[jira] Updated: (AXIS2-871) Service created with WSDL2Code from a wsdl2 description fails to deploy in axis2.

2006-07-12 Thread Graham Turrell (JIRA)

Graham Turrell updated AXIS2-871:
-

Attachment: HotelReservationService.wsdl
reservationService.wsdl

HotelReservationService.wsdl is the source wsdl2 doc for artifact generation by
WSDL2Code. reservationService.wsdl is the equivalent wsdl created by the
tooling for inclusion into the .aar file (under meta-inf)

Service created with WSDL2Code from a wsdl2 description fails to deploy in
 axis2.
 -

  Key: AXIS2-871
  URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-871
  Project: Apache Axis 2.0 (Axis2)
 Type: Bug

   Components: core, Tools
  Environment: Axis2 1.0 nightly build dated Jul 6, 2006. axis2.war under
 tomcat 5.5.17
 Reporter: Graham Turrell
  Attachments: HotelReservationService.wsdl, reservationService.wsdl

Using WSDL2Code to generate WSDL 2 artifacts from HotelReservation.wsdl
followed by (default target) ant on the generated build.xml. The resulting
.aar file for the service includes a (derived/formatted) version of the wsdl
in the meta-inf directory. When attempting to deploy this service into
axis2/tomcat, it appears in the service list as a faulty service. However
when the wsdl is removed from the .aar, the service deploys successfully.
Tomcat Catalina log for the failed attempt shows the following:

nightly axis2.war problems on tomcat 5.5?

2006-07-04 Thread Graham Turrell

Hi List,

I've been having problems using recent nightly builds of axis2.war under
tomcat 5.5.
The .war will install but trying to access the axis2 admin functions from
the tomcat manager returns a 404.
The last known good axis2.war that I have is from 16th June.

Is this a known problem? If not I will open a JIRA.

Re: Axis2/Woden Integration Scenario Explanation

2006-06-28 Thread Graham Turrell
Hi Eran,

Have you resolved any issues in letting me see the populated skeleton
stubs (below)?
I'm particularly interested in the stub. I've successfully deployed an
axis2 service I created
using your wsdl2.0 (-wv) option based on ReservationService. However the
axis2 documentation
(I have at least) seems not-so-helpful (or perhaps not up to date) when it
comes to coding up the client from the stub
(specifically the constructors on the generated stub class). Therefore if
you have some working
client source it would be really helpful to me to see how you've done it. I
really need it soon too :)

TIA.

Kind Regards,

Graham.

Hi,

This will explain how the woden integration is happening with Axis2, as
requested during the last woden telecon.

I got the HotelReservationService.wsdl [1] from the woden repo and
generated java artifacts from it. Axis2 wsdl2java can generate both
skeletons (this is the skeleton of the service implementation which is
described by the wsdl) and stubs (this is used to invoke the service).
This step required to read the wsdl 2.0 documents through Woden, then
pump the information populated in Woden in to Axis2 data binding frameowrk.

Then I filled the methods in the skeleton to make it a dummy service and
deployed as web service in Axis2 engine.
Next, I used the above generated stub to invoke the service that was
deployed.
I could successfully complete the scenario getting a response for the
invocation. This is an *initial* sign which indicates that Axis2/Woden
integration is successful.

Things to do :
- I need to check other WSDLs
- need to improve Axis2 internals a bit more to make sure new MEP uris
and other new namespaces are integrated properly.
- improve ?wsdl20, if there are problems

How to try :
One can run Axis2 wsdl2java tool by running
org.apache.axis2.wsdl.WSDL2Code with the following command line options.

-uri
$AXIS2_HOME/modules/adb-codegen/test-resources/wsdl20/HotelReservationService.wsdl

-ss -sd -g -o the places generated stuff should go -p
org.apache.wodenintegration -wv 2

You will get stubs and skeletons for the given wsdl.

If required I can host this service in a public endpoint for you all to
invoke and see.

Thanks,

[axis2] woden/axis2 interop

2006-06-06 Thread Graham Turrell
Hi folks,

Just wondering where we are in terms of development on the axis2 / woden
integration for the interop event, and what is there left to do?
I know that one or two contributors are already actively working on this.

I think that a good minimal demonstration for the interop event would be to
send a client request to an in-out axis2 service with a wsdl2.0
description,
ensure that the SOAP message is correctly interpreted and the appropriate
response message generated and dispatched.
(Deserialization is a TBD but from earlier discussion on the list doesnt
seem to be specifically needed for the interop demonstration)

To that end, I am keen to help on any aspect of the interop work (primarily
from the Woden side), such as architecture, code or test
creation/execution:
Where are the gaps (if any) and how can I help?

Kind Regards,

Graham.

I'm specifically interested in the org.apache.axis2.wsdl.builder.wsdl4j

Well as the code shows its gone. Here is a hint as to y.
This is what we use to do in terms of the WSDL information flow.

For WSDLGeneration modules
WSDL4J - WOM -CodeGenConfiguration
For Engine
WSDL4J - WOM -Axisservice, AxisOperation..

Now we have removed the WOM abstraction and we use the AxisService ,
AxisOperation as our WSDL level abstraction.
For WSDLGeneration modules
WSDL4J-AxisService -CodeGenConfiguration

FOr Engine
WSDL4J-AxisService, AxisOperation..

So it is gone for good. Further this new abstraction is helping us
immensely to port WSDL 2.0 support for Axis2.
Anyway if u are still looking for the bulders you could find some
isomorphism in org.apache.axis2.description.WSDL11ToAxisServiceBuilder

I hope this isnt an RTFM (I've scanned the axis2 1.0 relase docs), but as

I'm wondering what happened to the org.apache.axis2.wsdl.builder.*
packages
 between 0.95 and 1.0
of axis2? They seem to have gone from the 1.0 release.
I'm specifically interested in the org.apache.axis2.wsdl.builder.wsdl4j
 package.

 Thanks in advance.

Introduction...

2006-05-18 Thread Graham Turrell
Hi,

Just to introduce myself, I'm Graham Turrell and I work on the web services
development team at IBM Hursley Labs in the UK, alongside John Kaputin and
Jeremy Hughes. I am just starting to get involved in Woden development,
initially contributing to the woden interop effort into axis2 and the
upcoming interop event. I'm currently on a steep learning curve in the
axis2/woden/ space (!) but very much looking forward to being of help...

Kind Regards,

Graham.
