after reading the topic as it has progressed, like jayde i am torn between thinking this guy is a troll or possibly has undiagnosed asberger's.quick thing i found from an article i just had a look at:"Asperger syndrome, also known as Asperger's, is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests."i'm not going to bore people by posting the hole article but i think this kind of fits the bill. i'm not a specialist though, i am just pointing out a possibility.

@41 if you actually read the posts in this topic you have been told over and over how to improve your behaviour but you either don't want to listen or are unable to understand it. so let me put it this way: if i met you in a bar and you spoke the way you apparently talk to people on these games that keep banning you, you would be on the floor spitting out teeth. so imagine the game as real life and think, would i talk to somebody like that usually, or would i be a bit nicer and just try to have fun and make friends. it's not fucking rocket science.

you would need 2 computers as far as i remember. that way you can start a new game on the second, get one of the other starting manamon and trade it over once you reach the point that you can trade then rince and repeat. it's a pain but doable. you can also copy your saved game over to the second computer and trade creatures back to yourself.

@14, dunno. probably. i'm trying to get some people playing it myself but it needs some buggering about with. i'm tempted to make a mod myself with really silly sounds. like sheep and chickens and things. i mean, who wouldn't want to run round reloading a shotgun that squarks and clucks while it fires chickens at targets that go bah when you hit them.

interestingly, i just tried dm in the console and it told me it wasn't a main world server and i had to be using blah blah blah. so the jedi quake mod may not be compatible with this version. or atleast not online. now if this helps, here's an old version of the portable you can mess about with and see if that will work. i haven't played with it yet though. lol things i find in my backup folders on my secondary drive.https://www.dropbox.com/s/k3w35u014t34e … 4.exe?dl=1

@11 ok that's interesting. i'd have to do some messing about but it's got me baffled. i would suggest reading the documentation for a start. i'm not really the go to guy for this, i just put it up to help out. it's been a long time since i played it as well and i'm only just getting used to this version. if i work anything out though i will let you know.

i don't have the link to download the latest version of audio quake direct but i think this is the latest one. i've put the QMOD file for jedi quake in it as well. i haven't put the full pak files in though because i think that would be illegal but i think you only need those to play the full offline game anyway.you can buy the full version for a few quid on steam if you need it and import the files from that if you need to. i'm sure other places you can find them for free but that's up to you to sort out.https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cswnjarncnot … -irNa?dl=1

actually depending on what version you were using, you may need to download the hole bloody thing again. there were a lot of sound updates when 3.9 came out that aren't in the patch. if you need the full version patched you can grab it from www.the-badger.co.uk/swamp.zip unless he's brought another patch since the last time i put it up there a few weeks back.

sounds like you are using an older version. even if you are just trying to play offline it tries to contact the server in one version and that crashes it out.

@6 thanks for a really well written guide to installing this. i've wanted to try it out for a while but couldn't get my head round it. got some of my old playstation games running on it and works a treet. still can't get jaws to work with it though. NVDA works fine but if i try to use jaws it pitches a fit and uses sappi. wonder if anybody knows a way round this?

to find out when missions are being run i think the command is "/alerts on" but i may be wrong about that. it's something similar anyway. when that's enabled it will tell you any time somebody puts up a mission, giving you a chance to join it.

the recording sounds cool but i would fix that engine sound at full max. firstly it sounds like it's about to explode but it is also overpowering and would over power the player so that it would be really hard to navigate. i like the jet engine high octain sounds of accelerating and decelerating but i'd leeve the engine sound at max at a constant of that same sound. i think kit from night rider sounded like that when he took off in to turbo mode. i like it. but that juddering? gave me a headache just in the demo recording.

could also be a video card issue. some of these games demand a kick ass gpu or they run like crap. also to be honest, 8gb ram isn't great for mainstream gaming these days. but as @4 says, you can possibly tweek it in to really low video modes and things so it will play propperly.

I've got the triple pack from gog but they're kind of badly emulated arcade style. can I get that on steam?and @15 it's about time they brought those back. much more fun than just kicking the hell out each other in a set area. one of the mortal kombat games I had for ps2 kind of tried to emulate that in a 3d way so it was a 3d platformer beat em up. i'm terrible with 3d stuff like that though. side scrolling, bring it on. i'll smash them barrels, pick, up chains and baseball bats and kick, punch, hack and slash away.

long time since I played streets of rage. is it 3d these days? and is there any accessibility in this version?I miss the old fighters where you actually walk about doing stuff rather than just arena fighting. like those too but walking along laying the smack down and smashing barrels and things is always more fun.wonder why they never made a fancy new version of double dragon. loved that thing when I was a kid.

@r3dux is there any chance of a module for mk11? I know some of it is self voicing but a lot of the menus aren't. would be cool to be able to change settings, read the carictor selection screen and the training modes. big ask though because you'd need a copy of the game and strangely it will run on a pretty low spec machine but it needs a pretty kick ass video card or it runs slow as hell. I had to buy a gtx1050TI to play the thing.

sonifight has a setting to read a lot of the menus for mk X although it doesn't seem to work on some machines. mine works fine but some of the other moduels for it don't work for me, such as street fighter 4 ultimate that works fine for lots of other people.

also, if you buy it for steam you will need a good video card. I had to lash out on an NVidia gtx 1050 to be able to play it because on my old ATI radian it ran so slow it was unplayable.

just wondering what controller this game is designed for? to start the game I have to press space, the trigger doesn't work. after that I can use one of the rite shoulder buttons to do the job of the rite trigger. also, I can attack left and rite with the rite stick on my controller but not forward so I hyave to use the up arrow. the controller I'm using is a playstation 2 pad on an adaptor. I've also tried it with a joystick with the same results.

well I bought it in good faith after hearing the demos and demanded a refund less than a day later. I think a lot of people did. I actually think some of the voice acting was really good but the story line was just too linnier and easy. you could hardly go the wrong way and if you did you got told off. plus as people have said the combat and navigation system was nothing new or ground breaking as they'd promised us.the girl that played the companion did sound kind of hot though. just wish she didn't do that scinical laugh so often.

I still haven't played it too far but it still has a feel of soulbound to me. the story line seems a lot more interesting but the combat and the hole finding a helper bit just seems a bit samy. I'm not complaining about what I've played so far though, it is really well put together. I just get the feeling it's yet of the same we've had a few times.will I buy it when it's released? I'm not sure yet. i'll see what I think when I complete the beta but so far I have to say it isn't really enspiring me. just feels like an audio drama that you get to make the odd choice in and have to do battles to progress.

it doesn't install it stealthily, it asks you if you want to install it. unfortunately it doesn't read very well with screen readers and is very difficult to uncheck the box.

actually I think a reason younger people play online games more is they were brought up with them. I wasn't. they are only a relatively new thing. same way kids expect to be able to communicate with each other constantly, have tablets to watch movies on etc, it's what they grew up with and same with online gaming. the idea of not being part of a group while you're doing something is something they aren't used to, even when that is a group of people in a virtual environment. same as they spend all day watsapping, facebooking or what ever else. ok those things are probably out of date now too, I never got in to them. hell my parents use watsapp so I'm guessing no self respecting kid will touch it now.

from what I remember with psx you had to mess about with plugins for video, audio, cd rom and all that stuff. I had it set up pretty well a long time back but it took a lot of buggering about. have they made that easier?apparently back in the day there was an amazing emulator called bleem which did the ps1 perfectly. but sony slapped a desist order on them and they had to stop selling it. I've never managed to get a copy of the full version. I've seen demo's knocking about but never a proper one.wonder if anybody's got that.

from what I remember on pc all you have to do is edit your steam shortcut. I don't remember having to tweek anything else. this is for jaws but I assume the same with NVDA.alter the target in properties for your steam short cut some something like this:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -login username password -no-dwriteobviously replaceing the parts that say username and password with your actual username and password.also make sure steam doesn't launch automatically or it won't use that method.it's still fiddly but useable.

cd drive should play the disks fine. I play my old games on an emulator and they work. think the color of the disks was just to make them look cool. emulators to tend to play better from iso images though because modern cd drives spin really fast then shut down when they're not being used so when ever it needs to read from the disk again you often get lag.most emulators have a built in tool to rip cd's to image files if I remember rite.

i have to admit i have also always received titles when I've bought them. pre ordering is another kettle of fish but if it is something that was released i never had an issue.in fact when airic was released I always got an email with the latest download when ever it was updated rite up to the latest version.

well after I origionally posted this topic I emailed back to ask for more information. I have nothing back except for the same email somebody else mentioned offering it cheeper.I should point out I didn't start this as an aggressive attack against breaker box, airic, once it was finally released in it's turbo version runs like a dream and is a great game. i'll admit I do have wurries and issues with them though, all of which have been covered comprehensively by other posters. was interesting to see the feedback this has got though.I'm still in 2 minds on breakerbox. they have a lot to offer and what they do make is well worth the money. on the other hand, a lot of the time they don't deliver and it's a real shame. they have a lot of potential. I guess we'll see what this new idea of theirs brings but like many others, I personally won't be spending money on it until somebody can show it actually works, is worth the money and will fit with people's times.there's a scinical part of me thinks people will get things like, oh sorry, we have nobody available to play this game with you at the time you suggested, will Monday the 31st of February next year be ok.ok 31st of February is going to far but I think you get the point.

actually the original email I posted is from the guy who runs the website and the only mentioning of enjoying it seems to be him saying he enjoys final fantasy  7. it could be a quote from a user though, it's hard to be sure. I personally enjoyed playing it back in the day too but that's an epic game and the amount of hours you'd have to pay for to complete it would be unreal.
