yes I definitely think they should be reviewed. I could do some of that for you guys if you'd like me to. The php scripts really aren't that hard to edit to make that, though while I'm at it I'd rename it from index.php, because it can be anything else as long as the file uploading page links back to it. Like uploadobj.php and the normal upload.php that processes the data, and just change the dest path to something like upobjs. Also don't forget to block indexing that directory.

bgt does have access to sha512 I believe, so we could use that. If not, I could probably call advapi32 directly. And for saulting I wouldn't just use the username either, I'd do something to it, maybe has it and add those together or something. With this system currently it will tell you if you have the wrong password for an account because it's in a file inside the account's folder. It could probably be manipulated but it would require a bit of work. I do have code from way back when when I built a password reset system that had been used in btb, so I could probably have that ported.

I'm working on the ability for you to be able to upload objects through php or something so you won't have to email me, since nobody has done that. If i put it in php maybe it'll encourage them. But what do you think should be the file size limit for one object zip? Also I still wish we had behind pitch decrease or something, i can't tell if an item is in front or behind me and it makes it impossible for me to get them!

danny, I still am having an issue with the game that apparently can only be fixed on the source code end. I get fatal error! Failed to execute script whatever, if it's compiled with pyinstaller. Apparently there are some flags in pyinstaller's compilation to try and fix that error, you'll have to do that research yourself. All I know is there's nothing I can do.

hi, I have a serious issue, it is kind of off the topic of this thread but it is related to this game so I'll post it anyways.I am having an issue executing pyinstaller built scripts, such as this game. I've verified that it's pyinstaller because another application built with the same compiler also throws the same error, fatal error! Failed to execute script *. Do note that * is just a wildcard in this case, the error itself doesn't actually say *.I am running windows 10 home, x64, version 1703 build 15063. If there's any way to fix this error I would gladly appreciate the help!

as far as I can tell the game is not going to be made payed. Ivan's decision to make it payed was against me too, I do not personally see it as a game of a high enough caliber to warrant that. And do to the language it's coded in, it will never be. The reason I am in the project is because I wanted to work on something that would actually touch the public and try my hand at coding a little again. But I do think making it payed would decrease the playerbase hugely and we're just now starting to get a decent one. As of this moment, it is still free, although the server is down due to another server switch, this time from ivan's linux server/wine host to vlad's windows server. Pings are slightly affected, not when idle but sometimes when doing things. I'm trying to get a team system in before the next release, and now that we have toolboxes, vehicle repairs are on the way. I apologize for the server downtime, but for some reason the linux server crashes 
 all the time and as you know, it is impossible to see why it's crashing there when using wine. Well, linux itself isn't crashing, just our little sandboxed process is and we can't figure out why. That's why the windows server is a great help, because we have a runtime meter that works on it. As of progress in the update, shelters are still being debugged, and the team addition will hopefully begin shortly. I'm thinking one thing at a time. Vehicle repairs will be easy to implement, but teams, not so much. Especially with the little plan I have set up in my head for teams, they would be extremely complex pieces of code involving objects and all the arrays and saving and such to get it done, so it doesn't bwake like redspot has. Although sam has done a great job at fixing it. I of course do not wish a flame war started over what I consider a dead subject, and making it payed seems to be a dead subject to us in the dev team. I myself do not agree with some
  of ivan's views, and that it will get rid of cheaters is one of them. Another is that it would keep the playerbase solid. I know a handful of players that are regulars that would most likely disappear if the game were to become payed. So as far as the payed subject goes, I would consider it a battle won for the community unless ivan says something else. Thank you all for taking interest in this project, and I myself am glad to have even the playerbase we had on our linux based server, and I hope that soon you will all be able to experience an active server again on the windows one. Thank you for playing the killer, and remember, I am still open to suggestions. Running people over with tanks has apparently been one of them, who says yes to that.

that's because that game is still trying to get the server lost info from bw-studios.tk, which went down. The update is still being worked on. A server is running, we went to a new server, which btw has fucking awesome pings, but we are still debugging the update. We added so much in such a short timespan that it is riddled with bugs. I'm still trying to fix a bit of code in the moving sound handler that renders all vehicles extremely quiet and at the lowest possible pitch from the outside, meaning you can't hear them coming. I have to fix that one. Ivan is also working on fixing bugs that he introduced, including a server crash and shift enter being disabled for some reason. But hopefully soon you guys will be able to experience the power of this update!

the error you are getting is because you aren't using the version off the sendspace link. But a new update is coming out soon. And I actually mean soon this time. Aircraft and tank code is fully added, just waiting on ivan to add a store and then we could call it 1.1. Also, he ripped out the enemy code if I'm not mistaken, but maybe he could add it back and have it be controllable by the devs, and yes maps for enemies would be a good idea. With the way items work in this game, it would be a royal pain to lose every item you've picked up, because they can be hard to find, and there are some items you must keep. Like the vehicles and fuel tanks.

For now, yes we are using up's code, but we are attempting to fix broken things or buggy things. I'm thinking of ripping out the health system in favor of a more rtr style weapon and health system, to make it a bit more playable and fair. Damage and defense were ripped out a long time ago in attempts for that. Only thing to go now is health effectiveness and max health upgrades, hopefully health items in general. And maybe a bit of change with the mine damage system, I really don't know about that one. I could easily make the client play a small fizzing sound where a mine is so you wouldn't get blown to bits as easily. And yes, sam, we do have that geolocation tracker in there. This is designed

I'm trying to play shadow rine, and it keeps switching the running process to dwm, disabling jgt. But all my keystrokes and such still go straight to the game. I know this isn't a bug in jgt, but is there a fix for shadow rine that will stop it  randomly minimizing itself or whatever it's doing?

THe following are serious bugs which should be fixed, but are a bit funny to exploit and watch the game die.I am going to be a bit comical here and do names and thingsBug1: door massacreYes, you heard write! Door killing!With enough attack and the right weapon, mine being 17800 attack and the volt stick, you can kill the door if it is the end of stage one. DOors you can walk past will not work, but the ones that end the stage or transition between parts that rest at the end of the x axis, you can kill. Once the door is killed, there is of course, nothing to press enter on, and you are forced to discontinue the level.Bug2: aircrashThis is a bug I have observed, not sure how you would be able to fix it though. When a vertical ranged weapon, particularly in my case the needle launcher 10 set to hight range 10, shoots and overmaxes, or goes over the top, of the y axis, the game will quit with a runtime error. Makes perfect sense how that would happen though, but I thought I'd report it anyways.Bug3: PPAC, or projectile platform air crash.This is a rather interesting bug, not sure how it came to be or why it doesn't work at 0, but here's the bug.If you start a stage on a platform in the air and at x1, you can do the following.Take a step right, back left, turn right without stepping, and shoot a projectile weapon, such as a rocket launcher or a warp launcher, things like guns and needle launchers don't work though.And of all things, the game errors out.Performing this action at the left of a stage, but at y 0, does not produce the crash, it simply launches like it should.Examples to reproduce these bugs, good for ukio's bug testing and us to kill the game.Bug1:stage: 0-2.Very very very powerful save, attack wise, and a good weapon that makes good use of the attack, volt stick works for me.Go to the very right of the first level, but don't press enter on the door.Start blasting away at it with your weapon.When you hear the main menu navigation beep of all things, the door's gone.Bug2:Stage: 1-1.Weapon: needle launcher 10th generation.Enter the first room and grapple up to the platform with the box.Press r 10 times until the game says the number 10.FIre, one shot at a time, until you see the runtime error. oriol, I would like to give you a slight point. Some sounds in that thing, are mine. Somehow you got ahold of the 8bit effects I had made and I see them. But, no harm done, those were made with a generator that pretty much just makes random noises, gorth made the gen. I'm pretty sure you used it too.

I have a nasty bug that I'm surprised hasn't been squashed yet. When you interrupt a stage, some loops won't stop. Examples of this are the clear burn's precursor in 25-5, or the alarms in the skyracer. YOU interrupt while they're going, they keep on going until you exit the game.

I am not even on this project, I haven't been for a while. Personally I would have deleted the topic a long time ago as well. By the way, ivan can barely code, vlad is a newbie, and carter is just a server guy and ivan isn't even letting him host the server. I had planned for none of this to happen, by simply using up's code as a template for a bigger, better, game. One that was more rtr style, not meaning 3d but like fuck the stats. you do realize this was not what I wanted, at all. i wanted to modify the game to a new one, with a different title, and say I used ultrapower as a codebase. I did not want to release it, nor did I want this shit to happen. So ivan, you're going too far. Do not release the source, idiot. I would say strip it down to not even a game anymore but a backbone for one that's multiplayer, but that just cannot be done, especially with the way it's coded and the time spent on coding that. If you could do a backbone, it would be easier to fresh code the backbone than to strip one. And then there's the fact that, and sorry for this here but, ultrapower has a worse dev than mason. Mason did boot me, but he knew how to code. He knew how stuff works. And if somebody went hey, you should add this, or hey, this is a security hole, he would add/fix it. You want 2 year old fit, ivan? Try yourself. Being like, uh, fuck you, I'm gonna give out the source... It is not an open 
 sourced game, it should not be an open sourced game, and no adding devs to it does not count as open sourcing it. Here's the thing. If you want an open sourced game, try, sb9.6. Now that thing was singleplayer. WHen it's single player, it's much much easier to manage. You just cannot release the client, server, or both of a multiplayer game to the public, it would just be incompatible all over the place if people started modifying it and just... Urg!Mason, you have my approval. THis thing should just die. For good.

I had no entention of posting the source, ivan is trying to overtake me. I told him why don't you just let it die. He says, if you wanna leave the project you can, but I'm still keeping it alive! Honestly, I'm sick of it too. Games are supposed to be fun, to play, and develop. This has turned into a big mess. It wasn't even my choice to release it, at it's current state, ivan just did it because he got a bunch of contact requests and spam that people wanted back ultrapower. My original plan wasn't to do this at all. WHen I did this, my original plan was to heavily modify it beyond recognition, give it a new title, and basically use the current source as a template. I was going o change the stats system. I was going to redo probably about half the game! And, as I stand here now, looking at this bullshit. I'm debating whether I should still do that, or should i just plain kill it forever. But one thing is for sure. I'm not okay with this the w
 ay it is as of this moment.Urg!

I did post a long rant in 37 but I deleted it... And no, I'm not going to post it again.Just, my thing is, this is the truth, nobody wants me as a dev, and this does not include mason. The peak of 30 players was reached while I was banned from development of the project. Here's one thing I've always noticed about ultrapower, that I could not find a way to fix even when I was on the dev team.The entire game is unfair. THe leveling system is just a number which is useful to know what somebody has, but the stats are just too, ur. Even with your war_map seperation, the entire game is unfair. I hate to compair it to rtr, but honestly rtr is better, and that's not because it's coded in pb or because it's 3d, honestly I like 2d better. But because it's way more fair. unfortunately I deleted it. But i could probably code up an offshoot in a few hours/days, the concept is so damn easy, though I'd be smarter, maybe.After this happened, a few days, he blocked me and we aren't friends, for other reasons and the fact that I am publically depressed.I will not develop on my own, because I have high level depression and instability within my mind. If i didn't have that, you would see the title ultraponage or something like that. That's also the reason why you haven't seen much activity from the title UltraSound, my only activity was this and that random toney program that was just made under my name, no trademark needed on a piece of source.I could colaberate with someone, provided they're willing to tollerate me. But most of the smart programmers have ditched bgt, and the ones that still stick around are either jerks, want nothing to do with me, or don't know the thing enough to make anything good. 
 I would learn another language, if I could. I've tried pb but I just can't wrap my head around it after being around this baby cpp for so long.

Toney, based off the word tone, was inspired by me browsing wikipedia articles about digital telephone signaling, and by using sony sound forge's dtmf generator.Behold, the multi frequency dtmf generator, with more than just that supported! in fact you can customize it right from an ini file! THe things you see such as 1=697, 1249 are dtmf's you can access by entering the thing before the = sign, and it will put the frequency for it in.This program is open source bgt files, but it can be advanced for the beginner user. But if you understand bgt, you won't have a problem with the code.Check the commented section at the top for a basic readme on how to use it, and don't overlook the ini file! the server will probably be down for a few days, because I lost access to my comp with up on it. It's me and ns who are doing the overhall. Mason wanted an overhall, he's getting one! This so far, will strip ranks and only have players and devs, and will be replaced by features such as building and banning and such. THis is what is planned, but I'm not at my comp to code it, the charger is out of town at a place that we won't get it back from until tuesday I think.

everybody was hating on him for kicking me out of the project, even ns, who's his server host. That may have something to do with it... But here's the thing. I cannot develop a good game myself for the life of me. That's why I like having this project. because I actually have something good on my hands, and I can work with it. I didn't mean to say he put me back on for snappier updates, he actually didn't give me that as a reason. just he realized that he didn't have enough motivation to continue it alone, and he new that I had brought him uphill. And I, have actually outdone him in one thing. I have fixed the connection bug! You know how you have to restart the client every time you wanna reconnect? no longer! IN the next client update, that will be there! And @slj, mason is a good friend of mine. When he kicked me off things did arise, but we got back together before he handed it back over. I am more than just his little monkey and I am sure of that
 . He respects me for who I am, not just what i can do. hell, he's got me beaten in coding by a longshot, and if he wanted to develop it alone, he could, but he doesn't. oh, and who would take a 14 year old little prick like me as a dev other than mason?

mason, finally rezlizing he didn't have enough motivation on this game, has put me back on the dev team. However, nobody is in charge of it, completely. It's his game, and I respect that, and he's still working on it. But he put me back on for snappier updates and fixes. So me and him are both developing it, and we're gonna keep it that way. I am not trolling with multiple usernames, though on joseph weakland's server my account did get hacked, which I'm pretty sure was haajeex. The game is indeed going downhill, I used to play it a lot and then I just stopped. If it is possible for me to win at least partial development rights on the thing, like 2dp ultron, then I would probably go back to individual servers. I would change a few things with ranks, etc. And terminator, this one is not an insult. i just have a question. How am I supposed to understand what you're saying? it's supposed to say server lost if something went wrong. Unless you just logged out of another server, then you have to restart the client or it will do crazy things. I don't know why.

as a fan and developer of ultrapower, I strongly recommend do not ever play on joseph weakland's server. It is full of spamming admins, that like to beep, upload music, etc. THey also will move you, make more admins, edit your invintory, and randomly ban and demote each other. I have taken it off the list because it does not meet all three requirements. 24/7 uptime, it has. Fast speeds, it's tollarable. Good player experience? Not one bit.

wine mode is if you're using wine for mac, which does not support screen readers, so it only uses sapi. Item quantifier will multiply items you get by a quantifier, such as if I had 1000 quantifiers, and I picked up 2 potion power, I'd get 2002 potion power.

New update! Server version 11.0 and client version 9.3! Unlike previous updates, this new client and server must be both updated, absolutely must, because now the packets are encrypted. So, say, you can't connect to a server running version 10.84, if you're running client version 9.3, and you can't connect to a server running 11.0, running 9.21. So update! Update! Update! Now, you're a bit more secure... As hackers can't start sending packets now.

I will add that server to the list. I am about to release the new update to server and client, wait until I give the okay to update client and server. And as for the unfairness of it all, I unfortunately can do absolutely nothing about that. I do my best not to be corrupt, however I do usually give myself some ud to buy things like item_quantifier so I can get lots of ammo and food from picking it up. But I don't, spam, with notify, and I yell at people who overnuke. The hole point of the nuke command was to clear up lag, by freeing all items from the server and the boom and moving was just a bonus because it's a nuke. Please stop comparing this to rtr, this is not rtr, and it will never be. Yes I do agree it can be a bit unfair, you should have seen me starting out in version 8 when I wasn't even an admin. but like I said, that is out of my control. By the way, joseph's server got wiped again, due to some major drama that went down with some stupid chief mod c
 hanging, my, password and banning like crazy and updating the server when there wasn't an update, and so we wiped it all because nobody could trace the guy. We are gonna be more strict about the admins on there, and I'm doing my best to prevent cheating, I'm not level 100, am I?

when I get home I will update the site, I thought I uploaded up_release.zip! THe new zip is back in ogg. Servers now need 10.82, by the way. 10.83 and client update 9.21 will support a new feature I'm thinking of adding, audio streaming as well as voice clips, and the builder doc will give you a list of surfaces and sources you can use.

okay, let me rephrase that appology. I'm sorry for being such a dick, for hating on you, and for opening these holes in the first place. I will do my best to fix them. I have fixed the dev command, if you check for server updates now, you should see that version 10.8 is out. If you download it, the dev switch will be fixed. It also will find any players that are above rank 4 and that don't have clients sending they're devs, and demote them to rank 1 to fix past exploits. The real dev, as usual, has to run from source for his client to say he is one. There is no slash command to emulate this behavior, no longer using the rank file, simply your game sends it or it don't. if it don't, you are not a dev, and there is no way around that. Also, by suggestion of roel, I have added a way to edit the filtering of messages. I would recommend to keep this on, but it's your choice. Unfortunately the var command will not change the filter, you have to edit server.
 prefs while the server is not running. If it is running, it will now also filter account names so nobody can log in as a crashword.The game is now supported a little by me, and will continue to go on. i will make sure to keep a level head about this game and any thoughts on it. GO ahead, criticize, if it's constructive it's good. UltraPower is back!

I do agree the dev switch was a big flaw, I'm with you there that that was just a big load of crap. But I can't exactly store players in the server executable, can I? NO, I can't. I can't use the registry, I apparently can't use files, the passwords were encrypted, I could encrypt more stuff, that wouldn't be a problem. But this is just bullshit. I'm off, have fun with your deleted game, and if you see an update, that means I got off my ass and coded some stuff. But do remember one thing. The next update, will have a secret killswitch that will allow me to disallow launching of the server and client executables if the game isn't supported.
