Hi Romona,

I don't know much about Cardoza's. My great grandmother was Caroline
Cardoza Machado and her father was Manuel Cardoza. My understanding is
there is still Cardoza's in Half Moon Bay that maybe related to these
Cardoza's.

I created that find a grave memorial and have since gotten pictures. I also
got the church records from 1880 showing the Cardoza family, I have to say
that there are a ton of resources out there, but the people on here and
everyone else that has helped me makes this an enjoyable hobby to have!

Eddie.  I am not a hundred percent sure... but I did a look up in San Mateo
County for someone about a year or two ago at the library in the City of
San Mateo.  Half Moon Bay is located in San Mateo County, CA.  It is on the
Coast of the County.  San Mateo County is the County on the San Francisco
Peninsula immediately south of San Francisco City/County.  To give you an
idea.  Every city between the City of South San Francisco and East Palo
Alto is in San Mateo County.  If you can give me Catherine's DOD, I will
try to get over there in the next month or so.  I can't commit to it 100%

and died in Santa Clara, but was from Half Moon Bay when he came to the states. 
I believe is wife was Catherine Cardoza 1832-1881, I don't know here maiden 
name.

Manuel in Sao Mateus, Pico

Their original name was Cardoso.

Perhaps they are related.
