Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula errors using two catalogs

2017-05-15 Thread Davide Franco
Hello,

Unfortunately, Webacula hasn't been maintained since several years.

I would have a look at baculum or Bacula-web (reporting only)

Good luck

[Bacula-users] Webacula errors using two catalogs

2017-05-09 Thread Iban Cabrillo
Hi,
I do not know if this is the correct forum to ask, but I just migrate
from bacula 5x to 7x, and I was trying to manage it using webacula (v7.0.0,
build 2014.10.05).

The first handicap I just find is that i have two catalogs (in a firts
step I only want to use the first one) and some pages do not work properly
because of this (I have not found a way to pass the catalog selection from
web interface).

The other (maybe related to the first) is some error when i try to run or
re-run a job from web interface i always get this error job name "was not
found in the *haystack*" (Zend Framework 1.12.0)

Has Someone any idea how to solve this issues?

regards, I

Does it support includes in conf files? I mean mt bacula-dir.conf
includes dozens of conf files in a hierarchy.

There are tools that are better at some aspects or another. E.g.: Webmin does
Bacula changes on configuration files, but is not as user friendly, resourceful
as Webacula or BAT for backup administration and monitoring. Reportula proposes
to do both things, but I think last version is in beta testing.
Nowadays I think the most complete and stable GUI is the Enterprise Bweb.

Does this error mean those of use running FreeBSD are out of luck?

file(/proc/cpuinfo): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

Of course I am not sure I would have gotten any farther, and in my case
this information would be pointless as my web server is on a different
machine than the Bacula Director, it wouldn't have the bacula-dir.conf
file to access anyways. Would probably need to do some sort of NFS
share to make that part accessible.

The regular login worked though, except the statistics page, and looks
nice, big improvement to the looks of the old webacula interface.

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula 7. Coming…

2014-10-28 Thread Kern Sibbald

Hello,

It is not particularly easy to parse Bacula configuration files,
particularly the FileSet resource, and I am not sure it can be done with
regex. However, Bacula does read its own conf files, and there is a
program named DassModus (posted on Internet) that reads Bacula conf
files in Python partially using regexes ...

Concerning your conf file listed below. I am 99% sure it is not a
valid conf file and could not even be scanned by Bacula.

If you are worried about all the things that Bacula permits such as
spaces in names, simply define a simpler Bacula syntax where names
cannot have spaces. Another way is to choose your own format (such as
xml, which as you know, I do not like) and use it since it is easy to
parse with web tools, then convert it into Bacula syntax before giving
it to Bacula. Converting xml, json, or any other representation into
Bacula should be a lot easier than going the other way.

Best regards,
Kern

I tried to parse the bacula-dir.conf.
However, this is probably not possible with simple regexp's.
It turned out that some applications, for example, Webmin does this
with a regexp.

But they're doing it wrong!

For example, here is test configuration (which is written according to
Bacula Main Reference: Customizing the Configuration Files)
contains no errors in terms of Bacula (I checked it) but it would be
wrong parsed (I have not tested it, but I'm sure of it) by 3rd parties
parsers (not native) :

-
# comment1
  # comment2

c o n s o l e
{ Name=name1; Password = p; \\\a s s w o rd; J o b A C L = *all\*
}Con sole { N a m e = name 2; Pass word = password; JobACL =
job/\1, job2, job3
}

-

I.e. in other words to parse with regexp any Bacula configuration will
be very difficult.

I am not sure why any one would object to doing configuration

Where I am not very enthusiastic is to put the configuration

recovery, and if you destroyed your database, it could make it
impossible to
 even start Bacula.

Hi

I think the same with you about the posibility to store the
configuration in database (is a very, very, very bad idea) !!!
but, maybe the idea of this mail (If not, Yuriry can use this idea to
improve webacula) is to use a database to save all the hosts, files,
storages and others only to webacula interface... After the end, the
user will apply the changes and so, the GUI get all the information
from the database and generate a new bacula-dir.conf for example.

that is the same idea that the Centreon project use to make the nagios
configuration files, and IMHO, I believe that is a good idea.

[Bacula-users] Webacula cannot execute bconsole

2012-12-07 Thread ccspro
This way is one way to do it using /etc/sudoers file. Just make sure you read
up on sudo beforehand.

/etc/sudoers:
# group
%httpd ALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/bconsole
# user
httpdALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/bconsole

Regardless of which way you go, any outside bconsole access is always dangerous
and if the web interface is not proper sanitized it is dangerous no matter if
you use sudo, fixing up selinux, etc...

I've written php scripts to allow remote DB admins to initiate job scheduling
using wget to a web URL and all it does it tell bconsole to schedule a job and
who and what type. (To avoid setting up ACL's in bconsole for this purpose)

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula cannot execute bconsole

2012-11-26 Thread Ryan Jantz

I was finally able to
resolve this issue, so I wanted to post what worked for me.
Because of the numerous changes made to try to fix this, I don't know the minimum changes required to
fix it, but my
best guess is:

1.
verify permissions on Webacula webroot
and all contents are:
rwxr-xr-x.
apache apache
  2.
reset SELinux contexts on Webacula
webroot to defaults
3.
change SELinux contexts on Webacula
webroot and all contents to:

system_u:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t:s0

I don't know if number 2 is
required, but I completed 1 and
3 above prior to today, but
still got the error. After
completing both 2 and 3 today,
it worked.

Thanks for all the
help.

Hello again. So I've been reading and learning (a little) about SELinux today, but I haven't made much progress. Setting selinux to permissive resolves the error. Selinux context on my /var/www/webacula is:
drwxr-xr-x. apache apache system_u:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t:s0

Entries in /var/log/messages are:
bconsole: bsock.c:135 Unable to connect to Director daemon on localhost:9101. ERR=Permission denied

My interpretation of that error is bconsole is not able to connect to bacula-dir, but I can manually start bconsole. It seems the problem is when apache or webacula tries to start bconsole

Selinux context on /usr/sbin/bacula-dir:
lrwxrwxrwx. root root unconfined_u:object_r:bin_t:s0

Selinux context on /usr/sbin/bconsole
-rwxr-x---. root bacula system_u:object_r:bin_t:s0

I'm not sure what permissions need to be modified. Any ideas?

Thanks

SELinux is not a simple modify permissions type of fix. You will need to create the policies within SELinux in order to provide the "permissions" in the extended attributes that allows Webacula to interact with the director. This is not a trivial exercise, but would be quite valuable to the community if successful. This is why many shops don't consistently use SELinux in enforcing mode.

2012-11-21 Thread Simone Caronni
Can you do the following?
I'm assuming you are on Fedora or RHEL

1) Install the policycoreutils-python
2) Erase the audit log
3) Launch webacula
4) Check for denials

In detail

# yum -y install policycoreutils-python
# /var/log/audit/audit.log
[start webacula or whatever]
# audit2allow -a

Please paste the output here. Probably it can be fixed by a SELinux
boolean or a context change on the binary.

Yes.

I figured out SELinux is the problem. If I disable it, the errors stop. Now to
figure out how to configure SELinux so it plays nice with Apache.

Thanks

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula cannot execute bconsole

2012-11-20 Thread Ryan Jantz

Hello again. So I've been reading and learning (a little) about
SELinux today, but
I haven't made much progress. Setting selinux to permissive
resolves the error. Selinux context on my
/var/www/webacula is:
drwxr-xr-x.
apache apache
system_u:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t:s0

Entries in
/var/log/messages are:
bconsole:
bsock.c:135 Unable to
connect to Director daemon
on localhost:9101.
ERR=Permission denied

My
interpretation
of that error is
bconsole is not
able to connect
to bacula-dir, but I
  can manually
  start
  bconsole. It
  seems the
  problem is
  when apache or
  webacula tries
  to start
  bconsole

  Selinux
  context on
  /usr/sbin/bacula-dir:
  lrwxrwxrwx. root
  root
  unconfined_u:object_r:bin_t:s0

  Selinux
  context on
  /usr/sbin/bconsole
  -rwxr-x---. root
  bacula
  system_u:object_r:bin_t:s0

I'm not sure
what permissions need to be
modified. Any ideas?

Thanks

Is bacula listening on localhost ? It probably should not be since
that could prevent bacula from being a network backup program..

Yes, bconsole is looking
for the director using "localhost". All Bacula components and Webacula are running
on the same server. I replaced localhost with the servers
hostname, same results.

Bacula
itself seems to be working fine. Prior
to installing Webacula I confirmed I was
able to backup and restore
local volumes as well as data

[Bacula-users] WEBACULA with postgres

2012-01-26 Thread Ferdinando Pasqualetti
Hello Bacula Users,
I am using a 5.0.3 MySQL BACULA installation and I find very useful the
WEBACULA package.
Now I need to renew all the envirenment, with a more powerful hardware and
migration to a PostgreSQL database, so I am setting up e new envirnment.
All the bacula stuff seems to work properly, but I am not able to make
WEBACULA connect to the database.
Software revs are:
RHEL 6.2
Bacula 5.2.4
PostgreSQL 8.4.9
Webacula 5.5.1
PHP 5.3.3
ZendFramework 1.11.9
Apache 2.2.15

I was able to run the two dbscript of webacula installation, but I get
this error:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Exception' with message 'Fatal
error: Can't connect to SQL server' in
/usr/share/webacula/html/index.php:178

It looks like the Zend environment does not connect to the right port
(running postgres under debugger I cannot see anything), but I did not
find any place where to force port number in webacula/Zend/PDO_PGSQL
settings.

If someone has some idea, please tell me.

Best regards,

[Bacula-users] webacula issues

2011-07-08 Thread museikaze
Oh sorry, I normally just use nano to open up the sudoers file. Thanks for your
help, I managed to get it working by changing the bconsole.conf file to run as
the apache user instead of root and by removing /usr/bin/sudo from the
webacula config file.

On Thu, Jul 07, 2011 at 02:21:28PM -0700, museikaze wrote:
Thanks for the reply. I tried running it in visudo and got the same result
except it now sais Error Command: /usr/sbin/visudo /usr/sbin/bconsole -n -c

avail. Has anyone come across this issue before?

There is some missunderstanding here.
visudo is a tool to edit /etc/sudoers.
/etc/sudoers is the file declaring who may call sudo for which purposes.

A line in etc/sudoers like
%sudo ALL=(ALL) ALL
will allow everyone in unix group 'sudo' to become any user with sudo to
call any command after entering the own password.

user1 ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/bconsole -n -c /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf
allows the specific user1 to run /usr/sbin/bconsole -n -c
/etc/bacula/bconsole.conf
without entering a password.
If your box is a dedicated backup server it may be acceptable to just
allow the webserver access to /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf and get rid of
the sudo-stuff. On my box this is done by adding www-data (the user
running apache here) to the group 'bacula', the actual group that owns
and has read access to the files in /etc/bacula. However, it would be
sufficient to have access to /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf.

It sais theres an error with that command, but the command produces no error
output. So I tried running the command /usr/bin/sudo /usr/sbin/bconsole -n -c
/etc/bacula/bconsole.conf and sudo bconsole -n -c /etc/bacula/bconsole as
root and they both work. The only reason I can think of is perhaps I need a
file permission somewhere? Im using FC12.

Try if it works as user 'www-data' 'apache' or whatever your system uses
for running the webserver. sudo runs stuff as 'root' by default, if you
already are root your debugging capabilities are limited regarding to
correct sudo setups.

Regards,
Adrian

as root and they both work. The only reason I can think of is perhaps I need
a file permission somewhere? Im using FC12.

 Thanks

Ich hab es jetzt probiert, das in /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini direkt

[Bacula-users] webacula only giving back empty page

2011-03-03 Thread Thomas Schweikle
Hi!

I have installed WeBacula. All OK as far as I can see.
Zend-Framework seems accessible (at least phpinfo() tells about it
being used and loaded. But ...:

loading the main page only gives back an empty page: not even any
html. Nothing!

phpinfo() until I put just beyond these lines:

phpinfo(); // this is OK --- I'll get all infos!

// load all configuration sections and save to registry
$config = new Zend_Config_Ini('../application/config.ini');
$registry = Zend_Registry::getInstance();
$registry-set('config', $config);

phpinfo(); // not reached any more

Any idea how I could debug this?

All running on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS
Webacula installed to /opt/webacula

Apache config taken from webacula/install/apache/webacula.conf and
modified to match my site (btw: is there an Ubuntu package around?
Maybe with an Ubuntu repository somewhere?)

[Bacula-users] webacula apache problem

2011-02-08 Thread nnuser
Hi,

After much fiddling i managed to install webacula almost entirely.
I mostly user the guide provided for debian
(http://code.google.com/p/webacula/source/browse/trunk/webacula/install/INSTALL.debian?r=408)

However, when i try to access it, apache says:

File does not exist: /var/www/webacula/html/auth

This look like an alias/rewrite problem (i configured the site as expained in
the guide above)

The apache alias points: /webacula /var/www/webacula/html

Any sugestions?

[Bacula-users] Webacula - Zend can't connect SQL server

2011-01-25 Thread supporto.ced

Hi all,
first of all I apologize about my english.

Then, I've this problem with installation of webacula: calling the webacula
homepage i get this error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Exception' with message 'Fatal error:
Can't connect to SQL server' in /var/www/webacula/html/index.php:177
Stack trace:
#0 {main}
thrown in /var/www/webacula/html/index.php on line 177

Obviously it concerns a problem of authentication with db but the only
configuration about it in webacula's INSTALL file is the following:
Specify the parameters to connect to the Catalog and webacula databases in
/var/www/webacula/application/config.ini

I suppose I have specified the correct users both in [general] and
[webacula] sections (I've tested the given users by connecting from
command-line with mysql -u command, and it works).
Just to be clear: I'm right saing that user in the [general] section must be
the same as bacula-dir.conf and in [webacula] must be the user create by the
installation script webacula_mysql_create_database.sh?

Thank you all for your help!
Best regards, Stefano.

I've found my problem: pdo_mysql packet doesn't work properly, so I've had to
uninstall and re-install php5-mysql package.

Now everything works fine!

Thank you anyway for your courtesy!

[Bacula-users] Webacula problems with bconsole

2010-05-06 Thread jmalone68

Hello All,
I'm trying to set up Webacula to manage the bacula configuration that we are
testing.
So far we've been able to use bacula to back up a Windows client to a 4mm DDS
tape drive we had lying about.
This is on a freshly installed Ubuntu 9.10 Server and is a test system until we
get all the bugs ironed out.

The problem we've hit is the message ERROR: Cannot execute bconsole. File not
found. that shows up on the web browser. See attached image.

Since I'm new at this I don't know where to start looking and would appreciate
any pointers you may have.

Thanks in advance,
John

There is a webacula users list.

Your problem stems from the fact you have not properly
defined the location of bconsole in webacula's cnofig.ini.

Make sure access to bconsole for apache is configured right
as well.

The docs are slightly misleading iirc, as the visudo example
shows the path to bconsole differently than the config.ini
starts out as.

[Bacula-users] webacula can't restore

2009-03-31 Thread François Mehault
Hi All

I used webacula to do some restore, but I saw that it can't. I use bacula 2.4.4
and webacula 1.4. Well, I started a restore with webacula, I executed and i saw
the director :

Sortie du directeur:
Connecting to Director localhost:9101
1000 OK: labobe2-dir Version: 2.4.4 (28 December 2008)
Enter a period to cancel a command.
mount LAB3Storage
Automatically selected Catalog: MyCatalog
Using Catalog MyCatalog
3906 File device LAB3Device (/usr/home/netplus/labobe3/bacula) is always
mounted.
You have messages.
@sleep 10
restore jobid=160 restoreclient=labobe3 client=labobe3
where=C:/bacula-restores storage=LAB3Storage pool=LAB3Rep2DailyCycle
fileset=LAB2Rep2FileSet all done yes
You have selected the following JobId: 160

Building directory tree for JobId 160 ...
1 Job, 6 files inserted into the tree and marked for extraction.
Bootstrap records written to /var/db/bacula/labobe2-dir.restore.2.bsr

The job will require the following
   Volume(s) Storage(s)SD Device(s)
===

   LAB3Rep2Daily-0045LAB3Storage LAB3Device

6 files selected to be restored.

The defined Restore Job resources are:
 1: LAB2Rep1RestoreFilesJob
 2: LAB2Rep2RestoreFilesJob
 3: LAB1Rep1RestoreFilesJob
 4: LAB1Rep2RestoreFilesJob
 5: LAB3Rep1RestoreFilesJob
 6: LAB3Rep2RestoreFilesJob
Select Restore Job (1-6): @sleep 10
status dir
Expected a positive integer, got: status dir
Select Restore Job (1-6): @quit

So I copy this line « restore jobid=160 restoreclient=labobe3
client=labobe3 where=C:/bacula-restores storage=LAB3Storage
pool=LAB3Rep2DailyCycle fileset=LAB2Rep2FileSet all done yes » and put it
in bconsole. Then bconsole ask me to define a Restore Job ressources.

So I search to have the same line with directive like «
jobrestore=LAB3Rep2RestoreFilesJob » or « restorejob=LAB3Rep2RestoreFilesJob »
But I had :

*restore jobid=160 restoreclient=labobe3 client=labobe3
where=C:/bacula-restores storage=LAB3Storage pool=LAB3Rep2DailyCycle
fileset=LAB2Rep2FileSet all done yes jobrestore=LAB3Rep2RestoreFilesJob
Unknown keyword: jobrestore

[...]

Unknown keyword: restorejob

I search the good directive. Then I could correct my webacula source. Someone
knows the good instruction ?

Thanks,
Regards

François

[Bacula-users] webacula list job files by size

2009-02-01 Thread RYAN vAN GINNEKEN
Hello again all i have a couple more questions about webacula most important is
there a way to list the job files by size? Example my server just did a 5G
incremental dump that is usually about 100M. I live in Canada and bandwidth is
expensive so i have to find out why this is such a large backup and prevent it
from happening again.

Is there a way to arrange the list of job files? or some other method using
bconsole?

2009-02-01 Thread Kevin Keane
In bconsole: First find the job's JobId.

Then use the query command, then choose option 12.

I don't know about webacula; it probably has the same functionality
somewhere, too.

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula on dapper

2009-01-24 Thread RYAN vAN GINNEKEN
Ok did the upgrade to Hardy 8.04 LTS but i have some problems

On dapper bacula package was to old 1.3 something so i installed bacula from
source 2.4.0 at the time. However now that i have upgraded i keep getting the
error below

I tried to install the bacula package because it in 2.2.8 in Hardy hoping to
fix the problem but alas i still get the same error. Have tried a make
uninstall, make, clean make distclean in the bacula 2.2.0 source directory but
it does not seem to be helping. how do i get ride of all the old bacula so the
Hardy package will work?? or would it be better to reinstall bacula from
source? using 2.2.4 or course. I remember source install took me a couple of
days and there is a thread somewhere on this list I started helping me through
the process. Guess i should start looking for that should be the same/similar
process on Hardy with 2.2.4 right?

ps maybe i should start another thread for this

I've verify, the minimal version for running ZF should be at least 5.1.4
your is only 5.1.2 and ZF embedded with webbacula is 1.5.1
Did you see the readme inside the ZF.tar.gz
It clearly state that.

Better is a 5.2x version ( due to spl requirement ).
Actually with 1.7x version the minimal was raised to 5.2.4 (better to use the
lastest 5.2.8.

But don't upgrade to 1.7 without verifying that webbacula support it. As
there's a lots of changes.

Sorry for you, this would drive to upgrade your php version, or move webbacula

Oh that dreaded word upgrade I knew my php was a bit behind, must be stubborn
had to try. I am running ubuntu 6.06 LTS on this machine have not checked but
guessing this would require a php install from source.

As another option i will be moving to knew hardware soonish maybe i sould use
this opportunity to upgrade ubuntu before the transition?? Ok off i go to do
6.06 LTS to 8.04 LTS that should bring me up to a newer version of php right?

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula on dapper

2009-01-21 Thread Yuri Timofeev
Try
su -l apache -s /bin/sh -c /usr/sbin/bconsole -n -c /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf

works OK?

Add following line to the file .htaccess

php_value open_basedir /usr/sbin:/etc/bacula:/tmp

and try webacula again.

This is not a bug bacula, webacula or php.

/etc/bacula/bconsole - is shell script.
Sets permission on /sbin/bconsole and use /sbin/bconsole instead
/etc/bacula/bconsole.

You should have to make that it will work:
su www-data -s /bin/sh -c /sbin/bconsole -n -c /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf

Re: [Bacula-users] Webacula on dapper

2009-01-20 Thread Bruno Almeida
Hi

I just installed webacula on a CentOS box and was getting the same error
regarding bconsole.

Not sure if it is the same problem, but I was getting this error on the
apache logs:

sudo: sorry, you must have a tty to run sudo

So edited /etc/sudoers and commented out the following line:
#Defaultsrequiretty

It might not be the same on dapper, but worth trying.

The Zend Package is deliver with webbacula.
did you see the message : 'Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception' ;-)

You have a trouble with your php base installation.
 ZF need to have the pdo + pdo-mysql | pdo-postgresql | pdo-sqlite
 database drivers.
choose the drivers to be one of the database your bacula is running.

I'm pretty sure you can get this package from a repository for
 dapper.
The other way to have them is by pecl install.

button in webacula. This is with the perms on bconsole and bconsole.conf set
to 777 not to sure about the sudo stuff as i am using the other method covered
in the INSTALL doc. I will give the sudo method a try and let this list know
the outcome soon.

Did a locate on suoshin nothing comes up also searched for it in the
/etc/php5/apache2/php.ini again nothing comes up.

PS docs developer should add a bit about what needs to be inside the
webacula.users auth file as i or others? might be unclear and have turned auth
off for now.

[Bacula-users] webacula + logbook

2007-10-26 Thread Yuri Timofeev
Hi, there

Allow to disturb dear community once again ;)
For this purpose there is a following occasions.

1. In the new version (1.0.beta build 2007.10.25, SVN revision 45) of the
webacula has a LogBook.
Logbook - is simple electronic journal of backups. Records in LogBook are
insert, modify, delete manually by the operator. Records can contain links
(usual web-links on which it is possible to click) to Bacula Jobs or links
to other records of this LogBook.
In logbook insert records, for example, about Jobs, failures of the
equipment, supernumerary situations, etc.

See screenshots http://webacula.sourceforge.net//screenshot.php for details.

Logbook stored in a separate database webacula, now it is supported MySQL
only.
After the structure of a DB webacula will be tested, support of other DBMS
will be immediately added.

2. The webacula had a website http://webacula.sourceforge.net/

Thanks for your attention.

Hi.

webacula 0.5.beta

Differences from numerous competitors:
1. View the detailed list of files (together with attributes: the
size, date/time, access rights) under each Job. Such even bconsole is
not able.
2. Builds the graphical timeline from any expired day. It convenient
for planning jobs.

There are real screenshots:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/webacula

The project constantly is in development, therefore releases while are
not present.
Get new version:
svn co http://webacula.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/webacula/trunk web dir

On this advantages come to an end ;) and lacks begin ;)

This is read only. You can examine the state of the backups but
cannot write to anything and therefore can do no damage.

System Requirements:

Bacula 1.38 or later.
Zend Framework (webacula developed and tested under version 1.0.1)
Zend Framework is built with object-oriented PHP 5 and requires PHP
5.1.4 or later with PDO extension active.
Apache and mod_rewrite.
Installed php-gd package.

License GPL3

Really? I have it completely working on my systems -- what's the trouble
you're having?

My favorite feature of webacula is the chart of the hours that backups
are being conducted. I'd love to do something like this for just
internal processes that happen on my systems, but this is somewhat of a
start.
