Re: Snapshot

try this: go to the folder options dialog. Then go to the view tab and look for the tree view and check those options. Next, go to the nvda menu, right arrow on preferences, go to object presentation and check the report tooltips box. If its not under object presentation, look for it under document formatting. Hope this helps.

Re: Snapshot

What you want to do is to have the system display size information in folder tips. Im not sure how to do it in Windows 8, but in Windows 7 its a checkbox in the folder options under the view tab, in the advanced settings tree, accessible by typing folder into the start menu. You may also want to check the show pop up descriptions for folder and desktop items checkbox, which is farther down the list than the first one but in the same area.

Re: Snapshot

Hi defender. Thanks for the tip!It didnt work for me. However, If I go to view by pressing alt-V then pressing enter and tabbing down to view, and tab once more, then press enter. I get a menu with three choices. If I go to choose columns and press enter, a huge list of things I can have the folders display shows up.The only problem is this; NVDA doesnt read the info. I can read the date of the folder fine, but if I right arrow to size, it just says size columns and thats it. Ive tried waiting and no luck.

Hi.Ive thought of an idea for an addon for NVDA.Im no good at programming and have given it my best but just dont have the patience for it.If anyone thinks this is a good idea and can develop addons, feel free to use it. Would I like to get credit for the idea? Yes but I really dont have the mind for programming so...Anyway my idea is this; The addon would be a global addon, I think theyre called, meaning it would be accessed at any time.I was browsing through folders and thought to myself, hey, it would be great if we could have an addon that, for example, would say, brads music folder, 3. So what it would do is tell you how many files or folders are within that folder, maybe you could toggle this with a keystroke. The reason I think this is such a good idea is because I know I dont like opening a folder thinking theres something in it, only to find it empty. What do people think? Im ru
nning windows eight point one, so if theres already a feature in windows that does this, which I dont think there is, Id like to know about it.
