I don't remember how I got it in the first place, and I don't know if I will need the Reaper SWF extension. Previously I was informed that Rae Access would work, but then it was changed to Osara. Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard
Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard I can get 10ms with wasapi and its imperceptible to me, other people can say they perceive 4 to 10ms difference, but I cannot achieve even 4, so 10 is good with me. ASIO is ancient now and built into hardware as drivers, but asio for all will take exclusive control of the sound device, so you need another sound card for your screen reader. Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard
Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard 38 is right. Like I said, the reaper user manual also states that you should use ASIO if available and ('d assume) WASAPI otherwise. I have never achieved 25ms or below with anything else but WASAPI. Hell, with WASAPI I've achieved 18ms! Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard
Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard how am I misunderstanding, you claim that waveout is better, I claim it is not. I see far less latency with wasapi, and if I were to achieve the same amount of latency with waveout, I would have to push the buffer size so low that I would get crackling. Wasapi is what you work with most of the time. The only way I would recommend using waveout is if you're working with an editor and you need to know when things clip and you don't have an accessible VU meter, because wasapi will chop off the top of your audio to make it stay at 1.0. Also, how is debating a topic starting or perpetuating drama. Because WaveOut is shit, and considering that no program I know uses wave out (in fact, reaper is the only one that I know of that supports it)... yeah... that speaks for itself. Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard
Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard well default should work but try your mic plus your speakers. Something's probably wrong with the ttrack, providing you have a mic and said mic is either a laptop internal, or is plugged in and working, hit control T then F7 then F8, If you can hear yourself, then audio is configured correctly, hit control F4 to scrap that project, then say no to saving it, go to the insert menu, then insert virtual instrument on new track, pick your instrument and go. And recommended settings? Recommended by whom exactly. Yes, nothing is stopping you from using wave, and if it works for you, well enough, but most things are using wasapi now, which is what I would recommend, unless you're using an interface that has its own driver, like ASIO. Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard YOu need to set up your input to accept input from the virtual midi keyboard though in order for it to work, so on the track you are wanting to record on, or have the virtual instrument, press F7 to arm the track, and then F8 to make sure that Record Monitoring is on. Then press your applications key, and arrow up until you hear input submenu and can find virtual midi keyboard from the sub menu list. Select that, and from it's sub menu, select all inputs. Re: is there any way i can play music with reaper without a midi keyboard Hi SkyGuardian. You need some vst instruments, but if you want to test how it's working, there are some instruments alredy in reaper. Hear is how i make it: Go to insert menu, press enter on virtual instrument on new track, then select your instrument. Then press alt+b and play something using your keyboard. If it is working correctly, you can make your music, using midi editor, especially piano role. Go to insert menu, select new midi item. Then go to item menu, then select open in built in midi editor. In editor you can press alt+arrow up and alt+arrow down to select note, i to insert it, alt+shift+arrows left and right to navigate between beats and bars, and spacebar to stop or play. You need to configer your editor, press tab and shift tab to see available options.Sorri for my bad english, and, i'm newbie in reaper, but my method is working fine.
