One of our customers has used Crystal Reports before.
We stopped that, because we could build the reports in Axapta as well.

Why do you think of Crystal Reports for Axapta?

Hi Nitesh,

sorry if it seemed I knew how to work or develop on CR. I can't.

Does anyone know if there is such a report available in the standard

RE: [Possible Spam] AW: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Crystal Report

2005-02-08 Thread JI Markusse

Hi Herbert,

I have used CR on Axapta to extract data
and I had no problems. I do not know if there is a special connector for
Axapta (like for BaaN and SAP) but I just connected using ODBC into SQL Server.
I found that the links between tables had to be set-up correctly because Crystal messes this up
but apart from that I had no problems. If you have to report on enums you
will have to write a script in CR to interpret the values, but that is very
easy.

Cheers

Sam,

I would read the Axapta 3.0 finance user

I would also read the training manuals
from the training classes once. This is what I did and I passed.

I got it to work very
interesting. I had to put negative inventory on the BOM item itself how
do the cost work? Using average costing, on the transactions the sold was at

Hi Yifat,

Referring to your last error message was that
there are no stocks. If you use picking

have stock then you can pick the finished

allow negative inventory

 Hi,

As far as i know, this
auto-report-as-finished will not work for
 picking
 list requirement or

been exploded for zero
 stock (otherwise you
 specify negative inventory). Cause the
explosion will be done on

The BOM component should not be picking list

Hi Yifat,

I have tried it, It will
automatically create a BOM journal
  based on
default BOM journal and
calculate the cost when you
invoice the sales order. You use
  this when
there is no
production order for that BOM
item.

When you post the invoice, it
will create item receive
  transaction for
BOM item and item
issue for BOM components.

See the posted journal at

1 - The only way I know, and it's way not clean, is to align control with the
property LineLeft or LineRight to Solid. Maybe it will look ugly on the
preview but once printed it should be ok.

2 - To put something in a rectangle use LineLeft, LineRight, LineBelow and
LineAbove properties of the control or section.

3 - Same has 2 with a control. But don't ask me how to put a check in it! ;-)

Hi,

What kind of statements can I execute with this method
other than the select statements? The developer's

Can I also execute delete, update, insert
statements? Is there a documentation about it?

Thanks,

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Crystal Report

2005-02-08 Thread Harry Deshpande

Hi

Any report writer outside Axapta is a
massive pain.

One of my clients wanted to make a report
that will show the weighted average cost of an item (the one that appears on
invent-on-hand) against each invoice line. I ended up writing a four page
documentation to describe the Axapta process (four pages just to get the cost.
Things like currency conversion, unit conversion, virtual companies etc got a
one line mention).

Now the client will have to make sure that
the process still holds true after every service pack/ new version.

Data in Axapta is logic specific. If one
is not aware of the logic inside the application then using the data to
generate the reports is nothing short of disaster (on top of that there is lack
of any documentation in Axapta). In my opinion, external report writers should
only be used only for modules like CRM which is basically just data storage,
there is not any extensive data manipulation involved in CRM.

Our company is using Crystal reports for much of our reporting from
Axapta.

We did not find many of the standard Axapta reports very useful or
flexible.

In either case, you will need to understand the data structure to
develop new reports. But we felt Crystal was better suited to users
writing their own reports.

Dear Luis,

I suppose you already learned how to use data import/export.

Create a new data defintion group. Have a look at the checkboxes
under the tab included table groups.

Uncheck the checkbox Transaction if you do not want transactions
like CustTrans, ...

Uncheck the checkbox Main if you do not want base information.

You can find the definitions of all the options in the developer's
guide.
