[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Dimensions in PO

2006-04-19 Thread Akshay
 Hi,
I wanted to know , whether there is some setting in Axapta with the help of
which i can hide or unhide the Item dimensions showing up in the Purchase
Order Report. The reason why i ask, is that we get 2 different kinds of
report outputs in 2 different machines with the same settings for AP and for
Inventory. In one of them i get the dimension columns irrespective of the
fact that whether dimensions are assigned or not, while in the other one the
dimension columns just dont appear.
Could someone throw some light on this.
Thanks
 Akshay

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Document Handling - Create Excel worksheet via COM

2006-04-19 Thread Koh Meng Chiat
Dear all,

I've set up the a document type which make use of the job Create Excel
worksheet via COM which is able to transfer data from SalesTable and Salesline
to the Excel template.

My query is, now my Salesline has multiple lines and when i use the document
handling function the system is only able to transfer the last line of the
Salesline table ( ONE line only) to the Excel template, not all the Saleslines.

Can anyone shed some lights on it? Could someone also explain to me the hard
return in the Document Type setup means? What is that index used for?

  Thank you.

  Best Regards,

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Closing Actions - InventDIM overgrown

2006-04-19 Thread Shahzad Butt
Hi, one of our client hasn't closed their Inventory ever since they've
gone live (2003) and their inventDIM and inventSUM have grown in size
terribly. A hundred million rows in each, which is causing serious
delays for any operation. I wonder if inventory closing has anything to
do with reducing the tables mentioned in size. If not then what other
ways can be used to archive these tables?

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Closing Actions - InventDIM overgrown

2006-04-19 Thread James Flavell
Are they using serial numbering or configurations?
What dimensions is 'Financial invnetory' set for?

Closing will have no impact on these tables record size but for sure closing
should be done for several reasons including accurate costing and yes
potentially to improve performance (although not by reducing the number of
records in the mentioned tables). My guess would be that without closing
then the InventSum table is never closed which means onhand calcs etc will
look to include all the invetsum records. If you are using serial number
then most likely a lot of the invetsum records should be closed (there is a
field closed on the table and I believe it also has an index on this field)
and so very quickly excluded in any search of records etc

Will be interested to know your findings
Thanks
James

Why was demand placed for this item when the production order was cut?

Why wouldn't Master planning be updated at the time of the production order

hi

So basically what you are saying is

a production order was created which in turn created a planned order for an
item on BOM line.

However, when you ran full master scheduling the planned order disappeared.
Is that what you are saying?

We have an bom item that is on a purchase order for a Production order for a
top level assembly.

The production order was cut for the top level assembly which then Created
demand in the Planned order form for this bom item.

We run Master planning on this item then the demand goes away..

Why was demand placed for this item when the production order was cut?

Why wouldn't Master planning be updated at the time of the production order
creation?

Thanks in advance..

Myrl

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Net requirements

2006-04-19 Thread clegan06

Hi all,

I am trying to find the form / table that the pegging on Net
requirements pulls it's information.

I go here Items choose an item on hand net requirements. I can
see SO that are pegged to Production orders. I am trying to write a
report with 3rd party tool; to return open sales orders and show
production order pegged to SO.

The form ReqTransOverview doesn't show the pegging on the design
portion of the form, but shows it on the form when I open in Axapta.

Thanks in Advance!
Chris

  Hi all,

I am trying to find the form / table that the pegging on Net
  requirements pulls it's information.

I go here Items choose an item on hand net requirements. I
 can
see SO that are pegged to Production orders. I am trying to
write
 a
report with 3rd party tool; to return open sales orders and show
  production order pegged to SO.

The form ReqTransOverview doesn't show the pegging on the design

 Axapta.

  Thanks in Advance!

I would agree, that is the only table that has most of the
information. In that table, I don't see where it pegs SO to Wo and
vice-versa. I will continue to look, if anyone else has any
information; would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Summary Update of Orders

2006-04-19 Thread nevittsf

Thanks James

[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Yes I have used this and it works no problem.

A few things to bear in mind:
 1) Only one sales order is printed on the invoice header (the
others are
printed as part of the line headers per SO)
 2) May need to add field sales number to various places such as
picking
registration lines etc as often the customer wants to know for a
particular
line what sales order it comes from.

 Thanks
 James

Has anyone used the Summary update feature in Axapta for AR
invocing or
Packing slips? Do you think it could be called a
rudimentary consoldated invoice solution? Did you find it suited
your needs? I'm curiouse because I've heard that nothing exists
for
consolidation - but this feature seems to provide some good
 functionality.

I have something for you to try which may simplify the puzzle. Print

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Free Text Invoice

2006-04-19 Thread Steve Wright

If the first line in the free text invoice is a negative, it is assumed to be a credit note. Move this down the list if possible and it should be ok.
Steve.

Hi Steve:

I tried to do this, but the example never gave me the opportunity to post a free text invoice in the way you explained it.

I remember, I did this excercise before with a good result, but I do not know why at this moment the functinonality it does not work as you say.

I think that is a parameter. What is your opinion about this?

 Best Regards.

Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Document Handling - Create Excel worksheet via COM

2006-04-19 Thread Koh Meng Chiat

Dear Somnath,

Actually i'm now making use of the Document Handling function under Basic module Setup Document Management Document Type whereby i can define the attachment type. After i've define the document type and i open the Sales Order and click on document handling button and select the document type i've defined earlier, the sales header is able to transferred to the Excel, however, only one salesline can be transferred even though there are multiple saleslines in my order.

 Any feedback is much appreciated.

My query is, now my Salesline has multiple lines and when i use the document handling function the system is only able to transfer the last line of the Salesline table ( ONE line only) to the Excel template, not all the Saleslines.

Can anyone shed some lights on it? Could someone also explain to me the hard return in the Document Type setup means? What is that index used for?
