Re: [Aus-soaring] Colibri II re-calibration

2014-03-27 Thread Ian Mc Phee
Well you can always learn. 5 years instead of 2 is very sensible.

I only do Cambridge and Clear Nav (was Winter once upon a time) mainly
because with other brands people forget to send me instructions or leads
and I waste too much time trying to work it out. Besides I have no
interest. I have not charged juniors going to world's. over the years. I
can do 2 (or maybe 3) units at a time as my chamber is very small. I can
say the old (15 yes plus) Cambridge model 10s & 20s do have a largish
variations but the Cambridge 302 and Clear Nav MFD (vario awaits IGC
approval right now) are extremely accurate and vary very little from year
to year.

Thus the 5 years is very sensible.

Ian mcphee

PS NEVER EVER use a EW lead with a CAMBRIDGE and not too sure about the
other way around but may not be very healthy!!

Re: [Aus-soaring] Colibri II re-calibration

2014-03-26 Thread Tim Shirley

Hi Geoff,

The Colibri II Approval document was issued on 25 Feb 2012. No Colibri
II calibration can predate this so your point (1) applies to all of them.

As a result the only situation where Ben's C II would need calibration
is if he has lost his certificate.

The new rule applies only to electronic barographs, including those

a nutshell:-

(1) any calibration done on or after 1 October 2011 (eg: "current"

(2) a calibration done before 1 October 2011 means the 5-year interval

Annex A (the World Comps Rules) says only that a current calibration

If your Colibri II is older than 5 years it must be a fairly early

Also, any accredited instrument repair workshop (one that calibrates ASI

The manual gives calibration instructions for use by the place that does it.

II...turnpoints load correctly.
BUT ...
I cannot load the task from that same .cup file into the Colibri II...same
msg..."No Tasks Found"

..did you find a solution?

Maybe its a bug...I'll email LX and see what they say.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Colibri II

I have a Colibri II FAI approved logger. Can anybody tell me how you declare
a task in it? I can get turnpoints into it but not tasks

The instructions say to copy a .cup file from SeeYou onto the SD card - but
it always says "no tasks found". I am finding this a most frustrating piece
of equipment to use.

Help!!

Thanks in anticipation!

2013-12-10 Thread Plchampness
Dear Jennie,

Turn on your unit. When it starts click the multi switch to the right.
Next after the vario page is GPS bad, No navigation for TP.
One more move to the right. You get GPS BAD, No navigation for TSK. Click in
the centre.
Task edit page. Move up and down entering or deleting Start, turn points and
finish.
Click on each turn point and go down to zone, set A1 to 180 for a circle and
R1 for the radius. A12 is Auto. I forget what the other things do but you can
define a start line and a sector.
C
Click zone and go to view. You get a picture of what you have programmed as
the zone.

Yours
Peter Champness

Re: [Aus-soaring] Colibri II

2013-12-09 Thread Tim Shirley
By moving two pages to the right of the main (vario) screen in the C II
(Task Navigation), and pressing the button, you are able to directly
enter a task into the instrument.

By moving to the Setup page and selecting Logger, you can enter pilot
and glider details.

The task in a CUP file placed on the SD card will only be recognised if
it is named.

2013-12-09 Thread Chris Runeckles
Hi Jenny

One of the traps I fell into was when you save a .cup file to the SD card
is to make sure you "Save As", as a straight "Save" converts the.cup to a
text file which the collibri will not recognise. check the file on the SD
card is really a .cup file.
