Re: Steam question about installing games Hi.I have just installed Steam on this computer, without changing any settings, because I'm not sure on how to access the settings. When doing OCR on the install window when installing a game, I can read the text regarding to put the shortcut in the start menu, and also on the desktop. But, according to the sighted person who tried to help me, nothing happened when pressing tab, shift tab or by using the arrow keys in this window.None of the review cursors in NVDA works in this window.Yeah, I could open up the games folder and make a shortcut from their. But, this is only a web shortcut which opens up Steam and clicks play, which launches the game like if I pressed play on the games page in Steam.So, I'll not say that Steam is fully accessible yet because of the inaccessible install window. It is usable, but not fully accessible.I wander how I have messed up my steam so badly so it won't create those shortcuts, even after a fresh install on a new computer. I think I'm just good at messing things up. Lol. Steam question about installing games Hi.I've just installed Steam on a newly installed Windows computer. When I install games, there is not being created a desktop icon, and not any folder or icons in the start menu either. The only thing I find is a shortcut from the Steam folder when searching for the game in the start menu.The installer window is only readable by using OCR. I have set up Steam as described in the Steam guide, and everything else is accessible.I got some sighted help to read the installer Window. I tried to use Tab and the arrow keys in the installer Windows, but I couldn't check the checkbox for shortcut in the start menu and not either to the Desktop icon by using the keyboard.So, a question to all you who are saying that Steam is fully accessible: How do I fix this issue without sighted help by using the keyboard?I have tried to reinstall the game many times with the same result.I would appreciate this being explained in the Steam guide as well for others who might have this issue. Re: Steam Question. Right click your steam shortcut and go to properties, and in the "target" field, right at the end after the quotes put a dash then type the command no-dwrite. Also, it might be a good idea depending on if it's just your pc or if it's a fmilies, but if it's you who uses it the most, you can put a login command in there as well. Steam Question. Hi,I've never had this problem before, but I want to see if anyone else has run into it.As I'm sure you know, to use Steam you need to use the Jaws curser a lot. I just put steam back on my PC after my system crash, and when I rout Jaws to PC curser, it only reads graphics, and it won't read me any options. Before, it would read me the options like Store, Library, and everything I needed to know. Now, it just says graphic this and graphic that. SO, every time I want to use Steam, I need to have someone sighted help me. Has this happened to anyone before, and if so do you know how to fix it?Thanks.
