Thanks, this was very helpful. While we're here, I know this one's a bit off topic but... I'm really not liking the microphone on this headset, and my Yeti cord may be broken as well. Anyone know where I can download a mic? I've kind of been eyeing Dreamcast, so if anyone knows where I can download one of those that would be great.Cheers! Ight. None of yall give me karma for this. Re: What do you think about the Corona virus conspiracy theories?

@2: the answer to your question is yes, as it continues to happen so many times. Will a country kill thousands of its people for its goals? Roflmao yes hahaha! In fact, Russia killed 3m of its people in WWII... by allowing for a war to take place that was fought by soldiers from its country, who were citizens. Every other country has done so as well.As for conspiracy theories, they're so dumb. I never listen to them. I always think: a conspiracy should at worst be ignored, and at best be investigated; though never believed. Like we could go over theories all day long, or as long as we can imagine them, but you literally should not be telling people shit based on a hunch backed by shit tons of confirmation bias.

Re: Using Slang is Homophobic now?

Guh! Yeah I'm sorry man but post 75 in that topic... I honestly expected better. He was presumed homophobic simply for an offhand comment towards "lunatic leftists" which, while the leftists comment was hostile towards well... leftists, is at best a slippery slope, and at worst a baseless accusation that probably should've been reserved for the post-moderation section. I've heard "straight", "straight up", and other variations of the term used in slang -- and while straight tends to be used to describe oneself as heterosexual, it's not used so widely anymore because it has negative connotations. Although, were there even questions, it's always pertinent to ask them and had Nev Ed replied and been a jack ass, that's on him. Although, he could've replied and said... "Yeah nah sorry man, I meant straight is in I'm good." Personally that's how I'd have done it -- respond attacking my character because you presume I meant ill based on my views on something semi-related? (leftist is much more broad than lgbtqia+) -- then yes I will go on the defensive. Ask a question and we'll clear it up real quick. Unfortunately the bottom line is I think you just used a bunch of half-baked connections to weave an imperfect tapestry of perceived attacks, and let it enrage you such that it overtook your common sense. He did not fuck up (which is to say he did not write intended homophobic speech) by writing post 19 -- you can hold the opinion, but you can't decide that factually. Hopefully people can learn to think things out and not be so hairpin trigger, and situations such as this will be avoided in future.Good day.

Re: Distance Learning and Math Courses

@7:Oddly enough so far I've just relied upon the open stax book, and studying. I haven't studied as much as I should which is why I only have the B instead of the A, but I don't care enough to spend so many hours unless it becomes necessary. My strategy is to get the book and find some problems, and then I see how they did it, try it, and if I get one right I try another, and then I look to see if I got the second one I tried right. See, try, try, see. If I find that I'm not sure about the first or second example, or I find that I got it wrong when I tried it out, I go back to the book. If the book still doesn't help me get it, I leave it for now and come back later, refreshed. I then incorporate resources like Khan academy if I still don't get it. I had to get Khan academy to explain the chain rule to me again in order to understand implicit dif, and after I did that I tried and completed my first problem successfully! I think it also takes the determination: in the case of math, I know that there is definitely, 100%, for sure a way -- if there wasn't, it wouldn't have been written down definitively and I wouldn't be having to recreate it. It's one of the few things I, a self-proclaimed pessimist, can think 100% positively about.

I'm in calc I as well. Oddly enough we just got into related rates, having just finished implicit differentiation. I barely understand implicit differentiation -- which is to say if I pull out my book and begin practicing maybe yeah, but I can't just do it yet as I don't remember. Related rates? Yeah ouch still. For those looking for a good, free, accessible online resource for math, check out the materials at cnx.org. It's an initiative called Open Stax - and its materials go far beyond math. You'll find full textbooks on math everything from the intro level. They do have 3 volumes of Calc though, so you can use its material at least through calc 2 and likely into 3. Everything's math ML as well.I used that book religiously during the times my college staff were unable to provide timely material, and got a B on the first calc test without attending tutoring. I suspect that part of that is due to the relative easy beginning Calc 1 stuff, but a good majority of that is due to the well written and comprehensive nature of the books.

Re: Monthly chat March 2020

Well, it's officially day 4 of quarantine, where I've only left my mom's apartment for 30 minutes on Tuesday night to go to the dog park. I elected to go home from my apartment across the state because (A) just in case something happens close to home, and (B) there was nothing I could do in Austin anyway, so I could just elect to be locked up there instead. Much rather be here with my mom who is an LND nurse than across the state trapped and worrying she'll catch the virus. It's also my 21st birthday today, and man the plans changed for that so much. First, I thought I'd be in Austin, going to school, then going to work, then getting drinks with friends. That changed to not having school, so I'd be spending it hanging out and doing something with friends, again still in Austin. Then I thought a few of my really good out of state friends were going to come and spend the week with me down in Austin at my apartment. Now though it turns out I'm with my mom, on indefinite lock down, playing games, and coding, and sleeping to keep sane. Mom's also working today, but luckily she ordered me a bunch of doughnuts for breakfast and we'll be having steaks and hopefully drinks when she gets home.Still this doesn't feel like a birthday, and I don't say that in a winy ungrateful sort of way, just that with everything going on, the quarantine, and today mirroring the last several days, it's hard to wake up into virtually the same routine and go hey, it's my birthday! Cool! As for my job though, I had only just started working there this month. (Remember, on March 3 or thereabouts we still didn't see things getting so bad). I earned my first paycheck on March 20. That also happened to be the same week I found out that work would be suspended indefinitely due to Covid19. I hope all of you are staying well as possible and getting through this madness while still able to keep your brains.

@2:Everyone always talks about the greater good as though it's the only good there is. What about the equal to good or the lesser good? You've taken a bit less than half of a function and went to great lengths to maintain it quite well, but you forget the rest. And if it turns out that good is an infinite function, and the lesser good (that is, the portion of good that falls below the defined point known as the equal good) and the equal good itself are not taken care of, then you've done 0.00% of the required sacrifice. Recall that lesser and equal good still fall within the domain of good itself, so must not be forgotten. If one must perform an operation on the lesser good, then let us not try and perform said operation on the greater good, as doing so may bring about untold mathematical catastrophe. Thanks for coming to my ted talk! It was supposed to be a Ted ed Ned Fred talk, but Ed Ned and Fred went to bed according to what they said, leaving me the only talking head, Ted. Re: Bye!

It's funny. OP is calling out the blind community (a good chunk, that is) - for being ungrateful, winy little shits, but then proceeds to point out that a good reason why they're leaving is that transphobia is present, evidently in uncomfortable amounts on this forum. So in a sense, they're leaving because they feel their group is being attacked, but feel the need to state this fact by attacking a good chunk of another group. So I guess my question is: are you actually an SJW? Or just one of those people who doesn't care as long as you personally are vindicated. Generalizing a good chunk (at least 51%) of the blind community as winy little shits suggests the latter. In which case, we don't need you here, and the progressive movement does not need your voice as it is one which shines negative light upon it. So yeah, bye! Try not to use up any more of anyone's kb with your useless vitriolic nonsense.

Therefore it must be flat, and assuming it is round rejects my fantasy world from your reality. That is a lack of inclusion. It offends me.I know it's not scientific, and I know I rebuked someone yesterday for telling me that God created my flat Earth 6000 years ago on the basis of science, but the Earth is flat. I said so.So before you refer to the world as a globe, or even accidentally use the phrase "around the world" or anything similar, think first: it's not okay to assume.#Inclusion!

Material of this type should probably not be allowed here, but as of right now that is not in the rules. So my suggestion would be to create a rule against this kind of thing, and then close the topic with a final moderation post stating that the new rule would be implemented and that anyone who did this again would be responsible for the consequences or whatever. I don't think that this op should be punished in any way though, since he didn't break a rule, but if he does similar again it should be added to the rules so he can get punished. Again, I read somewhere, so don't necessarily take the figure with 100% correctness -- but even if not a billion, definitely more than 0.As for pot being linked to mental illness, no doubt as you said it's fine in moderation, but that's everything. The one thing that pot has going for it is that it would take an absolutely extraordinarily unrealistic amount to overdose oneself on, though the paranoia, nausea, and emotional wrecking of taking too much should teach someone a good lesson. Here's hoping Texas legalizes it one day, though... uh that'll be the day. Wrong kinda green for a red state I suppose.

I'll give just some examples that come off the top of my head, though note it's not the complete extent: premarital sex even though people are built to have the urge to procreate quite often beyond the age of 10, homosexuality even though there are literally scientific proofs showing differences in the hypothalamus of humans (... and animals! too!) who are attracted to the same sex, and you could even argue that greed and the need to put oneself first come from the survival instinct and the need to live one's best life. My church quickly lost touch with the two girls (one I met, one I didn't get the chance to) who were lesbian -- despite the fact that one of the girls was a great person to be around and, from what I could tell, a good Christian. In terms of capitalism vs socialism, I do agree that the current system just doesn't work for an ideal society. However that doesn't solve the problem, because often times we pay for what we value at the time -- which is to say, football players get a lot more money than, say, sanitary workers even though the ladder is far, far, far more important to society.I'm at an impasse  though, because even though I see the evident flaws in capitalism, I also realize that democratic socialism in its purest form is idealistic. Unfortunately it goes beyond human nature all the way to the animal in us.In terms of the gender pay gap though, that apparently has more to do with the jobs that men and women take being, on average, different from one another, rather than men and women being paid differently for doing the same work. It's kind of like how you could definitely argue that disabled individuals make, on average, less than their able bodied counterparts, but many disabled individuals are assumed to and or placed in menial jobs that don't pay much. Why? Because we obviously can't do what they can.

Man, this is quite tragic indeed. I didn't know him personally, in fact I don't think I ever spoke to him. I remember him from DMNB though, but also that when any rtr server announced Roelvdwal logged in, there was always this sense of excitement/dread at the upcoming fierce competition. @posts like 37: the way I best understand it is - it's not anyone's "fault" for not noticing, per se. You can't necessarily speculate that your actions would've changed anything, because chances are the person who committed did so upon coming to the realization that life is not worth living: their family and friends may be better off without them, they can never be happy, maybe something happened that scarred them in such a way that recovering was hopeless to them, etc. Even if it's all in their mind, which it usually is, the mind is a powerful thing. My condolences to his family and friends, and I'm glad the dude isn't in pain anymore.

My first name here, SevereStormSteve, came about when I created this account fresh out of elementary school. I would give the weather report on the school announcements then, and this would be my name. The Dwarfer came about both because I wanted something unique, slightly cool sounding, and no longer a name I'd had since second grade of course.  Red Dwarf was introduced to me by a really good friend at the time; I watched all of it and read all 4 books (books 1 and 2, and the alternate endings). It was the first show I actually considered myself a fan of, so I picked the name. Not to mention it's not that obvious unless I explain it.

Getting started with Linux Vm?

2019-12-21 Thread AudioGames . net ForumOff-topic room : The Dwarfer via Audiogames-reflector

Getting started with Linux Vm?

Hi guys,So I'm really frustrated. I usually go to google before asking broad questions, and this was certainly no exception. At least an hour of googling turned up next to nothing useful on the subject.I wanted to install a Linux distro in a VM just to mess around. It was fine to begin; I grabbed VM player, downloaded the Linux ISO, and went through the setup wizard.However... how the hell do I get started? I'm running Ubuntu18.04, as that distro is running on my server so I have a tiny bit of experience with it over SSH. I got an image with the Mate desktop environment, but:I don't even know how to interact with the VM. I can start it, it's in the file menu. However then we just have a window with the title of my VM followed by " - VMware Player 15". I have googled and I cannot find getting started guides for interacting with a vm in vm player. (How do I start sending keys to my VM instead of my main PC? How do I stop? I'm not watching a 38 minute YouTube tutorial, and I'm not reading a 31 page 1-word-per-line PDF document that may or may not tell me how to do this because it was on the VMware site and had accessibility in the name. Oh, and I also don't need to know as a sited person the dos and don'ts of testing accessibility with a screen reader using a VM, I actually want to know how to use a VM as a screen reader user but apparently no redundantly clear search can express that well enough). How do I turn on Orca and start using that?I don't expect you guys to answer all these questions if you can't. How the hell did you learn though? I'm genuinly interested in getting up and running with this thing, but at this point if I didn't know other blind people who did it, I'd assume it was inaccessible and call it a chapter. My questions may also be stupid and clueless, but at this point in the game, that's where I am. Everyone starts there though.

Re: two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do, what does this mean

No. Truth is not relative. Truth is absolute, as absolute as the math and science (including that which we haven't figured out yet) proving it. Morality, however, now that's subjective. We can't prove that a God exists, and a lot of science says no it doesn't for example. Yet some people base their whole life around that, and tell other people they're wrong for not believing in that God, as though them being wrong is an absolute and definitive truth. It's not; yet the fact that they are saying those people are wrong is an absolute and definitive truth because it is something which happened and cannot be disproved in the minds of those who witnessed it or so long as evidence can be obtained. However that's also the beauty of truth. We don't have to believe it happened in order for it to be a thing. Morals though? Especially those not backed by scientific fact? We have to believe to make them a thing. The truth will live on long after us, but our morals die when we all do.

Re: two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do, what does this mean

It certainly would, though you missed the point: simply because someone reacted that way that time does not mean that emotion is a governing force in all aspects of their life in all cases. That's a hasty generalization. It simply means that in that case, it was the perceived way (to them) to right that wrong by committing another wrong in the opposite direction to right it. However they would get in trouble because society views that wrong as something separate, meaning it now has 2 negatives (the theft and the response) to deal with separately. Thus, society locks both of you guys up (another wrong, because that's the revoking of some human rights), but considered right because it's a punishment for your wrong. Or, it takes away some of your hard earned cash or forces you to do some free labor (community service) - both wrong because they are things that are not fair in normal context, but you deserved it because you punched someone in the face. Also, taking someone's time or money away for taking money away from someone else? That's what the thief would be dealing with. But it's not wrong, because it's a negative that punishes a negative. So it's positive!See? Take the situation, and ask the right people. The thief was right, he says. He deserved your money because you were an easy target, or he was in hard times, or hell... he was bored. You and everyone else disagree with that. You were right, you and your sympathizers say, because you exacted revenge. That's not what the LJS says though...

See yeah I don't agree with just not teaching them about these things. Maybe not when they don't need them, but definitely when they do. When a 3 year old discovers the stove, it's okay to let them know that touching it will really really hurt them, so they know the consequences. When a 12 or 13 year old discovers feelings of sexuality, it's okay to talk to them about it. Warn them. Hell even punish them for doing something stupid. Sheltering never helped anyone - I'm a firm believer that people should be exposed to the world as they grow into it, slowly, instead of sheltered and indoctrinated with falsities until they suddenly "get older" and it all slams into them with some mighty crash, and the proper support isn't there for them because "oh, you're old enough to handle it. Back then you weren't."

I'm not sure why you'd rather your kids be able to learn about heterosexual love at a younger age but not homosexual love at the same age. I can understand sex changes - because yeah. When you're 12, or even like 18, you're gonna want to be many things that 10 years later, you're not going to want to be. A sex change is an irreversible, permanent life change - and many people our age really don't understand the full scope of that. Hell, I don't - 2 years and the changes that have taken place in that time seem like a pretty sizeable chunk of life to me, and that's because it is. It's 1 10th of my life! I mean on January 4, 2015, I got saved as a born again Christian. Today, I'm an agnostic who rejects religion because I have yet to find a single one that accepts and embraces the complicated intricacies of humanity without trying to suppress and conform them.Homosexual love though. That's not necessarily permanent, unless you're always homosexual and will stay that way. For some I think it's a choice, and that's perfectly fine, but for some it's an actual physical difference in the mind that has them attracted to the opposite sex. Either way, unlike changing your gender and physically altering your body, homosexual relationships are no harm for someone so young to get into because if they one day decide to date someone of the opposite sex because they realize they're attracted to them to, they can, otherwise no. Either way no harm done.

I'm no expert psychologist by any means, so don't quote me 100% accurate on this, but it seems that a lot of depression and other forms of chronic discontentment / negative feeling stems from something constantly causing it I.E. you remembering how effed up your life is or you perceive it to be. (And the above is not an insult to someone, your life being effed up could be that other people / situations are ruining it for you).Part of what I say though is based on my own experience, and I'd rather not be so narrow minded as to believe everyone else is like me. I just know that much more often than not, I find myself feeling anxious or discontent or depressed, and I can't really tell anyone how I can resolve it since quite frankly I don't 100% know why, I just know it's there. As a 3-year-old though, from the memories I do have from that age, I remember that any discontentment would be situational because I was much too young to overthink. 15 minutes ago was... 15 minutes ago, who cared what happened then? It's an interesting theory though, and I'd be interested to know if it is actually possible for young children to somehow be chronically depressed when their memory is such that most can't comprehend and sustain the memory of anything more complicated than the 7 days of the week song.

Most things we do for pleasure, or knowledge seeking, etc, most of those aren't necessary. All that's really necessary is that we breathe, eat, sleep, and have a shelter from the cold, and that some of us procreate. Anything else is basically unnecessary - beyond survival - so hints an invalid point.

To ask, "Seriously?" Is grammatically incorrect. A more favorable alternative might be to ask, "Are you serious?" This better conveys your point and employs a proper sentence structure. In addition, asking if I'm serious is quite pointless, as: (A) yes, I seriously posted this, and (B) it was a legitimate question. I hope I answered your rather odd question.

Re: Dear Blinktards

Hi guys.So first of all: surprisingly, this is not another comment about the topic title! Instead, it's this:Isn't there a logical fallacy for those people who take a part of an analogy that may have come off as negative, and twist it so that the newly created point they formed has that selected part of the analogy, but means something completely different?Original quote:"lets unite as one group. Like NATO or the EU or even frickin ISIS"Responses,:-"So you want us to be  terrorists now? Nope. No thanks."-"you basically said we should act more like isis, and even if it was indirect, the point is still there for all to see."ISIS was an example of a united group who, even though they cary out hanous actions and speak reprehensible words, are united as one. OP was making the (albeit ineffective example) that even the most evil of the evil are able to unite as one group, so why can't we? I'll agree with Burak though, that this was a "Definitely bad choice of words." I couldn't have said it better myself especially because though I know what it was trying to accomplish, it missed the mark both because it was ineffective, and because it will cause people to fixate and warp that like 5% of your otherwise valid though untactful point in that paragraph. Though I insist that there must be a fallacy for this picking apart one little piece of the message and warping it to create a new one, I recognise that it is a thing and a very common thing at that, so would not use this to communicate my message. This was ineffective though because an evil agenda is not an indication of how well a group will band together. We band together to achieve a common goal, looking for those who wish to achieve the same goal and thus can help us or at least validate us. Whether you're raising money for a nonprofit, donation based children's hospital, or rounding up innocent people to lock in concentration camps, you're going to need help and you're going to want to find that help - and you're going to cooperate with the people helping you so long as it serves you and your agenda to do so.Enough said about that. Now, on to the OP:Mind chilling out with the name calling? It really doesn't spread the message of kindness and cooperation. There's a time and place for harsh words, yes, but a hasty generalization is not one of them. You should probably cut the attitude as well, because I'm not inspired. Like at all.I'll layout kinda what you said, but with definitions.Op wrote:The following is addressed to the blind community as a whole.Dear mentally slow, socially awkward people with total vision loss who exhibit uncontrollable eye movements due to nystagmus:we should (all) stop acting superior to one another, and cut the hostile, angry, and bitchy attitudes.

Everyone's different my dudes, and let's give 'em all a chance til they fuck up too badly. What's great about if they're kids is that hey, they'll learn a lesson, and they are very easily changed -- more so than the older population.

Kind of a rant

Hi guys,so you know what annoys me, in 2019, among other things? When I download a new app or visit a new website, I often have these first thoughts:-Will it do what I need it to do? Normal.-Is it better than the alternatives? Again, normal.-Will I even be able to use it - is it accessible? Yeah. Not normal.See the thing is, and I mean I don't care if this sounds entitled or not, because it is literally just what it is. Failure to make apps / websites inaccessible at this point is not ignorance. It is not some kind of honest mistake. It's not some accidental oversight that is not the fault of the company. No, it's literal negligence. I could type into google, "How to make my website accessible." And I would find a wealth of resources explaining that very thing. Ya know, an amount of resources comparable to that which I'd find if I typed, "How to make my website look pretty and shiny."If web and software accessibility really just is this oh so obscure thing, then why are there so many articles, interviews, people etc discussing it? If you can research how to make your website look attractive and more intuitive, why can't you also research how to make it accessible? I mean look. At least if you're going to have that generic line in the TOS about no discrimination against [insert list here], deliver on that. Please prove you're not just copypasting a line into your file so you don't get slammed by the supreme court for something. If there's one thing I've seen with 90% of the companies with online aspects I've dealt with, it's that accessibility comes after being the latest and greatest in their minds. One example is that when my apartment complex got purchased by this out of state conglomerate, the accessible and perfectly usable web portal they had got replaced with this barely 50% usable app with a bunch of I'm sure elegant looking images and icons for each and every button. I can't even set up recurring payments on it because that feature is completely unusable with VO.I know these apps are for completely different purposes but - travelosity has date selection buttons, I can use those perfectly fine. So does Instacart. Both aforementioned also have text fields where you have to enter information that are perfectly usable. My point? It's not impossible, and in fact it's not going to be harder to use those GUI modules as opposed to the inaccessible ones. Some companies just neglect their own terms of service though and choose to leave assistive technology users in the dust because "we just didn't know."Funny how that probably wouldn't fly as an excuse if one of their employees said it when massively screwing up a task they were given. No, the company would probably point to the employee's available training material.Welp, just goes to show that any old lazy ass can sit and talk your ear off about going for a walk. At the end of the day though, it'll just have been too cloudy, or too sunny and hot, or too windy for them to go today. Maybe tomorrow. Or? Nah, it's still summer, I'll do it when fall comes around.

Re: I'm leaving for now

One thing I wanted to say, since the topic of mental illness and depression has been prevalent in this topic. May be a bit of a text wall, but hey ya know. Were I not his friend, I'd feel strongly sympathetic for Sam upon seeing this post. I have witnessed over the years - not as a friend, but as a fellow forum member and gamer - Sam developing games, making some stupid mistake as a kid that caused his sources to be leaked, and trying to make sure they don't spread. He's however not perfect, having carried out a couple actions in particular a couple years back that would be considered annoying in the least, pretty fucked up in the worst. Now as someone who knows him very well, I constantly see Sam from day to day trying to improve himself. Even when his depression was really bad though, he helped many people - with money, coding, security, and... believe it or not even life advice. Of all the times I've asked him to help, he's done so readily and without request for compensation. And believe me, he's helped me with a *lot* of stuff. So I feel bad for him both as a witness, and a friend to his situation. Some may recall the days when Danny, another former game developer, left the community. He posted similarly about being/feeling depressed. I did not have the same reaction, despite the fact that at one point, Danny helped me as much and in some ways more than Sam does at this point, him being my only friend at one time. I ridiculed him, and I did so quite persistently - because of his actions: blaming the community, faulty game development + superiority complex, unwillingness to change, selfish thinking, and a tendency to screw people over. Now I've compared 2 people who both were or are my friends, have helped me a lot, etc, to attempt to clear the air that my feelings and actions in these situations are not necessarily swayed by how a person has treated just *me*.So now, let's go to a stranger to me in terms of friendship, Mason. I was never Mason's friend over the years - I didn't always dislike him, but we never talked enough to call one another friend. In my opinion a friend is someone you know and talk to, not someone you say hi to in passing, and that's all Mason was. However, reading Mason's posts here, and recently, and having followed him on Twitter and seen his posts there, I don't feel bad for him, similarly to how I don't feel bad for Danny any longer and haven't for 2 years. Here's why:  In my opinion, we cannot prove there is a God, simulation, ultimate judge, fate, what have you. We have no proof that someone is deciding moral wrong and right in our world aside from one another. Therefore, to me, you are in control of your actions and feelings - and other people are in control of how they respond to how you treat them. If you were insane and killed someone in someone else's family, now a days they wouldn't kill you because the legal justice system which attempts to maintain order will punish you for your crime. By living in our society, the person who's relative you killed has agreed to abide by the law and let it serve justice on their behalf rather than carrying out the action themselves, because unless they are a radical anarchist they believe that such a system maintains order and control, and is currently the most fair way we can do so. If they then agree to that and decide to enact revenge on you, or take their pain out on someone else, they've now committed a whole new, unrelated act of injustice - one that we just try to relate to "your" actions because had you not done it, they would not have reacted that way. However, they did react that way.I know that Mason has not killed anyone, and that anything he did was not near as serious. I am however comparing cutie oranges to massive oranges, not oranges to apples. I do not know how bad Mason's depression is or even if he has depression, but I can only go on the fact that he does because he's said he does and that's all the viable proof I have. However, I am choosing not to feel in the least bit bad for him because like Danny, he has done bad things in the name of this "depression." He's back stabbed his friends, he's gone against their wishes, he's shat on the audio gaming community numerous times, and he's gone back on his word just as many. Some may say he has no obligation to uphold his word, but then other people have no obligation to feel sympathy and or respect for him. And that's just the beauty of individuality. He, like Danny, chose to react in a negative way towards people who never wronged him, in the name of actions that other unrelated people and situations have done/caused. I can shout abuses at a hammer all night long and it's not going to jump off the desk and bash a hole in the wall in anger - because unlike a human, it can't.I see him having mental breakdowns sometimes and most of the time, I scroll past it. If it's long and detailed and takes more than a second to scroll past, I may chuckle

All you can come back with is... "but but but... I'm not the only one too, you know. Sam did bad things too, you know."Okay then, mind offering up some proof? What did Sam do wrong here? Rather than taking personal responsibility you choose to deflect some of the blame off of you and on to someone else without a base to do so? You seem to discredit Carter's argument simply based on the fact that he's Sam's friend. That argument is incredibly fallacious, considering that of the 200+ posts here there are multiple hostile comments towards you, and you can only refute Carter's directly because he's Sam's friend. If you can do as people have done in this topic and offer irrefutable proof that Sam is in the wrong here, I'll concede, however realize that whatever Sam did wrong does not justify your own actions. In bar fights usually both parties get arrested for throwing punches, not just the guy who threw the third punch. The other guy doesn't just get to say well hey, he did some damage too, so why so angry?Except your own fucking wrong and quit bringing other people into it for once. Christ dude.

I know there are a lot of blind people here like myself, and several of you have worked and been in college. What has your experience been / where do you recommend I look? Thanks!Edit: I'm not too particular in terms of where it is, though I'd prefer to work at a grocery store or some other environment where - I may have to serve customers, but not serve food to them.

Re: Satire Topic for Recent Forum Events

Aside from agreeing that this wasn't quite up to par, I see no issue with it either. We know what he's mocking because we saw the topic, but he himself never stated names or a direct target, and nor did he affirm or deny peoples' guesses as to what it was referring to. No direct attack on anyone as far as I can see.

@Liam:What is a "turn key solution?"Like I said I know nothing about server administration or working with Linux. I hope that's not the only way I could get what I wanted.

Re: Your recommendations and experiences with shared web hosting?

First @Jack I've replied to the message.Unfortunately, I've heard some bad things about Bluehost in terms of that. I didn't understand what part of that song was saying, but I've heard other people tell me that they tend to charge you out the ass when your bandwidth starts going up.The one good thing about wordpress.com as it stands now is that with my 10 gb limit, I also get a 1gb max file size. Doubt I'll find that other places... but who knows, maybe? Either way, yeah I'm going to be really careful on this one.
