Re: transitioning from android to iPhone. Does it worth it?

Found a solution for transfering your whatsapp messages and be able to interact with them, it is called wutsapper and it is in the playstore. You will need 29 USD and an OTG cable, probably another USB to lightning too since your J6 plus has micro usb so you can't just use the cable that comes with your new phone, since that is gonna be type c to lightning. So, get a cheap otg micro usb cable, an Apple usb a to lightning cable and install this app, it works from experience, I used the demo to see if it works and it did, thought of buying it too, but I didn't like Whatsapp on ios so I restorred my backup on android and I feel like home again. The link for the app is:https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … =USI could dig up some links for cables too if you need, just tell me what store you preffer. And in response to your earlier post, Voice dream reader is 10 bucks and it can't read with the Siri voices, but you can do it through setting a Siri voice as your default on voice over and reading with the Books app, it works beautifuly.

With the inaccessible text editors, you can usually get as far as ctrl+a ctrl+c to copy out, ctrl+a ctrl+v to copy in.  Lots of stuff can be driven that way. Also Monaco is usable by screen readers and is, in fact, what's in VSCode: https://github.com/microsoft/monaco-edi … lity-Guide

You can't. The $15, and $30 options are pay as you go, i.e. for 5 or 20 downloads respectively. The all you can eat subscription is annual only. The only way oyu'd be able to split the payment is if you used something like Paypal Credit which would have the 6 months special financing promo to pay it back.

Also, with soundsnap, a advantage is that you can pay as you go if needed, it has other plans besides $200 a year if needed.

Other formats can be added to Bookworm. I imagine it is on the todo list, but it seems to not be under very active development right now. I might do it if qRead gives me a reason not to use it. Being a developer and knowing of an open-source alternative like Bookworm, I would not make the purchase of qRead today since I could just add things to Bookworm if I need them. I made the purchase years ago though, so I still use it for some stuff. YMMV

Re: Is QRead worth the money?

Quite honestly, that depends on everybody's individual needs.I personally bought qRead on 2017, and at leas tto me it is worth the money. Its been with qRead that I've read most of my theological texts, the left behind series among others, and to me its just amazing. Problem however is that it doesnt' gets updated quite often, and you don't hear from the guy a lot although I understand that it was mister Tyler Spivey the initial author of the software. You can also have bookworm for free, however what I don't like from it is that it just sort of reads epub and PDF, if you have other formats to read you just gotta keep converting them. I personally don't like this, but well

Re: transitioning from android to iPhone. Does it worth it?

Hi all.I've already backed everything up yeah, but there's a thing with whatsapp. Will I be able to recover my old chats as I've been doing so with androids? Because people told me that backup copies of whatsapp are stored in google drive if you're android, and in iCloud if you're apple. Will I be able to do that? I have a lot of important chats I do not want to lose, also so many hilarious messages I've been storing for quite some time.

Re: Is paying for LeetCode worth it?

I would agree that paying for this service isn't really worth it. I have to be honest, most people who swear by LeetCode are those who had a lot of success practicing day in and day out, just to get into a big tech company. I went through my FAANG phase, and yes, LeetCode helped me. But all it really helps with is practicing for interviews! The actual coding on the job does not incorporate skills from doing so many obscure algorithm and data structure problems. So, unless you want to shell out 35 dollars a month to eventually try your hand at interviewing at companies like Google, I wouldn't recommend it. Besides, LeetCode already has a lot of nice free content that can still do the job in preparing you for that. Oh, and if you're a competitive programmer, I would probably recommend it, but even for that there are better resources. That being said, LeetCode does have the largest database of DSA questions, but again, many of them are obscure, or only really of interest to those who compete in these programming contests.

Revisit Top Speed 3 and my Thoughts for what they are worth

2021-02-06 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : audioracer via Audiogames-reflector

Revisit Top Speed 3 and my Thoughts for what they are worth

Hey Folks. So I realize this game is kind of abandoned if you will. But I have been recently playing this game again. So my thoughts as far as customization and expansion and what not.I don't mean for this sound like I am complaining, but maybe I am. So please forgive me if it comes off that way.As far as track creation, I would have liked to see a bit more sounds available and that you can add in and choose how you want them to play. But it is a free game and so I can let this slide. As far as language and/or sound packs, I new you could add different languages, but I did not know that you could add different sound packs. That's kind of cool for what it is worth.I remember back in Top Speed2, people wanted to see if people could play custom tracks online and it's good to see that Top Speed3 allows you to do that.In terms of Vehicles online, I understand why custom vehicles cannot be used online because of unfair advantages of cheating. And I fully agree with that decision. Now as far as the sounds of the vehicles online, you can hear other people use there breaks, but you don't hear the throttles when they are accelorating. I know some vehicles don't have throttle sounds but some of them do. The Blackbird Race Car comes to mind.As far as number of players whether online or offline being 16, I think they did try that and it was two much. So that is why they left it to eight. But I guess since you can choose the number of computer players, part of me wonders why they could not have left that available up to 16.Speaking of computer players...So I noticed the computer players don't use breaks. I do wish they would but just put it on hard difficulty and you should be fine. Especially with seven computer players. Personally I would do fifteen computer players if I could. And just like with the online players, I don't hear the computer players throttle sounds if any of them uses vehicles with throttle sounds attached. And this all leads to my last thing. I said earlier that I understand why you could not play with custom cars online because of cheating. But I noticed something since top speed 2 and I have been hammering on it when I made my first custom car and when I downloaded lots of other custom cars. And it seems like this issue was never addressed in Top Speed3. Maybe it was and I don't know anything about it. But My biggest thing is: Why is it that the computer players never select custom cars? Or at least have a folder for AIVehicles and people can make custom AI Cars for the computer players. Just my two sense for what it is worth. Hope you guys have a grate day. What are your all's thoughts on these? Am I on to something or not. And again I do realize that this game has been abandoned.

Re: Is paying for LeetCode worth it?

So here's the thing.  Practice coding sites are good for the newest of new programmers.  Once you're writing programs that are over say 1000 lines, or really even just a couple hundred, none of the practice sites are going to give you anything much.  Even things like Advent of Code stop being really beneficial in any way unless you're just looking for brainteasers.  Fun?  Maybe, if you're the right sort of person.  But going to teach you to actually build larger software projects?  Not really.  This is especially true if it's the sort of site where they check your answer, since being able to check your answer really just means practicing algorithms, and algorithms are only like 20% of programming at most. There are lots of universities and such that put their lectures up on Youtube, free software engineering textbooks, and so on.  I don't know what's recent.  But the coding practice problems site crowd is either people just getting started, a weird sort of competitive zealot personality type that's hard to describe, or people who think they're way better than they actually are.  Yes, there's a minority of people who just do it for fun, and I don't disdain them for doing it.  But be incredibly skeptical of this trend that those sorts of things teach much worth knowing.

Re: transitioning from android to iPhone. Does it worth it?

John, I would strongly recommend that while its easy enough to transfer over that you make sure you back your contacts up as you have always done in google contacts. If you ever want to go back, well in short, I'd continue backing up data for whats app and the like to google and as much as you think you can continue to do.The reason, transfering back from iphone to android is a big fucking shitty bastard from deep hell.My dad, who has been an iphone user for a number of years did a transfer to samsung getting the s10e a couple years back.Contacts went over well enough as did emails, after all these were doublebacked up to google and icloud let it go.Messages were another issue, if a contact was on imessage, then it needed to be deleted and recreated. Some transfered contacts didn't transfer propperly and needed to be deleted and recreated.A lot of important data was lost because simply you just couldn't transfer it.Books for apple for example couldn't be transfered but music and some videos could because android reads those apple files.I was also able to convert the music in apple format and then delete the apple files from the device via itunes. But even with several malware ridden programs on the computer we couldn't transfer everything even though we have a friend that is an experienced hacker. In my view I'd stay with android, however if you are going ios, be aware that the next phone you may get will have to be an iphone because thats the only way to get your data transfered over safely. From a symbian user, its android all the way, and even if I then go iphone I will make sure that at least my contacts I create are then recreated on google so at least if I switch back I won't have a problem.

Or is it better another with 128 or 256 gb of storage. I ask so because I'm quite a fan of downloading some stuff from Spotify, downloading apps to test, and also I do record lots of videos for some classes at my university. Thanks a lot for the feedback, it'll certainly make my transition less spooky.

It depends on which phone have you bought. If it is an iPhone with a home button, then tripple press it to activate Voiceover. If it isn't a phone with a home button, than tripple press the side/power button. The transition is absolutely worth it from my perspective. I bought an iPhone 12 Pro and I was using it to scan a page with the document feature of Seeing AI. I was truly surprised to find that the page had been perfectly scanned and I found no mistakes in the converted text. I was also staying at home one day and taking pictures of my family on my own. I showed then the pictures to my sister-in-law and she said most of the pictures were perfectly focused. I was really surprised at how well could I work with the camera of my phone.

PC venders can also install their crapware through that process, so it's best to make your own USB with the media creation utility, or go out and get an iso and use rufus to create it.

That was not misgendering, stop playing that card for no reason. I wrote that without even realizing at first, and that was never the intention. If I knew you, you could say that, but I have absolutely no reason to do that. Now, for the real topic at hand, maybe I didn't do research, but I did use the option we are talking about. You have a choice of how much exactly you want to delete, and if you choose to delete everything, you are doing exactly the same thing you'd be doing when reinstalling Windows, the only downside being that you can't repartition your harddrive for obvious reasons.

Did I not just say that it deletes *personal* data? Since when did drivers ever fall under that umbrella? Say what you will about drivers for custom hardware or what have you, but OEM drivers will almost always count here. And, I dunno, maybe you have personal files in your windows / system32 folders? I personally don't though.Like, seriously, shut the fuck up and do some research. You have no idea how little patience I have right now. Also how little I appreciate being misgendered.

@18, it *doesn't* reinstall. At best it takes system files from the ISO and replaces them as necessary, it won't touch drivers, nor will it do anything with the rom. Bloatware, among other issues, will still very much exist. This is plain misleading.

Re: Is it worth it to do a clean install of windows with a new laptop?

I recommend using a USB drive with the Windows installer. The reset options use existing files on your computer and may not give you the best clean install experience if something is seriously broken. Download the Media Creation Tool and use it to create a bootable USB device. Boot from that and follow the prompts, erasing your entire boot drive along the way.You shouldn't need to enter a product key if your computer is new enough. Starting with Windows 8, the license information is built into the BIOS, so the installer should detect it automatically and proceed. If not, select the correct edition of Windows that your computer was running. Once you connect to the Internet, it should automatically activate. You can check this by going to Settings>Update>Activation. If it's still not activated, get a sighted person to read the product key printed on your computer. Enter this and it should activate Windows and associate the license with your hardware. If you perform clean installs in the future, you won't have to enter the product key because it will automatically activate when you connect to the Internet. Finally, it's worth noting that you can activate Windows with Windows 7 or 8.x product keys. Just senter the product key and it should activate. It's very useful for upgrading old computers that came with Windows 7 to a properly activated Windows 10 system.

Yeah, do it via USB stick. Narrator starts with ctrl+win+enter, if I recall.  Drivers will almost certainly be fine.  It's almost always worth it and takes an hour at most, most of which you'll just leave it in the corner while you get lunch.

Re: Is it worth it to do a clean install of windows with a new laptop?

Well that depends on the manufactorer of your machine and how much bloat ware they put in their initial windows images.Generally I'd say it's a good idea to do so to have a clean slate without any programs or things you might not need.Just prepare a bootstick, start the windows setup from within the system or set the stik as the primary boot device in the uefi, activate Narrator when the setup has started and then follow the promts with setting up everything, formating the hdd and what not.You gotta have a registration key though which, if I might say so, can be picked up quite cheap at reseller sites if you don't have one already.Greetings Moritz.
