If people are creating accounts with a VPN, it's perfectly reasonable to investigate and see if there are any other odd things that can be found. No it's not against the rules to use a VPN, but people work around bans here and that needs to be looked into. I'm sure there are other things that we just don't know about, and that takes time to pull off. Then we have the fact that modding a forum isn't a 24/7 on call job, it's a voluntary position and real life comes first. Given that, it's again not unreasonable that the process could take a few days. So unless you have some evidence that's a little more compelling, do us all a favor and quit with the childish nitpicking. I just guess that the issue is the ever-present lack of webmasters. Also some people use vpns for all web browsing to evade tracking. I guess if you don't want to allow them that's your choice because I can see how it might look suspicious in some cases, but I've never seen a website do that before. Can you moderate/administrate over a hundred to a thousand posts a day, plus user registrations and restrictions, plus all the other stuff the admins/mods need to deal with? In the case of a user with another harry potter themed name we wanted to take some cution on that.Also in regards to people coming in with VPN's. There's no rule tha tsays that youcan't, but put this in perspective for a moment. We've had a few users trying to get around their bans. So naturally this makes us look at things more carefully than normal. When we see a user that has a throw-away email address plus an IP which comes from a VPN with a high threat score, we take notice. The users who have been unrestricted immediately have made it really clear why they were here, have used email addresses that aren't throw aways, and have not been hiding behind anonomous connections.Finally, I am not the only moderator here, so just because I don't unrestrict a user, does not mean another admin can't do it. what happened to the restricted toppic Hi. Just of booredom, i looked into the restricted users topic. And i noticed some things that are not right in my opinion.1. Some unrestrictions go extremely fast and some take ages even if the admins are online in this time.2. Sometimes users just seam to get forgoten. An example for this is post 3343. very recently, admin liam didn't unrestrict something cause they where using vpn. And, seriously, that's their good right to do. Hell, i am using vpn sometimes my self.4. When urh tried to reregister, he was banned, which is correct. But it seams that the admins forgot to tell this in the restricted toppic so it looks kinda wierd.5. Also it seams like onlny a few normal users can post into the topic. I for an example saw some posts by user sofs, but i can not post in there.Just some stuff i noticed, hopefully it can get clarified.
