Re: Guitar?

Hi, if your blind like me, the best way to learn is to take lessons. There are videos you can find online on youtube, but they are for sighted people. I learned by ear, and i play many other insterments. If your sighted, go on youtube and search something like how to play guitar, or something like that. Thanks, rory.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172071#p172071

Re: Guitar?

Why are you trying to avoid taking lessons?  That's a great resource that you're not even considering. Most blind people I know who play guitar (or any other instrument) have learned to play by ear.  If they don't have perfect pitch, some develop it, and learn from there. If you're not willing to take lessons, for some strange reason, the only thing I can suggest is experiment.  Just screw around and see where you get.  Off hand, I don't know any resources; however, Dancing Dots might have something.Cheers.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172089#p172089

Re: Guitar?

Hi TomSawyer.Well there is one good teacher on youtube I think the channel is called guitarjams or you can go to guitarjams.com. The guy's name is marty something or the other and he will sometimes describe the finger positions he's using to play a song. He's very nice you should send him an email and he might have a  more descriptive lesson for you. When you go to youtube type in beginner guitar lessons and you wil actually get some good ones.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172142#p172142

Re: Guitar?

Taking lessons isn't always necessarily the easy way out.  In fact, I encourage you to see what you're capable of first before going to an instructor for further playing.I'd suggest getting use to the layout of the guitar, whether it be positioning your fingers on the frets and conditioning your finger strength, or adjusting to a picking pattern with a plectrum. If you like, PM me and I will help you get started.Best Regards,LukeURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172251#p172251
