yes a week or two ago i believe it was starddled that was trolling with bases, saying stupid shit like i fucked your mum and stuff like that. he or she ended up making like 99 bases and now i can't play on battlefield cause of the damn lag.The bases were funny for about the furst 10 then it got annoying, then spammy but unfortunately i have no way to contact admins, or i didn't but this still isn't a good way to do so.So if anything can be done about scm's  millions of troll bases i really hope its done soon. And i really think it would be nice to ban things like barricade bombs, mines and the like on sky  islands and sky beam. thanks for hearing me out and have a good day!

I hate posting a lot in topics cause I'm scared I'm gonna get half the army directed toward me. I don't play redspot cause I was supposedly meant to be unbanned from it only a couple weeks after my banned date, and I was really hope for a fresh start, a start where I wasn't a pussy, came forward, did shit that I was supposed to do. but Its been what, 3 months now? *sadly sits at his computer looking at a (Redspot version 0.91.0, not responding) window, which I think means I'm banned. So, as sad as ever, I mope off and pointlessly rage at eurofly, not being able to fly properly. . My friend (same countri as me) somewhy can't play on battlefield. When he switch to it it starts to lag with extreme amount of lag. He has connection and computer resources, any ideas why happens it? Umm and he can play on killing ground, just battlefield lags. For me it's all good, sometime a little ping but nothing else.

Didn't fix anything? How about being constantly sniped/killed by players that are simply impossible to kill due to outrageous amounts of health/shields/stats.OP teams are still a big issue, but their is unfortunately an extremely simple remedy, wait until the team is offline and destroy/lockpick the base without any opposition what so ever. A reset, in a game like redspot, would basically be saying hey I know you've collected a bunch of items but well, sorry.For the killingground, as stated in the motd, the feature should be treated experimentally, and as such we're discussing items that shouldn't be used on the map as well as a few other possible approaches. I totally understand this, many times I've been killed by those with a m24/mlk before I really had the chance to item grab. Also, the newest update makes it so players can only be on for an hour, before their automatically teleported.An AFK time limit is actually in the code, just need a sound and we're good to go.

As much as I like the update, you didn't really fix anything. You've added a killing ground map, which is good, but you didn't fix the issues with OP bases or OP teams. People still can block sky island and have it in their control, which is what I thought you wanted to fix. Players can sit on the server for days without being booted, just being afk and waiting for someone to walk by before turning their afk off, chasing the player down and killing them. On top of it all, the killing ground is pretty small, so sometimes you spawn next to someone and they take you out with 4 or so shots. Sadly, the only way I see to fix it is a server reset every couple of hours, and I know your really against it these days, but it would fix all your problems, allowing you to work on adding new features to the game.

Hi,It's been a long time guys, but figured I'd resurrect this topic with info on the update me and Sam just released. It is my hope this will allow for a better gameplay experience for those who are interested in getting a couple quick kills and logging off for the day.If you had been reading the other topic, you would've heard about the killingground, the highlight of this release. I've pasted the MOTD below, which should hopefully give a concise enough description.new as of 2/7/17. Adds killingground as a replacement to the newbie flag. Upon login, you'll be placed in a much smaller map that disallows bases, as well as caps health at 5000 and shields at 50. The point of this is to provide separation between players with high and low stats. To go to the battlefield at any time, type /battlefield and you'll be teleported. to check players on each map, /battlefieldplayers and /killinggroundplayers. If on a team, type /teammap battlefield or /teammap killingground to automatically spawn on that map. note: As of right now, this feature should be treated experimentally. If you find issues, don't hesitate to contact an administrator or developer. Makes hand grenades have timers to prevent some spam. Player data should now save on server crash. Added an item, the shield_extracter, to transfer 10 shielded shots from you to a extracted_shield. Added two new guns, the CRT42 and STP106. Added some new combos, 6456=ass_kick, 727=choke, 7589=double leg face stomp, 113=shove, 122=left hook, 322=right hook.If you have any questions, suggestions, all that, let us know

@Lordlundin, only one problem... You said something about admins being there to help out new players and keep the cheeters away from everyone else, but the only problem with that is well, sam's admins aren't very helpful, and all they do to cheaters is either ban somebody right away without warning or with no second chance what so ever, or swear at that person and say horrible things to them that some could even consider to be spamming. I think for this system to work sam needs a host of better more mature and responsible admins. I am in no way signing myself for such a job, not for that game at least, no way in hell.

Let's develop a game without cheaters - or rather a game where the cheaters aren't a problem.I personally think we've been looking at cheating preventions in the wrong light. For me, it's never been about banning the offending user, but rather to put them in their own safe environment removed from the rest of us.For this, I'm going to take a game like Redspot as an example. Not actually Redspot, but a game in a similar fassion.Step 1: detecting the cheaters and others who would seak to disrupt gameplay.This can only be done by carefully observing players in the beginning and look at server statistics. We can write speedhack detections, and I saw a game once used double values to varify. Basically, as soon as you modified one value it would compare it to it's counterpart and if they didn't match it would know it was modified by an outside source and would adjust itself back to match the original using the second counterpart. For example var hp1=20 var hp2=20 and if at any cycle of the loop the first or second variable were changed it would just correct to match the other counterpart. So if hp1 was changed to 15, hp2 would still be 20 and in the next cycle of the game loop the  game would see this and set hp1==hp2.We can also write sanity checks of every proportion; anti-spam code for the chat, etc, etc.Step 2: flagging the cheaterThis is the same issue where a lot of games that use the simple banning system also has the same problem. I have a more advanced idea in mind but let's save it for later.You can retrieve computer ID, location, you can have the game place hidden information in the registry, hidden under some obscure name like telecom driver rutines to fool people who seak to modify the registry values.Once you can varify from the client itself that the user is in fact cheating, the fun begins.Step 3: we don't want to punish the innocent now do weIf someone is clearly cheating, enough alarms will come up for the server ... let's saySpeedhack detected 5 seconds after login, then 10 minutes later, then the game detects chat spam 30 minutes into the gameplay.This user is most likely not looking to disrupt the fun for others and is most likely a victim of false positives. Reset and move on to monitoring.Now, consider the second example.User logs in, speedhack detected continuously for the first 2 minutes of gameplay. Sanity check shows the user moved 300 tiles in 2 seconds. User is standing inside a wall.Repeated spam over chat channel, disconnecting and connecting repeatedly.Both cases are clearly malicious.User is flagged secretly as cheater.Here is where we can divert and either choose some extreme methods of trolling right away or punish the user lightly based on what the user did.Step 4: taking actionConsider a couple of the following examples.User has been flagged for spamming and logging on and off.Throw the user onto a dummy chat channel with stupid AI.Spam the user with private communications from AI. Tell the rest of the server that they can spam the user.Disable all possible ways of retaliation by disabling all forms of communications, already done so by moving the user to a different channel but also disable his or her private means of communication.If the user logs off the user will be rejected to join the server for a set amount of time.User has received exessive speedhack detections.Meh for this one, as it takes up server resources. Just put the user on a map with others with the same flag, while slowing down the clock to compensate client side.For example if the client normally allows one to fire a certain weapon with a 150 ms interval, then after the speedhack the same check applies but it's with a 500 ms interval instead.User changes values like shields, hp and other things.Enter a mode where the users values are randomly switched around over time, usually in a negative way.Randomly teleport the user around the map.The idea is to give back what the inconvenient player is trying to give others. Instead of out right banning him or her the aim is to humiliate the cheater and associate his or her actions with something negative and unpleasant.Step 5: moderator rolesDo I even have to tell you to get trustworthy admins? Admin duty isn't a luxury, it's a responsibility. No one should ever want to be an admin, and if anyone feels that the game needs admins it's quite sad.After picking well-recognized, trusted faces to represent most parts of the publics, and to cover any possible time, time to implement your admin staff.The admin staff will never have the power to ban someone directly.They can however lift the various cheater flags due to a restricted command flagged users will get access to to send in appeals to the administration and explain their situation, and if the two parties can reach an understanding and the situation be explained, the admin can return the user to normal.For most situations this shouldn't be a problem

hrtf is the same as 3d sound system. I don't think that it's because of the bases, though I am not shure. Also, you shouldn't have deleted lav.dll. About that runtime error, it was most likely taking to mutch space or something, probably menny items or bases on the map at the time.edit: Before that store bug doesn't get fixed, good by to this game. Seriously.

Fatal issues in RedSpot. Yesterday I had 2 very wierd incidants with RedSpot. First I found a strange shipment with more than 29 million Small Projectiles, which must be due to some strange cheating of a kind. But worse is it that there is a programming flaw in Redspot, so you now can get killed, when you're AFK. These two things really need to be fixed for this game to be treated as a serious game, And not just a silly joke for smaller kids..

I have to agree with connar on this one. Sandbags are quite good for protecting the base, and latters even more help that, only one problem is that they can be easily destroyed, and they musst be bought from the store. And, yeah, If someone buys a milion shield boosters they will get an undefeatable base witch only someone who has the access to the server to destroy it.

connor, metal is useless now sandbags are more uselessi think base shields are, if they will be added, my idea is this for example a shield, if a player break's it,  they can get past the shield for 60 mins, and after 60 mins, the shield regenerates and they have to break it again and shield boosters are something to decrease the 60 mins for example, i have a base with a  base shield, and it have 60 minutes  to regenerate   i use a booster and 60 mins is 57 minsi think base shields   should be around    5 dollars to buy

what point would a base shield surve? Firstly, sandbags can already be used quite well to protect a base from damage, and secondly if you want a base to last, buy metal and upgrade its hp.

People backbreak you and you can die even if you have 3 health. Today i was about to die if that stupid didn't miss shots lol or probably he was a bit slow. I think most of us are getting huge lag spikes for item pings or just things in general. My pings also seem to be a bit higher as well. I'm putting up as first day release bugs and am sure that it'll get fixed quick. But major lag at the moment.

Hi, another question. When playing with NVDA the speech gets interupted, for example if i am tracking someone with o and then i press up arrow to move forward the track report is stopped. Same for if i have the chat enabled, if i am holding the arrow keys then i don't get messages. any ideaas how to fix this.

@Sito, thanks for the help, but for some reason when i go into defender to turn it off, i go to the realtime protection checkbox and press space to uncheck it, but straight away it checks itself again, thus i cannot turn it off.

yo, what you can do is disable defender. extracting the redspot zip file, then add the exlusion so that redspot.exe is the excludedn file. then it'll work good. the reason that it worked for abit before it stopped working is because defender enables it self after a while

for some reason, the game won't open for me, it says windows cannot access the specified file bla bla bla. I tried turning off my anti virus and It worked for a bit, but then it stopped again. I tried making an exclusion to the folder in windows defender but still it won't open the exe file, the laptop even deletes the exe file itself. it's so annoying, any help would be appreciated.

If I remember right, for me, the latest version of Defender jumped at it and I had to create an exclusion for the folder I keep games in. You'll need to find out how to add Redspot to your antivirus software's exclusion list so it knows RS isn't a virus.

er... Connor? I'm not really sure where that logic comes from, but it's quite a slippery slope if you ask me. Having a couple starter items to get away from op players so you can grab a couple things before fighting would not further endorse people to complain about starting hp and shields being too low. Firstly they've already and still to this day do it, and second I don't see how giving them items which would give them a bit more of a chance at survival would cause them to beg for more. And if some people did beg for more starter stats if this change were implemented, would it really be the end of the world? Or, could Sam just ignore them and decide not to do it?

Hello, people.I am agree with Nuno. Yes, your life or death are more depended on character parameters, not on real skills. Opponents would say, that everyone has an ability to make high hp and shields using store or bases, but there is a counter argument: high players (let's call them "highs") can very easy kill you at start without any dangerous for themselves. So, the game converted into a competition of farmers, who are building up resources (HP and shields) and collect newby's frags. I think such game model is unfair and boring for people, who just want to play, not to raise there self-esteem by humiliating others. Here are my suggestions: - Set HP limit to 2. You will not be able to use any healing items (such as antibiotics) when you have 2 health points. - Set shield limit to 300. You will not be able to use a shield when you have 300 shielded shots. - Add raiting system (probably on website). In fact, it is a simple scor
 eboard containing information about killing records. Now this achievements would be fair and honorable, because they have been set in approximately equal conditions.All digital values is not accurate and may be changed during an in-depth analyse at the discretion of the developer.I'd like to know opinions of other Redspot players.Thanks.

Everything from the store to the fact that suicide bombs can't be used to kill people over and over again without consequence.There is a problem though, and I'm not sure if you know this or not, but items are hella slow to both beep, and be picked up.

There is still a possibility that they have banned someone by mistake And They ujst forgot. As for that longest bannlist, that thing is always with most popular games or forums. How ever, even if admins are in mature, That doesn't meen that they bann for no reason. I would call that bannomania or something like that  But nothing of this is the reason to post on the forum, only real thing that everyone can do is ask dev for a greater reason and politly ask them to unban them. Let me answer your question, with an other question. Howmany people complained of beeing banned because they cheated or spammed or broke the rules? That happens on every game, even video games. "Oh i was banned from that and that without doing anything. I agree that there are some platforms where admins just randomly ban people, but come on. when you get banned the right thing to do is talk to the deve or admins about it, not cry on the forum about it. And just to remind you, that mahdy guy got banned from the forums for posting ban related complains over and over. So heads up.

Most of you already know this but I'll put it here anyway. Redspot now contains stores. they have the look and feel of bases, except for having to enter a code, and the only thing once you walk in is a computer located at 5, 5. Use this like you would a base computer with the difference of specifying the destination for the shipment, then go and wait. the store isn't always in the same place, though. You can destroy it just like a base, and each time this happens it will respawn at a new location. Use /storehint to get a little hint about its location. Oh, and you can also add wood or metal to the store to make it stronger.

Nice work on the update. If I can make one suggestion though. Can we destroy spy cameras?  Also, it's a little worrisome to set up satelite bombs, but then for some one to just get lucky and wipe out all of your work by just guessing codes which is what I was doing last night.  Still no way of destroying barricade bombs, so the same still applies I think for killing bases. Just die a lot and wipe out everything before going in for the base.
