Interesting that you felt your sub's crossover had to be -raised-. Initially, I also did that but further listening suggested that more accurate timbres would result from -lowering- the crossover. This also seems to produce a more convincing soundstage, but the overall sound does end up with a more astringent character. With some recordings, this is fine. Not so much with others. So I may still experiment with different volume and crossover settings. But the main point is that soundcheck's mods seem to yield still better results if one fine tunes one's system further. Guido F. Following up to the above post, I had another interesting experience with Ethernet cables. I described the sound resulting from adjusting my sub's crossover after applying TT3.0 (including hardwiring the Touch to a WiFi bridge) as having an astringent character, by which I meant the sound decays seemed unnaturally dampened, as if recorded in an excessively absorbent room. Well, rummaging in my closet I found a nondescript Cat5 Ethernet cable left over from some now defunct peripheral or other. I swapped the connection between Touch and bridge (also a Cat5 cable) with this newly found cable. The astringent quality of the sound is now *completely gone*, and a much more natural presentation of sound decays has resulted. Very satisfying! But also quite perplexing . . . Please share your opinion about best sounding version of Windows 7 (Pro, Home, Ultimate, ) as well as about 32 or 64 bits. Thank you! I doubt that there is a difference between packages. You choose 64 bit on a 64bit capable platform. More improtant is that you apply e.g. TCPoptimizer. Make sure that your MBO ethernet driver and all the other drivers are up2date. I just heard that the W8 beta seems to perform quite good in comparision to W7. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Logitech Transporter for sale
Sorry, I must have misunderstood :-) Thought question was Why did you switch from Transporter to SB Touch? I did not stated before above question, that Transporter was used only as digital source in my system. Anyway, let's put this aside and enjoy our music :-) -- gizek SB Touch DIY FDA-1 DAC Pass Labs X1 preamp Pass Labs XA30.5 amp Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor M gizek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34337 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88844 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
