[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Format text for sending email

2009-04-20 Thread anton_tjiptadi
Dear all,

I developed some notification program in Ax 3. This program should send email
regarding some changes in Axapta. Problem is I set the message body so it would
look nice when my user receive it. Turns out all the format missing so it would
only display one long lines without any format.

Example of my lines is
Purchase order no 1234 is created \n. Please approve or reject \n\n Regards \n
Admin

I'm using dialog to display this message before Axapta send it. It already
looks nice on screen.
Message body in my dialog already looks like this :

Purchase order no 1234 is created
Please approve or reject.

Regards
Admin

After I clicked ok on my dialog, it send the email but with all character in
one line.
-- Purchase order no 1234 is created. Please approve or rejectRegardsAdmin

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Anton

Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Purchase Requisition

2009-04-20 Thread MaryAnn Hand
You have the process reversed. You first create a request for quotes. When
the vendors all respond with bids, you choose the one you want to purchase
from. Then you create a purchase requisition for that vendor. When the
approval process is completed, the purchase requisition becomes a purchase
order.

Thanks for the info Dan!

So you either use AX CRM or MS CRM but not both, right? Can you synchronize
data between Ax and MS CRM? If so, how and is it working smoothly?

We have implemented both AX CRM and MS CRM linked to AX. There is one key

prettier, and works better with Outlook/Exchange. However, AX CRM is totally
 integrated, which has its advantages.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] AIF error in AX 2009 -- File adapter unable to read file

2009-04-20 Thread Amar Senapati

Hi All,

I am trying to use the AIF file adapter to integarte with other system. I am
using AX 2009 in Windows 2008 Server and SQL Server 2008 standard edition..

I have done all the AIF basic set ups ( end points , channels etc..). I am
testing for a inbound process. I used the CreateSalesOrder XML file ( samples
provided by MS ). I changed the message id, domian etc to the XML file as per
my AX 2009 settings.

When i run the batch process , I am getting below error saying the adapter is
unable to read the file. The error is The file system adapter is unable to
read the file D:\AIF\InBound\CreateSalesOrder.xml. Error: Access to the path
'D:\AIF\InBound\CreateSalesOrder.xml' is denied.

I checked all the folder sharing , security setups. The folder sharing and
security full access is given for the AD user id used for AX 2009 login. The
user id is administrator in AX2009 system. I have also checked the owner of the
file and its the same AD user id.

Please suggest or point me , if i missed any other settings.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Number Sequence changes at the end of the year.

2009-04-20 Thread manish saxena
Hi Abhay,
Yes, i agree that its tedious to set number sequence manually every yeat.
For this, when we fetch the number Sequence for the current year, first we
check in our customised table(NumberSeqRefYear), that is there numbersequence
for the current year, if it wont find, then we create a new numberSequence for
the current year , taking previous year numberSequence as an template.
We are attaching year ref(like 2009) at the end of NumberSequenceCode, to
distinguish between the numbersequence for each year.

Yes, to do that, you have to put some code, you can ask your technical person
for that.
Hope, it helps...

Thanks for the reply. But I wanted to know whether the numbersequence works
automatically changes accodring to the dates that are selected by the user or
we have to change manually the same every time the data is entered by the end
user.

I thuink you would agree that it would be difficult for the end user to change
the number sequence every time he entere data of the past or the current year.

Hi Abhay,
We have customized the number sequence for each year for our Italian client.
There we add a reference of numberSequence for each year in NumberSequence

Dear All,

Has any one worked on number sequence changes at the end of the year.  As you
all are aware the number sequence has to be changed at the end of the year.
Also there will be some entries which have to be passed before and during Audit
hence the end user has to use both the number sequences.

Is there any procedure where we can use the date wise number sequences, where
both the number sequences run according to the dates entered by the user.

Regards
Abhay

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] AX3.0 MRP strange result

2009-04-20 Thread James Flavell
Hi everyone

We have a strange result with AX3.0 Sp5 MRP using Period coverage.

When it is run 3 planned purchase orders are created but the first planned
PO qty covers requirements way beyond 90 days, which should be in the later
planned POs!!!. The second and third planned purchase orders only cover
requirements within 90 day period (but do not contina the error requirements
that somehow got put in the first planned PO)

The strange thing is if after running the master planning if we go to the
item / net req / update / master scheduling this updates the planned
purchase orders to be correct (i.e. each planned PO only covers the
requirements for 90 days)

Has anyone come across anything similiar before...I vaguely remember Harry
mentioning there are a number of bugs in master planning long ago but dont
remember any specifics

The settings for this item are:
Leadtime 60 days
Coverage: Period
Coverage Period 90 days
Neg days: 720
Postitive days: 720
Timefence: 720 days

Thanks
James
