RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Multiple Users while running Invent Recalculation/Invent Closure/Master Planning

2006-12-15 Thread Bonk, David
Depending on your inventory valuation method that you are using it is
more important to run this for some methods (fifo, lifo, weighted avg)
than others (standard) as this is where the system recalculates your
actual costs for each transaction during the month. When you use FIFO
for example the system will originally post transactions at an average
cost and then when you run the revaluation function it sorts through the
FIFO 'buckets' and creates adjustment entries for the transactions.

Regarding the closure aspect it is like closing financial periods in
that it prevents transactions in a closed period.

Hope this helps.

David

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Using Axapta Screens Pocket PC and Integration with MES Systems

2006-12-15 Thread Steeve Gilbert
It's pretty simple actually, you should try it and see how far you
can get. First, install a TS client on your pocketPC device. Then
access a TS session and start Axapta. Afterwards you can create new
forms that are suited for smaller screen. Start those screen in
SysStartupCmd class after you detected (customization) that it's a
pocketpc session.

Let me know if you need more explaination on those steps. Have more
precise questions and that'll be easier for me. :)

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Problem with the explosion feature at the sales line!!!!

2006-12-15 Thread Ricardo Cortés
Hi all,

I've been having troubles with the explosion at the sales line, it is showing
that i have inventory on hand when there isn't.

The scenario to reproduce teh problem is:

Create a sales order for an item without inventory on hand
Run the explosion from the sales line
The explosion form will show you a planned purchased order, this is correct.
Firm the planned purchased order, receive the item and invoice the sales order.

Create a new sales order for the same item (the item don't have inventory)
Run the explosion from the sales line again
The explosion form will show that the item has inventory onhand when the
reality there isn't.

If you check the net requirement thru the sales order you can see that axapta
is showing two lines in on hand one with a positive quantity and other with
neative. So, like axapta is seeing lines with on hand for this item is not
calculating the requirement and is not plannig the purchase order.

I know that Axapta in the explosion only take into account a few transaction
for the item, but in this case it seems that is not settling the previous
transaction and that is why the result from the explosion is wrong.

Only running the Master planning for all the items in the regeneration mode fix
the problem.

Does any one have an idea of what is happening or if this is a bug?

Thanks in advance

  Ricardo Cortes

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] ReturnLotId

Therefore I was wondering can I make use of the returnlotid on the

brings back in all the smaller items and these have the returnlotid pointing
to the original?

Is this easily done?

Will this work for non sales order inventtrans?

Appreciate any input

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] RE: ReturnLotId

2006-12-15 Thread James Flavell
Sorry everyone I didn't quite finish my problem, let me try again sorry

Hi everyone, I am embarking on a project that requires the splitting of an
item into smaller sizes.

I could do a stock movement but of course the cost should follow the split
so this approach is not good enough. So I have considered BOM but it is not
a very good fit (user not want to create and maintain BOM items especially
as every split can be different so there is no fixed rule)

Therefore I was wondering can I make use of the returnlotid on the
inventtrans?

My idea is to have a movement journal that writes out the main item and then
brings back in all the smaller items and these have the returnlotid pointing
to the original? The problem is the smaller items make use of the size and
color dimensions (i.e. they are different to the original) and so std Ax
does not allow me to pick the original lotid. Can I just override the
selection? I mean is the return lot id just used to look up the cost of the
issue trans so that the cost of the original can be assigned to the new
incoming or is there some linkage or something where it is important to keep
within the same size and color?

Any other way to do such? Is there things I can do to have normal 'Item'
type items but able to perform the report as finished for them? In terms of
costing technical how are the consumed items in a report as finished journal
costed into the final product?

Appreciate any input

Thanks

James
