Yeah, it's just a little inconsistent sometimes like where the description of the attack will show up and stuff. Really, the game is self-explanatory most of the time, but I figure giving a little more help to new players won't hurt. It's better than people continuing to complain that we don't have any cool games to play, while Dissidia is there waiting for them and just needs notes cobbled together.I don't have enough patience to jump around the map. Duodecim is manageable if you're willing to jump all over the map trying to find the way. The thing with the r button is useful for when you want to find an advantageous position to approach the enemy. For example, I might use it to feel around for a spot to move my piece so that it is surrounded on 3 sides to minimize the number of turns I use, but dont want to accidentally trigger a less advantageous battle with only 2 pieces instead of 3. So I use it a lot rather than just recklessly moving around. In dissidia, the field consists of a number of pieces which include yourself, the enemies, chests, and an end point. Your goal is to move your piece accross the field until you reach the end, taking care of anything and looting any chests that may be in the way. You do this by selecting your piece with the cross button, moving with the arrows, and confirming with the cross buttons. If you move between enemies, or into a position where they surround you on two sides, they may and will automatically engage you, and you will be forced to battle them. This only happens if they are both 1 square away from you. If you have not yet selected your piece, you can press the r button and explore your surroundings with a curser. Note that this only works in the first dissidia. Whether in this mode or while your piece is selected, you can cancel your movement with the circle button. Square is to bring up your consumables, which you can pick with the arrows and choose with cross. Triangle is to bring up the menu. I think that is it. Other than that the regular battles are manageable, and story cutscenes are unlocked through regular gameplay over time rather than put into a dedicated mode. On the one hand that means you dont have to deal with open world segments, but on the other hand it means you play through the other mode just that there aren't a whole lot of them especially since online support will be ending for it soon. I also do not think this game has a command mode as the other games did. Basically, it involves getting AltStore, then signing up for the Patreon and getting the beta, bugging the developer about accessibility using this issue:https://github.com/rileytestut/AltStore/issues/145signing up for one of the AltStore sources, like Sidia repositories, getting PPSSPP from there, tweaking the PPSSPP INI configuration file, and figuring out which joystick presses get you to the game. And yes, it supports game controllers. I have the Game Vice controller, which basically makes my phone look like a large PSP. If you're on iOS 13, you can also use PS4 and Xbox One controllers, too. So it's a pretty long process, but it shouldn't take more than a few hours at most.Also, you can copy your game save data across from PC to phone, and phone to PC… Assuming you have a way to access iCloud Drive or OneDrive or something. That one should also have notations for the PSP version as well as the campaign is pretty similar, with some added content and gameplay tweaks for the psp port. For example, the psp port is more forgiving on its default difficulty, but you can unlock a harder difficulty that mirrors the gba's default difficulty. I use that in every character which I level up.I admit, I still don't understand Igdra Union. If some one puts together a guide on that, or does a tutorial on that, I may pick it up. I think that everyone has at least 1 such string. Also playing in command mode might help a bit with targeting. I thought that equipment didn't read, but I found that when looking at it, your stats are shown in order of hp, CP, BRV, Attack, defense and luck which shows how the item affects it. So for instance, the first weapon you get only gives attack +4, but at least I can know that. Accessaries read much simpler. I'm happy how easy customising is. any idea on how many passives we can have at once? for instance, if I equip the autoex skill to master it. I didn't even know you could master skills in this, so that's interesting. crafting as well. This game is insane. I'm not the best at short range combat, so I just use her BRV attacks, and later on her leveling, the HP attack that's called… Meltdown I think? I'm learning more about the attack names, as well as strategy, through the Dissidia Discord. But near the end, you can string an awesome BRV and an HP attack, and if in Ex-mode, you can do the HP one *twice*, then go right into the Ex-burst! Re: Dissidia Final Fantasy: a Final Fantasy game we can all enjoy for all the dissidia games, including 012, I like cloud the most. great HP attacks, especially the one with a 3 hit combo, and his X-burst is one of the easiest than other characters. the second one that I really like, is gabranth. this one is not available from the start, you have to complete his story first and buy him at the PP catalogue. although in his normal form he doesn't have lots of BRV and HP attacks, but in his X-burst mode there are lots of attacks that you can try out, and his special is quite easy too.as for 012, I like both squall and yuna. they have long range attacks, both for BRV and for HP attacks, and some of them are quite powerful. Terra has a nice hp attack that keeps going and going if it hits the enemy and you activate x mode while performing it. Onion can string together a whole bunch of bravery and hp attacks, but of course you have to unlock and equip it. Warrior of light's hp attacks have a wide radius. And that's just some example of why I like different characters for different reasons. If I had to pick a favorite, though, it would have to be cloud. He is the first character I veat the main campaign with, plus as I said earlier, his special is the easiest. Sephiroth has the similarly performed special, but I still prefer cloud. There are other characters with easy specials, too, like squall and titus. It's not just the gates you need to unlock and open either, around the world are scattered chests with stuff you might miss wandering around blindly. I think at one point I just got fed up with wandering around and called in my brother to help. It works differently depending on what dissidia you play in terms of button layout, but similarly in function. I will do my best to describe how it is used, and yes, it is quite accessible.Your bravery attack is the first option of the menu in dissidia, but is tied to the circle button in 012. Press it to command your character to perform a bravery attack, and they will at an opportune moment. If you have a dash ability equipped, issuing the command will cause your character to dash in range in the dissidia, but triangle is to dash in 012. Simply issue the command again to tell your character to attack.The next option under bravery is your hp attack, which in 012 is tied to the square button. This functions in the same way as the bravery command, so I wont write it out. Under the hp attack is the guard command. Press this for your character to block an incoming attack. Not sure what button this tied to in 012, but I think it may be cross, if not then its triangle and cross is to dash.To the right of the guard command is the x special command. This is important because guard is the last command in the list, and this is how you will know, since you cant go left or right on any other option. This command is tied to holding r and pressing square in 012. Use it to enter x mode after you have a core or full gage. To perform your x special, issue your hp attack again while your character is hp attacking the enemy. If you get your enemy into a rebound, you can attack their bravery with the bravery command or circle buttons in both games, or hp attack command or the square buttons in both games. Unfortunately I do not remember to activate a summon if it isnt automatic, but someone can fill that out if they can figure it out.In the old games of final fantasy, you can flee a battle by holding both shoulder buttons. This is important, because that is how you flee in command mode. Additionally, I believe you can level up your character's ai, or give them an ai boost for command mode. Pretty sure that ai boost is a thing. Remember that command in 012 does not use the arrows at all, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but definitely navigating command with arrows is strictly a feature of the first game.I hope that helps. I like 012, but it has too many free roaming sections. A big draw for me in any game is single player content, which is why dissidia is a more appealing option. @slj You can also try dissidia nt on the pc. Only thing I dont like about that one is the lack of a proper story mode. So you have to play through the game's other modes to unlock story cutscenes. You can customize your character to add that. If enough people become interested, I'll do a tutorial about that. Also, when you join the Discord, you can download a "tournament pack" which contains a save file, 100% completed and customized, so you don't have to activate any ex-burst command assist or anything. I even bought a second umd copy for my brother so we could fight one another. And now I have a digital copy on my vita. Few games I ever buy more than once, but this is one of them.You can also make replays of your fights and convert them to .avi format. I think there is a video on youtube somewhere of me fighting my brother with onion knight, somehow managing to pull off the inaccessible special and beating him while using rpg mode. Dissidia Final Fantasy: a Final Fantasy game we can all enjoy With the Final Fantasy 7 remake coming, I thought I'd bring focus to the Final Fantasy fighting game, called Dissidia. In it, you have the main character and rival of the first ten, or in DuoDecim's case, 12, Final Fantasy games, in one world, fighting for the gods of order and chaos. It is more than just a fighting game, however. It does have an "arcade" mode, or simple battles, but also has a story mode, RPG type story mode, ways to unlock new characters, stages, and battle music, and even a way to listen to all of the music in the game. Characters gain experience after each battle. When enough experience is collected for a character, that character levels up, gaining the ability to use new attacks.Speaking of attacks, there are three slots, three for ground, three for air, for both HP (hitpoints), and BRV (bravery) attacks, Bravery used to lower opponents' defense. This allows characters to be customized greatly, meaning that a character can be made into your personal play style.Even in combat, the game is more than just a fighting game. One can send a foe flying, then chase the opponent, attacking further for even more damage, or to weaken their defense further. Ex-cores can be gathered as they appear on the battle field to raise a character's ex-gauge, and when full, a character can enter a mode of even more power, with the ability to unleash a devastating attack on the opponent, possibly winning the match.These games were originally released for the PSP (Playstation Portable), but can be emulated perfectly on a computer, using PPSSPP with screen reader's OCR and online play, or Retroarch with its accessibility and OCR.The gameplay is 3D, with characters able to do ground and air combat. All characters have different move sets, voices, stories, and play styles, but the controls are the same. Original Dissidia has an accessible story mode, but less characters, and is not widely played online. Dissidia DuoDecim has more characters, and is played online in the Discord community of Dissidia, but its story mode is not accessible, however can be played with astronomical patience, determination, and luck. Dissidia Final Fantasy: a Final Fantasy game we can all enjoy With the FinalFantasy 7 remake coming, I thought I'd bring focus to the Final Fantasy fighting game, called Dissidia. In it, you have the main character and rival of the first ten, or in DuoDecim's case, 12, Final Fantasy games, in one world, fighting for the gods of order and chaos.These games were originally released for the PSP (Playstation Portable), but can be emulated perfectly on a computer, using PPSSPP with screen reader's OCR and online play, or Retroarch with its accessibility and OCR.The gameplay is 3D, with characters able to do ground and air combat. All characters have different move sets, voices, stories, and play styles, but the controls are the same.
