Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Half Moon Bay, CA
Hi Romona, I don't know much about Cardoza's. My great grandmother was Caroline Cardoza Machado and her father was Manuel Cardoza. My understanding is there is still Cardoza's in Half Moon Bay that maybe related to these Cardoza's. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Half Moon Bay, CA
I created that find a grave memorial and have since gotten pictures. I also got the church records from 1880 showing the Cardoza family, I have to say that there are a ton of resources out there, but the people on here and everyone else that has helped me makes this an enjoyable hobby to have! [AZORES-Genealogy] Half Moon Bay, CA
Hey everyone, I was hoping that someone here would know where I can find old newspapers/obits from Half Moon Bay, CA from 1881. I think I stumbled upon my 2x Great Grandmother's record and need to confirm it. My 2x great grandfather was Manuel Cardoza 1838-1923 (I am hoping I have the right dates) He was from the Azores and died in Santa Clara, but was from Half Moon Bay when he came to the states. I believe is wife was Catherine Cardoza 1832-1881, I don't know here maiden name. -Eddie -- For options, such as changing to List, Digest, Abridged, or No Mail (vacation) mode, log into your Google account and visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/Azores. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Half Moon Bay, CA
Eddie--I believe there are still members of the Cardoza family there. Their original name was Cardoso. Perhaps they are related. Not sure about newspapers. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Half Moon Bay, CA
Eddie: Our Lady of the Pillar Cemetery in Half Moon Bay shows a listing with Catherine Cardoza d. June 3, 1881 and Manuel Cardoza d. May 22, 1923. The address and phone number is included on the web page along with general info regarding the cemetery. Here is the link where I found the info -- http://www.interment.net/data/us/ca/sanmateo/pillar.index.htm Madeline On Sunday, March 2, 2014 7:50 AM, Eddie Machado avidedito...@gmail.com wrote: Hey everyone, I was hoping that someone here would know where I can find old newspapers/obits from Half Moon Bay, CA from 1881.
