It's not essential, but it can help. BTW, in case it would help, I did some demos of Say The Spire, I should make a playlist and maybe redo at least one of them because I was still trying to fix the laptop microphone when I recorded them. Anyway, I cover mapping.http://www.youtube.com/user/khomustu

Any tips on setting up the app? I installed it but just got a bunch of clickable unlabelled stuff with NVDA. Or is there something that tells you about updates if you create an account on the website? I haven't yet because this is the first game I've bought from it.Oh yeah, got 80100, wave 15, on the latest update.

Re: Onslaught, Audio Asteroids, released for Windows, macOS, and Linux

I just had my wife check both the arcade and Atari 2600 versions of the game. In the arcade version, they move diagonally in both directions. As you shoot them, they get smaller, and some of them can go off at another angle, the smaller pieces that is. She says the Atari versions move straight up and down and when they get to the bottom or top of the screen, they shift over to the left, getting closer to you. They too break up into smaller asteroids. She said at least the Atari player was pretty much sitting still and turning and shooting. I think the arcade player moved to chase the saucer.I literally sent her videos of both games so she didn't have to rely on old memories of play, but she said that yes they move, and she didn't need videos to tell me that. But like I said, I had her verify, just to be absolutely sure. So yes, this really is a pretty faithful clone of asteroids. That's awesome because I used to play it without being able to know what was going on, I've never seen anything. So it's pretty cool to have a working version. I for one would dig more old school video game clones. IMO there is nothing wrong with a simple straightforward game. If you want games with powerups and twelve kinds of teleportation, you have other options.

Re: Onslaught, Audio Asteroids, released for Windows, macOS, and Linux

I got to wave 12. 64 thousand and something, still haven't figured out how to copy the score dialogue at the end. Here's my strategy, for what it's worth.I generally stay in one place, unless I feel like I need to move to get closer to an asteroid, e.g. a small one toward the end of a wave. I try to focus on segments of the field with a lot of activity and turn within them as little as possible, think lining up the single asteroid in the tutorial. Then if the field changes, I turn to a new more active segment. This is opposed to just constantly turning in a circle, which was what I was trying before when the field got really crowded.I usually have snipe mode on. If you're getting a collision alarm, try to center the alarm, that usually takes care of that asteroid. That's hard to do on higher waves, in the final wave I literally had it happen where I get a single beep of the alarm before immediately getting hit, there were a lot of asteroids flying around. If I have a lot of small ones at the end of the wave, I'll sometimes try brawl mode, but I still haven't figured out if that makes them easier to hit or not.Hey, is there a way to buy the game for another person? I guess you could just buy it again and send them the download link, but I notice it fills your email in, at least it did mine, probably because I used Pay Pal. So it would be tied to my email again, not whomever I'm buying it for, I think anyway.

Is there a way to pause from the controller? I didn't see one in the controls reference. That would be really handy. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get pulled into one input source. My wife started talking to me and I had to think a minute before I was like, oh yeah I can put the controller down and hit escape!

Ah ha, the directional pad thingy! I always forget about that. I have a classic X-Box controller, so I'm sure that'll work, thanks! So far, bought the game last night around 1 in the morning, I've gotten to the seventh wave I think, and my score was 27 thousand and something. Fun game.

Re: Onslaught, Audio Asteroids, released for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Just bought this, really fun game! I got a controller for another game and it's really cool to have a space shooter to use with one. A couple quick suggestions:1. A way to move through the menus with the controller? Maybe there is one and I'm just missing it. I got plunged right into the game because I didn't realize the tutorial was another option in a menu, so I just hit 'A' on my controller and started. I think it would be nice to be able to do everything right from the controller, instead of having to go over to the keyboard.2. A local high score? I have no idea what my score was, and it would be nice to be able to look it up. I don't really care about other people's scores or anything, or even a list of scores. Just whatever the high score is, or possibly last game's score and over all high score. This is a really nice old school video game. I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. Thanks for the excellent work.

Ah! kind of a bummer. So just to be sure, that means I don't get on the daily climb then?Actually the question I was wondering about is how you set your name? I guess it doesn't matter if I won't get on in the first place, but I wasn't sure if it just uses my Steam username or what it does.

Re: Say the Spire, a Slay the Spire Accessibility Mod

OK, some quick questions about Say.  1. I've gotten into this mode where if I go up with the left stick, it seems to go back. For example, if I'm in game settings and skip a volume I want to adjust, moving left stick up takes me back to the main screen with play, compendium, and so on.2. This is probably related, but when I'm playing, to get to the characters from the cards, so my char and a monster to see what we're doing, I have to hit B, rather than left stick up like before.3. What do the left and right triggers do, and how do you tell? For example, I know in one spot they save or something, because my wife told me. But I didn't see anything about that anywhere.4. How can you get to and manipulate the save slots with the controller?5. Can somebody explain the map? Specifically, I assume from what my wife's said, she can see, you can see paths, if you start on monster 3,0 you get some choices, if you start on 1,2 you get others, stuff like that. She seems to be able to see where these paths go. Can we explore this with the controller, and if so, how?Oh for the stick issue, I haven't messed with the config file at all. I probably hit a button I shouldn't have messing around somewhere.

Re: Smash the cars

It's a fun little game, dig the music, but then I like the ocarina, so I might just be weird. For me it plays for a while, then locks up NVDA. The game keeps going but nothing speaks, even when I close the game, I have to restart NVDA to get speech back.Agree that some of the weapons seem to do nothing, one of them doesn't even have a sound, as far as I can tell. I haven't had an NVDA spam, but then if I don't put NVDA to sleep, I rarely hear the speech of items I pick up, because it just gets cut off. I'll go try it with SAPI for a while and see if that makes it any better.

Re: rb studios's last gift, space mission

So like, back to this game, which seems decent enough.Somebody asked about combat. I'd like to know about that too. I had an evil ship on the same tile as me and I tried the canons and the rapid fire laser on it. Didn't seem to do much, I ran out of energy to fire and eventually got blown up by it or another evil ship. I got round some peaceful ships because I thought they might defend me, but no dice.So yeah, combat, how does it work? Any tips? I'll play around with it myself of course, but tips are always good.
