Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Transporter blowing internal fuse.
The people repairing my Transporter have replaced the defective transformers and quote Everything works spot on apart from it won't play anything! It connects to the server and displays the track selected but wont actually play. It just sits there with 0:00 on the time. I am going to fit a cpu pcb from a SB3 into it (it looks the identical) and see if that is the issue. It is almost like the unit is not receiving a clock signal. end quote. Xilinx reset does not make a difference, Anyone else had this? I think a touch may now be the best way out I guess I could still use the TP as a pre amp. They are waiting to get their hands on a SB3. -- valeite valeite's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10755 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81822 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

Finally got this working for EQ on 7.6+Touch... Is there any way to patch the custom-convert.conf so that 96 can be resampled via SOX and still played via InguzDSP? - seems like there ought to be... Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Popping noises with Transporter firmware 81 and 85
Turning off scrolling and all screensavers does minimize the noises. Unfortunately, it does not eliminate them entirely. I don't know the firmware code, but I am a programmer by trade. The code may still be computing the values necessary to scroll, even when scrolling on the display is turned off. I also found no effect when turning off the VU meter on the secondary display. Again, the values needed may be getting computed, but not displayed in any way. -- Celeritas Transporter - Classe' CP-47.5 - Classe' CA-201 - Martin Logan SL3 Celeritas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18887 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84133 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] RC (Inguz etc.)
For those who are comfortable with linux and writing command-line instructions, brutefir / brutefirDRC works with 7.5.x server and 7.5/7.6 SBTouch. What is lacking compared to brutefirDRC on older SB is the ability to select filters via the remote. I have brutefir room correction running on SBTouch, streaming flac or pcm at various sample rates and on a 2-yr old 2-core server (3GHz), brutefir only consumes 2% per channel for 44.1kHz audio, 4% per channel on 96kHz audio. I understand fir correction on Windows is heavier on the CPU. I have not heard a system with Inguz, but the measurement and correction are similar, so when working to spec, I expect brutefir and Inguz to give similar results. Some posts compared DEQ2496 v Inguz. I can say from my experience that Behringer digital EQ is way inferior to brutefir for room correction. It veils the sound, and dialing in eq is just guesswork. I have some bad room modes due to hard flooring, walls and ceiling, and digital room correction was always needed. Going just the passive room treatment route would have made part of my listening area (main hall in the home) look a mess. -- mervin_b mervin_b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77084 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
