Re: [backstage] BBC clock
Sorry to revisit this. Does anyone know the licence/source for the clock at www.bbc.co.uk ? RE: [backstage] BBC clock
Flash 101? I remember someone advertising on the list that they'd recreated all these oldskool BBC clocks in Flash, and I marvelled at the intricacy and accuracy of some of them (particularly the mockups of the old mechanical ones) - I was under the impression the people responsible for the redesign of the Beeb site asked him nicely if they could use the clock for the site? I might be slightly fuzzy around the edges on this one, but I don't think my subconscious make up something as overly complex as that :)

I like the bounce on the second hand with that clock you mentioned.
Re: [backstage] BBC clock
I followed his guidance at the top of the page where the nice clocks were found before posting :) Please note: I did not create any of these Flash clocks! I found them all on the Internet. I placed them here for information purposes only. There's little point in writing to me about them as I have said everything I know about them here and on the individual clock pages. Re: [backstage] BBC clock
Hi there I'm not sure this will be of any use to you. I have source code to a basic clock. Personally I like the the retro aspect, the code is in javascript. I used the code to develop an opensocial app on hi5.com and iGoogle. You can view the clock here, http://smbale.hi5.com/ and here is the xml file, http://www.mpelembe.net/time-clock.xml . The code is free to use as you wish. best regards Sam On Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM, Matt Barber [EMAIL PROTECTED]wrote: On Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 9:18 AM, D P Ingram [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I followed his guidance at the top of the page where the nice clocks were found before posting :) Please note: I did not create any of these Flash clocks! This is one of my favourite Flash clocks: http://yugop.com/ver3/stuff/03/fla.html If you're halfway decent with Flash, here's a tutorial to make your own analogue clock: http://www.entheosweb.com/Flash/analog_clock.asp However I have to say the two BBC clocks on there, especially the second one, brought a lump to my throat. Now if only someone could do the one that used to count down to schools programmes - that would have us riveted while waiting for Watch or Words and Pictures... Thanks. Some classic memory marks but sadly not exactly what I was looking for (see my reply just sent to Brian). But I enjoyed the site visit! Thanks. [backstage] BBC clock
Hi all. Not strictly a backstage question, but I am sure someone will know the answer. I recall seeing a rather nice flash (?) rendition of an (old) BBC clock without any BBC branding on a web site a year or so back. It was just a plain clock. Does this ring any bells as the searches I have found so far don't refer back to the original developer so I cannot learn as to the availability and licensing of same and naturally one cannot lift code!
