Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Searching Dias/Dyers family Grasciosa

2011-09-30 Thread netadosAcores
Liz,

Thanks for recommending this site on annunciation. I put in some
Portuguese family names and had to replay them several times to be able to hear
 how
they were pronounced. Patsy, we pronounce our name incorrectly, LOL.

Also, what I found interesting was that when writing Vieira or Anselmo
alone nothing was listed under the names. But when I wrote the names
together, Vieira Anselmo, Translate from: _Finnish_ (javascript:void(0)) ,
appeared under the names. The annunciation stayed the same.

Ava
Vieira Anselmo in Ribeira Seca, Sao Miguel Pinheiro, Nunes, Silveira in
Praia do Almoxarife and Pedro Miguel, Faial
Silveira, Rodrigues in Sao Jorge

I attached the google translator so if you hit the little speaker button
in the box that says Jaime you can actually hear the way it is sounds said
in Portuguese. The minho site also has people named Jaime (Pico, Faial,
Sao Jorge - only islands that are on). The Lisbon page also had a Jaime.

I believe the name Diogo translates asJames. But I've also seen Jaime,
which I think is the more contemporary version.
