves in time. I’ll have to seek out even more elementary material. As for finding people to converse with, I’m somewhat limited in the real world aspect of that, but not as much online. I have no money at the moment, which narrows my options, but there are a few ideas I’m going to explore. As an aside, I must highly recommend the course that I’ve been using, language transfer Spanish. It was actually this very site where I first heard of it. i’ve tried a few different Spanish courses, and this one by far has been the most effective at giving me an understanding of what I’m actually doing with the language. It's completely free, and in my opinion completely worth a try.

As someone who tried cramming a few things at the same to to learn stuff, it does not work. You need to take things slow and let the concepts sit in your mind. One lesson that is thoroughly understood and practiced is better than 7 that are rushed through. Unless there's some super important needs to rapidly learn a language, like a job you want to get, it's better to take these things slow and take the time to practice.As a person born in a Spanish speaking family, I can say that I do not know the language what so ever to speak it. I can understand and read things fine in Spanish, and I can translate. but I can't compose sentences or speak it to a comfortable level. Lately I've just been utilizing a program to do 5 different activities on Spanish lessons a day and try to practice everyday. As well, I have been trying to talk with my parents more in Spanish to try to retain some stuff. but considering some of the words and sentence structure I want to use I have no knowledge of, it's a hilariously bumpy journey.it sounds like with these Spanish lessons, you're trying to check a box saying you did your massive load of knowledge for the day. That's the wrong approach to this as that's only good for committing stuff to short term memory, and not something you'll retain.

@21If you give Instacart $99 a year, they give you discounts on delivery for orders over $35.  It used to be free, but last time I did it it wasn't.  Since I'm in Seattle, that's probably our taxes, not a change, but even so, it's a good deal.  You'll end up paying what you would have if you'd gone to the store plus like $5 per trip, once you work it out, and since you'd probably also end up paying for a taxi or something, it's kind of a no-brainer.Only major downside to grocery delivery is that you can't do small orders, so if it's Wednesday and you've got some giant dinner party and you need Himalayan salt and nothing else will do, sucks to be you.  There's a minor downside in that you can't easily get stuff from specialty stores, if non-American food is your thing, but you can order half of that stuff off Amazon so it's not the end of the world.Other things you'll want: get Blindsquare if you can.  Get Aira if you can.  You'll not use either on a day-to-day basis, but they come in ridiculously handy in situations where nothing else will do, and Blindsquare in particular is amazing for finding out if the Uber driver did the right thing.  I think those two apps and my feed scanner are the only major blindness-specific tech things I've got, but you'll also have to mark the microwave and stuff and maybe get some braille measuring cups.  If you cook beyond a basic level, there's a lot of things where the right gadget takes it from harder than it needs to be because you're blind to pretty easy, but then most people don't go nearly as far as I do with cooking and in terms of meeting basic needs it's all entirely optional.

@164You should never cache sources because they will run the HRTF algorithm with silent audio and that's expensive.  They'll also crossfade the beginning of the audio in.You needn't worry about number of sources in normal game usage, but a few hundred sitting in some cache somewhere isn't going to end well.  Also, keep in mind that many Synthizer objects are bigger than you're expecting them to be.  Again, not something to worry about in normal usage, but if you let hundreds of them sit around, etc.If you start having performance issues creating objects, let me know.  It's going to be vastly easier to fix this in Synthizer, than to try to come up with some sort of cache that will cover up for it.  If I end up having to bump that up the priority list, I will.

I think you need to scroll all the way down before you can accept the agreement. The game doesn't have any specifically accessibility features, but main modes are announced when you choose them, and characters are as well. As is the standard for street fighter games of the modern erra, the sound is in stereo, and the special meter should have an audio cue when its full.

@162Sources can have as many generators as you want.  In practice, you might end up opening a GitHub  issue when you try it, but it is something Synthizer is supposed to support.  You can't, however, connect a generator to multiple sources.  Right now, doing so will cause anything from broken audio to crashes, but I'll add code to check this when things are settling into a sort-of refinement stage as opposed to new features.  The goal is to let you do things like footsteps and attacks of an enemy through the same source, since hrtf is expensive, and eventually there's going to be more advanced generators to help you with those cases.I think you've probably already worked out that sources only get one position, though.I'd just junk the generators and make new ones.  Yeah, you could cache them and that might help performance, but start simple.  You should be able to create/destroy 5 or so a second, and raising that number is on my to-do list.

So I am writing an abstraction class for synthizer, think sound pool. I have a question:I know that buffers should generally be reused if possible. My plan is to allow the user to toggle whether they wish to save one. My question is, are generators like this as well? Is it better to reuse a generator rather than create one on the fly? Does it even matter? Same kind of goes for sources, though I can predict an answer to this one: Sources should be sound-specific because one source can only handle one generator at a time (correct me if I'm wrong).Thank you for the clarification.

So my buddy who mostly just plays fighting games, told me to get SFV as it is crossplay compatible. Its like $7 now, for the base game. I have to set up an ID and stuff online apparently. I'm a native Spanish speaker, raised in the United States. So I don't know first hand the problems of learning the language as a second language. However, I do know what it's like to have a passion for learning a language, and putting myself out there. As I've said before in other topics, I was able to learn 7 languages because of this passion.There is one simple thing to keep in mind when learning a language, regardless of what it is. Be prepared to sound stupid, make mistakes, and feel maximum awkwardness. That's just part of the learning process. Yes, it's good to stay in your comfort zone at the beginning to learn vocabulary and grammar. This will only take you so far. The next step up is to listen to material in the language, even though you may not be able to understand any of it. Finally, find people that are truly able to commit to speaking to you on a schedule. This is where you truly have to get out of your comfort zone. Go out to local meet ups, find people on the street, or even download some language-practicing apps like iTalkie.Trust me, when you come across an unsuspecting individual out on the street, and just start talking to them in their language, there is a feeling of accomplishment because they probably never thought you would speak their language. That happened to me time and time again when I was learning Korean.Anyway, that being said, my recommendation is to probably not talk to family members or loved ones who are already familiar with your way of speaking. Some might disagree, but that family member doesn't want to see you fail, and so they will revert to speaking to you in English, for example, if you speak to them in Spanish and it's out of the norm for them.I am certainly struggling with this with my fiancee. She is trying to learn spanish in order to speak to my parents, but I can't bring myself to help her learn because I will always want to talk back to her in English.Finally, specific to Spanish, I'm sure you already know what variant you want to speak. My recommendation is to find people who are native to that variant, or who can speak to you in that variant. As an example, if you want to learn Mexican Spanish, and you try talking to someone from Spain, you may be able to understand some of the basics, but they'll probably use slang and other terminology you've never heard. This is not good for the learning process.

As for compiling with WSL, I have code in my path, so launching WSL and typing code . worked for me. It took a bit to open (VS Code needed to download some things) but after that I was able to edit files in WSL. It may take further investigating as to how to link VS Code to GCC or G++, though, so keep that in mind.Note: If typing code . does not work in WSL, you may wish to install remote WSL extension. I doubt it matters (googling its purpose brings up executing WSL commands) but it is something that VS Code recommended when it saw me having WSL.

So I am writing an abstraction class for synthizer, think sound pool. I have a question:I know that buffers should generally be used if possible. My plan is to allow the user to toggle whether they wish to save one. My question is, are generators like this as well? Is it better to reuse a generator rather than create one on the fly? Does it even matter? Same kind of goes for sources, though I can predict an answer to this one: Sources should be sound-specific because one source can only handle one generator at a time (correct me if I'm wrong).Thank you for the clarification.

You have to change the TTS language. Go to Voiceover settings, speech, and find the heading called rotor languages. There, you will have an add button. Add the language you want, and optionally adjust the voice. After that, you simply move the rotor to the language option, and swipe down to change between English and the language you just added.

@Gorilla, glad to hear it, also though my lady doesn't have breast cancer, it's nice to hear about someone whose okay, since yee gods! everytime you turn around in fiction someone is dying from cancer! You could almost get a complex .It is true that you shouldn't be generally paranoid about what you eat, and take time to enjoy yourself, however there is such a thing as a happy medium, indeed in this I'd follow Aristotle's philosophy about moderation in all things, since while we all know health freaks who see diets as a kind of personal identity and probably spend more time obsessing over food than the most hardened gourmet, there are also people who are the gastronomic equivalent of heroin addicts and have a genuine problem. Plus I'll say myself at least as far as exercise goes, I notice general benefits, especially at a point like this when other things in the world are so grim, it's like free antidepressants without the numming effects, which is definitely a good thing.

Sorry for ghosting this topic for a while. Lots of great stuff here. Especially from camlorn.I do have a lot to learn in regards to working the finance system, all I've ever had since I was 18 was my debit card and a checking and savings account. I just don't want to be another young person in a world of debt like some others end up doing due to ignorance, they really should teach this shit in schools more.I've been a bit out of the loop enough that I didn't even realize how much delivery from grocery stores seem to have gained in popularity, Covid I'm sure helping with that.@12 I'll always be doing music in some form or fashion, collecting vinyl,making beats, etc, even if I don't necessarily blow up from it, whether underground or mainstream wise. Hell I'm looking at some gear I intend to purchase over the next 12 months. I assume you do this also?

I personally use ReaControlMIDI to change MIDI programs, but that's me. As to the MIDI outs, in your MIDI track, press I and tab to the option that says MIDI hardware output, press the arrows to select your MIDI output device.

In iOS 11 I believe, options for adjusting pronunciation were added, though I highly the iPhone 4 out of all things actually supports that. Other wise you're out of luck, on less you just change the spelling of some words, or use a voice that just happens to pronounce it correctly out of the box.

Hello there everyone, karate25 here. I remember one of you suggesting that I submit an audio file to show you how I'm doing the generator outside the hotel. I'm only too happy to do this of course, but I don't really want to create a dropbox account just for one time of submitting an audio file, because I know I'd never do it again. The best way I could figure out how to do this would be to use my victer reader stream and record something that way, but I don't see any area where I could attach a file to my post for people to view. Is a dropbox account free? I'll look at this myself too. Let me know if you have any guidance on how I can submit an audio file.

Hello. I am trying to learn another language. Anyway, running into a bit of a problem involving the fact thhe voice on my phone does not speak the words correctly. Would there be a way to fix that, while still haveing the phone speak, in this casae, english?I know you can swap the languages fully, but not sure if you can alter it so it will speak words they they are supposed to be spoken, not the way tthe voiceover set to English thinks they are supposed to be spoken.Anyway, that's about it.

I had the same question a few days ago.Someone told me to use potplayer. I tried it but I didn't manage it. I asked how I can setup it but no one answered.I also used lion but it told a little bit much, things that aren't interesting for me.

When people say add to your path, they're referring to the PATH environment variable (all caps).  Surprisingly this is mostly the same on all platforms, save that on non-windows you separate entries with : instead of ;.  All entries in PATH should be directories.  When you type a command and it's not a built-in one, the shell will go through all the entries in PATH, check the directories, and try to find an executable file of that name.  On Windows, this pretty much means .exe and .bat, though in powershell it'll also include ps1.Unfortunately Windows is a bit stupid, so if you want to do this permanently, what you need to do is go into control panel and change it.  On Windows 10, to do this:Search "environment" and you should get "edit the system environment variables".  Open it.Tab to Environment variables. Hit it. Tab to system variables.In that list, find PATH and hit edit.Now you get a nice list of all the paths in it, because the one part of this process that's no longer stupid is that Windows 10 doesn't make you manually edit it, so you can just hit new and add an entry.  Paste "C:\program files\llvm\bin" and you're done.Now, if this still doesn't work, just ignore clang, use cl.exe (which will be on your path in the VS command prompt), and come back to it later when it matters.  You'll be able to get really far before it does, if ever.

@7, I see linguistic diversity as a good thing, and I would much rather speak to someone in there native tongue then make them speak my language.

@561 Knowing that to be the case doesn't invalidate concerns about people spreading it further. Again, taking the approach of say little and do little, as it relates to speaking of the product and distributing it harms no one. Though I do agree that this discussion would be better served in its appropriate topic.
