IF you have a dell, you could use dell mobile connect but you'll need sighted help to set it up. It doesn't let you use your soundcard on your computer to hear your phone's audio though. Maybe bluetooth speaker app in windows store, but I've never been able to get those working with my external bluetooth receiver.

Instacart can sometimes be expensive, but for the most part they don't change prices enough that you realize there's any difference. At least if you have premium. Tipping is the only new variable, which you should think is  important, since they are doing the work for you, again the prices for staples feel the same to me, but I guess it depends on where you are.

Re: Is it worth it to do a clean install of windows with a new laptop?

Chris wrote:I recommend using a USB drive with the Windows installer. The reset options use existing files on your computer and may not give you the best clean install experience if something is seriously broken. Download the Media Creation Tool and use it to create a bootable USB device. Boot from that and follow the prompts, erasing your entire boot drive along the way.You shouldn't need to enter a product key if your computer is new enough. Starting with Windows 8, the license information is built into the BIOS, so the installer should detect it automatically and proceed. If not, select the correct edition of Windows that your computer was running. Once you connect to the Internet, it should automatically activate. You can check this by going to Settings>Update>Activation. If it's still not activated, get a sighted person to read the product key printed on your computer. Enter this and it should activate Windows and associate the license with your hardware. If you perform clean installs in the future, you won't have to enter the product key because it will automatically activate when you connect to the Internet. Finally, it's worth noting that you can activate Windows with Windows 7 or 8.x product keys. Just senter the product key and it should activate. It's very useful for upgrading old computers that came with Windows 7 to a properly activated Windows 10 system.Great advice. I agree. You never know if those files in reset this PC were modified. PC venders can also install their crapware through that process, so it's best to make your own USB with the media creation utility, or go out and get an iso and use rufus to create it.

As for signal desktop, you can also make calls with it. The process is to expand the menu thing around the send a message part, and after that you will notice at the top two buttons, call , and video call buttons. I have no idea about web. Re: frustrated with blindness (read post if you want context)

I wasn't done learning grade 2 Braille until I could spell the contractions in different words. I guess I had a good vision teacher, because to me that basically overrides the issues with contractions people are saying. Braille is much to slow to avoid the contractions entirely. I'm not a fan of  Unified English Braille Code either, because of math and space reasons as well.

Re: frustrated with blindness (read post if you want context)

camlorn wrote:@74The problem with training is twofold, but what you're seeing here is specifically problems with the NFB.  There's a lot of history there, but the short version is that the NFB did a lot of advocacy in the 80s and 90s, and as part of that it had to be "blind people are independent", and now it's almost ableist "if you're blind, you should never ask for help" extremism. The other problem is schools and organizations which have liability concerns.  There's the safe way to do everything, and the effective way to do everything, but no one can teach the effective way because the effective way is generally dangerous-ish at the beginning and no one wants to take that risk.  For an example of this, my favorite thing to complain about is how blind people are taught to use knives.  It's almost universally you get a fork and you put your left hand wy at the top of the fork and then you do this complicated thing with using the fork as a guide.  You know what sighted people do?  Fuck the fork, and grip the food in a specific way that's not super dangerous for your knuckles, then have at it.  You know where all 10 fingers are when I chop stuff?  Within 2 inches or less of the blade.  But no one will teach you that kind of thing, because you could lose a finger during training, then lawsuit/bad publicity etc etc etc.The problem with blind people training blind people is that the trainee needs to have a basic level of competence first.  A lot of O requires being able to see the trainee for safety purposes.  If they're at the point where you can trust that the trainee isn't going to get hurt, that opens up options.  Same thing with e.g. the above about knives, lots of other things.  Tell someone to use a knife how I do, and if you can't see they've got their thumb in the wrong place, then they've lost a thumb.I think how this goes for most of us is that we learn the safe way, then develop efficiency on our own.Agree with this, and some of the posts since my last post concerning asking for help. I do think in a lot of cases it would be best if the blind would train the blind, but if your family fights you, it's kind of hard to force your way into a situation and force to help. I'm not saying you always have to be sympathetic to a situation, but maybe a little compassion wouldn't kill you, because driven independents doesn't help in all cases either...

Apple is selling a lightning to 3.5MM for these that's at a premium. You can't just use an existing adapter, it has to be the $35 US one. There's a trend in the blind community to use transparency mode with the air pods pro for mobility in safer situations etc. I bet these would work better than air pods pro for that kind of use case, but I don't know if transparency mode on these would be closer to 100% or not. I own air pods pro, and IMPO, the air pods pro transparency mics clog much to easily for that use case, but this might be better for long-term use for this kind of thing. We'll have to wait and see.

Hey guys, I'm loving this OS. I got sighted assistance to install this OS, and I like it the most of the Linux distributions I've used for szpeed. I'm having an issue using chronium based things on this OS. Basically none of the flags I use work, such as force-renderer-accessibility etc. Is there a workaround?

I'll attempt to take a stab at this... Been a while since I've used Azuracast. I think, either just in the bleeding edge version or in both stable and beta not sure, you can check a checkbox beside your folder, and then go back to the top of the table and expand add button, and select your created playlist. I never used automation seriously on that thing so I could be mistaken.

IPTV is just tv over the internet. There are two types of service, M3u, and Mag. Mag uses settop boxes , or you can use emulators. I've only used m3u myself. It's much easier to deal with. You can use VLC, or what I use for playing back these is DVBViewer.

Since I didn't want to download and extract random zip files unless I had to, I would install with apt-get install pidgin.* and apt-get install purple.* to get them all, because pidgin is the only thing to use both those terms, so no downside to using a wildcard.
