Hi Myles,

Could you give the context ?

I do t understand what’s the problem you are trying to solve, why do you
want to build an ISO ?

Re: [Bacula-users] libmysqlclient.so.21

2024-06-19 Thread Davide F. via Bacula-users
Ok, there was a misunderstanding from my side, my bad.

I thought you wanted to build the rom yourself.

Now I understand better.

In your specific context, if you get this error, it means the rpm package
has a bug (missing dependency or something else).

I’ll leave people from Bacula Systems answer here then.

Good luck

Re: [Bacula-users] libmysqlclient.so.21

2024-06-19 Thread Davide F. via Bacula-users
Hi,

Then try installing below packages (used on Centos 7, some packages name
may have changed for Rocky Linux).

openssh-clients rpm-sign mariadb-devel \gcc gcc-c++ make autoconf
glibc-devel \ ncurses-devel readline-devel libstdc++-devel \
zlib-devel openssl-devel libacl-devel bzip2-devel \
openldap-devel libxml2-devel rpmdevtools \
rpmlint postgresql-devel libcurl-devel

I remember the rpm package build process is documented somewhere in
Bacula documentation but I can't find it.

Best,

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula community repo SHA1 pubkey

2024-05-11 Thread Davide F. via Bacula-users
Hello Rob,

There’s already an issue open since a year Bacula bug tracker

https://gitlab.bacula.org/bacula-community-edition/bacula-community/-/issues/2681

Up to now, I haven’t seen any progress or plan to fix this issue, this is
why I’ve built my own binaries.

If nobody from Bacula side provide a “fix”, I will simply share the rpm I
have built on my own.

Let’s wait a couple days of days to see how f something happen.

I’ll keep you posted.

Best regards

Davide

Re: [Bacula-users] BAT Installation

2024-02-02 Thread Davide F. via Bacula-users
Hi,

Completely agree regarding Baculum and Bacularis, which are really great
projects giving “almost” full controls on Bacula.

Really sad to know BAT isn’t maintained anymore.

Regarding last Heitor’s comment, sorry but I somehow disagree, and the
reason is not because I’m maintaining Bacula-Web project since 2010.

Simple reason, leave community users the freedom to choose whatever tool
they want to use with Bacula. Text based, web based, etc. It doesn’t
matter, it’s each community user choice in the end.
Simple principle of GNU and open source.

Btw, I have a list of non official GUI tool for Bacula, and some are still
maintained. Including webacula fork which is available on GitHub ;)

Best,

Davide

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula GUI projects

2024-01-26 Thread Davide F. via Bacula-users
Hello Alexey,

Probably by baculum-web you meant bacula-web right ?

I know 3 main Bacuia GUI (web based) projects

   - Baculum
   - Bacularis
   - Bacula-Web (maintained by me)

2nd and 3rd projects does support recent versions of PHP (Bacula-Web for
sure)
I don't know if Baculum does support PHP 8.0 version or above.

Then it depends ...
If you're looking for a tool to manage and configure Bacula from a web UI,
go to Bacularis or wait for an answer from the maintainer of Baculum.

For the moment, Bacula-Web does only reporting and monitoring and does not
allow you to restart job, run restore, etc.
These features will come in a future release.

Hope it helps

Davide

I used to build binaries for Bacula.org project, and I’m almost sure you’re
missing some package dependencies.

I’ll keep you posted later about this.

Also, why using build_mysql if you just need the fd ?

Hope it helps

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula 13 for RHEL 9 ?

2023-01-27 Thread Davide F.
Hello Frederic,

I might have Centos 9 (Stream) bacula packages hidden somewhere, I need to
check this weekend.

I guess you’re looking for bacula 13.x packages right ?
Both MySQL and PostgreSQL if I understood well ?!?

Don’t downgrade your OS as it might take a bit of time.

I’ll keep you updated in this mailing list as soon as I find a moment to
check on my side.

Re: [Bacula-users] OneDrive and Google Drive?

2022-12-02 Thread Davide F.
Hello,

I'd simply suggest to keep the Goodle drive or One drive synched on your
local machine.

Then use bacula-fd to backup the synched local folders on your system.

I personaly do it like that, and it's a pretty simple and efficient way to
protect your personal data, even if they're "hosted" by a cloud provider.

Hope it helps.

Re: [Bacula-users] Upgrading from 11.0 to 13.0

2022-11-19 Thread Davide F.
Hello,

Actually, I have the same question.

Is there any documentation about supported versions ?

Also, why not building recent platform packages for 11.0.x ?

Best regards

2022-11-12 Thread Davide F.
Hello,

Thanks for your feedback

The best would be add your comment on the issue here
https://github.com/bacula-web/bacula-web/issues/129

I have made a test using Lighttpd and it worked for me, even hosting
several virtual servers on it.

For your information, I’m really close to publish a new release which
include an update of the documentation for Lighttpd.

The new release should be available by the next few days.

In the meantime, please share your web configuration so I could help you
more easily.

Best regards

Davide

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula-Web 8.6.1 release

2022-10-27 Thread Davide F.
Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.

Indeed, I may had to make it more clear on the v8.6.0 blog post
<https://www.bacula-web.org/blog/bacula-web-8.6.0/>, it's not obvious if
you don't check the release note
<https://github.com/bacula-web/bacula-web/releases/tag/v8.6.0> in detail.

I haven't tried yet but Lighttpd seem's to be well documented regarding
virtual host.
https://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/lighttpd/wiki/Docs_ModSimpleVhost

To keep it simple, you can have specific document root and other options
based on the "host" value in http request.
This means you can host as many "virtual" web servers on a single host
without the need to keep everything under /var/www/html.

As I already said, I'll have a try on my side and update Bacula-Web
documentation <https://docs.bacula-web.org> for next release.

Let me know if you managed to setup virtual host on your side please

   - Just curious, why are you not using built-in authentication but HTTP
   Basic authentication instead ?
   - Which OS are you running Debian, Ubuntu, etc ?

Any feedback about above questions ?

Best regards

Davide

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula-Web 8.6.1 release

2022-10-27 Thread Davide F.
Hello,

Thanks for your feedback

First of all, I have two questions

   - Just curious, why are you not using built-in authentication but HTTP
   Basic authentication instead ?
   - Which OS are you running Debian, Ubuntu, etc ?

Regarding the issue you're facing (403 permission denied).
As mentioned in latest documentation, please make sure
Lighttpd configuration is using Bacula-Web public sub-folder as a "root
folder"

Assuming you've installed Bacula-Web in /var/www/html/bacula-web, configure
it like below

server.document-root = "/var/www/html/bacula-web/public/"

I'll setup an environment based on Ubuntu or Debian to make some test with
Lighttpd server and will let you know how it goes.

By the way, the documentation mention how to update permissions for
application/views/cache
(see link below)
https://docs.bacula-web.org/en/latest/02_install/installarchive.html#change-files-folders-permissions

One of my objective for next release is to update the documentation which
needs some update and fixes.

I have created an issue to update the documentation with instructions for
Lighttpd https://github.com/bacula-web/bacula-web/issues/129
Feel free to add comments and suggestions on the GitHub issue

Best regards

Davide

Can you share your lighttpd config ?
