To be fair, frost is unlockable. Shao Kahn should've been tied to story as well, but go figure, they want money.Oh, and one more thing I forgot... the absense of a playable tag team mode when it's... already... in, the damn game... in the towers. In the battles that just have you and one other person, you can in fact tag in and out.

The thing I hate the most about this game is gears. Back in the old days we play the game and able to unlock characters. Now MK step away from that. For example, MK9 we got to unlock two characters, Cyber Sub-Zero and Quan Chi. I wish they don't use all the gears.

So I think part of me is slightly regretting buying the game day one... don't get me wrong, purely as far as the actual fighting goes it's pretty good, and I think it's fun. The problem for me lies in just how annoying unlocking stuff is this time around, specifically brutalities. what with the krypt being unplayable and character towers being grindy and/or short timers... I have to watch the exact same two throw animations 50 times just to progress to the end of stage 1? Seriously? And yes, there actually are timed character towers that some brutalities are locked behind, not the summoned ones you pay for. Also, maybe this is just me... but when people actively tell others to get turbo controllers just so they can have the AI play a game for you to get currencies to unlock stuff without you having to just sit there and press X, seems like there's... just a bit of a problem there. lolBut again, having said that, if they'd at least made brutalities available from the start even if you couldn't see the requirements, I'd be perfectly content with the game and just messing around with the towers and wouldn't be making this post. I don't care about augments, new gear or skins, so I'd never have to touch the krypt, or have to do/watch the same things over and over to be able to progress in a character tower that I already put 25/50K coins into.

A lot of the community agrees with you there... the grind even just in general is unreal. At least they're working on the towers to be less frustrating though, although it remains to be seen whether or not the one patch was all we're gonna get, or if there'll be more.Also I'd just like to state how absurdly inconsistent it is that AI fighters can seemingly do brutalities you yourself haven't unlocked yet... I saw my Scorpion do a demon breath brutality just now. It is not unlocked, I only have his throw one which I believe is the default.

you get two from the character towers, then if there is a tower where the character you want is the boss, you get a random brutality from that.  the other one lies in the associated heart chest.  Looks like there are multiple ways of earning most of them.Can I just say though that the progression here absolutely sucks when compared with Injustice 2?I loved the multiverse in that game.  Story tidbits, possible rewards in every match.  Here, the towers are overall just not fun in the slightest.  It's lucky the gameplay is incredibly fun.

So sad thing that just happened...Was playing the current raid tower against Baraka with 2 randoms. We were doing well... got him down relatively low.I was up last... landed a bicycle kick krushing blow, Baraka hit 30 percent and got his FB, I was still at relatively good health... got slammed by I think a rocket that took literally half my health away in a single hit... game over because the AI followed up with a combo. These frickin' modifiers, man.

Don't feel to bad.I thought their were only a few tutorials as well until I read something about a frame data tutorial online.Then I went to advanced offence and pressed right... And, Oh MY!Their are what first appears to be only three tutorials, but basics and character tutorials are each on a separate roe so it looks like the menu only goes up and down when it actualy has four roes but the second and third have three tutorials on each one.Hope that helps.Later!

Not to sound unthankful; because I'm not in any way, but could we also have the commands for advanced defence, frame data and the like?Frame data doesn't have any movie things to watch, and advanced defence is tricky because one of the videos is either wrong, or I'm just not pressing the correct commands.I haven't even looked into the other ones like positioning and whatever the other one is.I got frustrated with the other two and decided to just take a breather and calm down until more commands get posted.I'm really looking forward to finishing this tutorial mode, even if I still can't play the game like a proe because I can't read the text and get anything out of the tutorials...Later!

To enable the AI fighter in any of the towers.   Select your fighter with A/X,  then press X/square  to turn on AI fighter.  And just hit a/X as you normally would to continue on.  Hope that helps.  The buttons are Xbox/PlayStation respectively. Not sure what it would be on the switch.

If you get enough high votes, like 300+, then NRS's community managers might see your posts. although the  head moderator there has mentioned that you can PM him your issues and he might take it to someone, so not sure.@dan_C, I think the wb accessibility email is sort of a joke or put up there to fill in whatever law they needed to abide to. from the looks of it, they never reply to the emails sent there.

You have to claim the thank you reward by May 6.That's the one with all the krypt money.I think, on Xbox, you'd need to press the left bumper, then the R button.Sorry I haven't owned an xbox in a decade or more.But then you'd need to press your default front punch button to claim rewards.If I'm not mistaken, that's the x button.Please post here if that doesn't work for you.Later!

For all wanting rewards, you need to claim not just your story completion progress at any time, but also the thank you gift before May 6.Here's how to do it on ps4.1. boot up game and get to main menu.2. press L2.3. Press R1.Now you're in the notification hub.If you've finished the story mode like I did, you'll have several rewards to claim, and they're all out of order.For each thing you've done that has one, press the Square button to claim the reward.It'll take a few seconds for online verification, but then you'll get stuff.Sorry that's not vary helpful, but it was a lot of stuff for me.The thank you rewars is a little different as it'll take two square presses to get.It's 500,000 krypt koins, 100,000 sole fragments, and I think 1000 time crystals.Once you clear out the notification screen, square will do nothing, and you can't move up or down either.The next tab ober is dayly challenges, and you press X to get those; you know, just FYI...Also, pressing R2 on the main menu opens the shop, so, don't go there... Unless; of course, you; for some reason; want to buy time crystals or, something...Later!

slj, it is not complicated, but just too much to do, NRS should have done this for us and not released the game with different abilities.Just focus on the character you like and fix the two variations. fixing the entire roster takes about 40-50 minutes and may sound overwelming.If you think you didn't get it, let me know so i can help you further.

The notation isbutton/ps4/xbox1/square/x2/triangle/y3/x/a4/circle/bSo it's 1/square/x to access presets. 3/x/a would equip/unequip an ability you're focused on or choose the preset if you're in the menu.

to fix your  variations and set them correctly to tournament mode for ranked and such for practicing:1. go to customize, go to character, and choose your character. the character selection does not talk but it's similar to the one that used for fighting.2. you'll be  focused on your first variation, which thanks for NRS is a random variation not related to the tournament or ranked mode variations, most likely. going right focuses on the second variation, going right  focuses on create a custom variation.3. focus on first variation, go in. at this point you are on the gear selection screen for that variation. you need to go to the next tab twice. for PC it is E and Q, and pressing E twice takes you to the abilities page for that variation.4. Now. You need to press the button #3 in mk notation to open the presets menu. I think it is X on ps4 and A on xbox. can someone please confirm this? This is also A on the keyboard.Now if you OCR, you will see a list of presets. you need to press up three times to focus on the first  tournament/rank variation preset and confirm to adjust the abilities, and up twice for the second one. if you do up once, that is a slot called, "empty". to fix your  variations and set them correctly to tournament mode for ranked and such for practicing:1. go to customize, go to character, and choose your character. the character selection does not talk but it's similar to the one that used for fighting.2. you'll be  focused on your first variation, which thanks for NRS is a random variation not related to the tournament or ranked mode variations, most likely. going right focuses on the second variation, going right  focuses on create a custom variation.3. focus on first variation, go in. at this point you are on the gear selection screen for that variation. you need to go to the next tab twice. for PC it is E and Q, and pressing E twice takes you to the abilities page for that variation.4. Now. You need to press the button #3 in mk notation to open the presets menu. I think it is X on ps4 and A on xbox. can someone please confirm this? This is also A on the keyboard.Now if you OCR, you will see a list of presets. you need to press up three times to focus on the first  tournament/rank variation preset and confirm to adjust the abilities, and up twice for the second one. if you do up once, that is a slot called, "empty". It will clear out your equipped abilities.5. select your preset and you'll be back on ability page for your variation. go back once and you'll be in variation selection screen. for now you've saved your variation but for renaming it to the correct preset, i'm going to see how it's done on consoles so i can help you guys.On PC, focus on your variation, press m, then press a to edit. backspace to clear, then write the correct name, press enter to confirm, then press m again to save.'note 1. some variations have the correct tournament/rank abilities, but the wrong name. but i went ahead and corrected all my characters to their proper presets just to be sure.note 2. remember that after setting these presets, there are still unused abilities that you can have fun with. you need to create a custom variation and add those in, i might cover that one in a audio tutorial or something.note 3. i have no idea why NRS made such a shit show about this. basically the default variations are fine for playing, but have completely different names from the actual ranked variations and i think about half of them come with the wrong abilities if you care to practice with tournament/rank variations.This is slightly important because in websites such as kombatakademy, there are combo guides but it is for  tournament/rank variations and if you don't have the right abilities you might end up  being confused

Hi.For those who didn't know, nrs released a patch where they fixed the towers of time difficulty curve, the patch was out for ps4 this morning but should arive on other platforms in the near future, or maybe it already came around.I hope they fixex the pc audio problems there.Greetings Moritz.

Rounds are set to 3 in towers and story mode except for Chronica arcade which is 1 round but 4 for Chronica as she has more bars than you.Only local battle and tournament can be changed in the respective settings menus.Would also like a tutorial guide.Later!
