It's no big deal. But FTDNA isn't going to be able to tell you that I was
the one the made the connection with person A and then applied it to person
B. Customer service doesn't understand the endogamy either, but if you want
to go a couple of rounds with them, go right ahead. Cheri

Bill,

The CCA seems to be down.

This topic came up on the Madeira list. I was using illegitimate and natural
interchangeably too. The fellow on the Madeira list said a baby "natural" means
that the parents were not married. Not married to each other and not married to
anyone else. A baby that was "illegitimate" means that one (or both) of the
parents were married - to someone else.

It would be interesting to pay closer attention to the natural and illegitimate
to see if the priests follow what the Madeiran fellow said or if they use it
interchangeably or what!

I think I found her baptismal record, but cannot read much Only Maria in the
margin and Cabral in the text.

Can someone tell me what the headings are on top of the passport listing, and
where I can get the baptismal record translated to see if it actually is her.

Are any of these records or any records from that time frame indexed to make my
search easier?

You can post here or send direct as not to take time from others.

Thank You.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Question

2018-04-17 Thread Cheri Mello
Liz, since this a personal question on one of your kits, and no one except
you and FTDNA staff and admins can see it, you should either email one of
the admins (with the kit number and name) or contact FTDNA. I will be home
after 7 pm PDT and can help you then.

Note 1: If I figure out a match that connects to you or one of your kits,
then I go into your kit and connect it from your end too.

Note 2: The current FTDNA trees can't handle endogamy.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Question

2018-04-17 Thread Elizabeth Migliori
Hi
I just went into a Family Finder profile that I'm responsible for and
noticed that the little blue man (paternal) was now highlighted. No red
for maternal just Blue for paternal.
Nor Purple for both

Now this person and I are 1 st cousin once removed.
So for her we are related on her father's side.
For me we are related on my mother's side so *shouldn't it show the red
maternal lady next to me.*

Her father and my mother's father were brothers.
