Re: [bareos-users] backup large number of SQL databses

2020-02-28 Thread damjan jancic
Dear Brock,

It is the backup of MS SQL server databases(not mysql).
When I remove database name from the file set I got an error:

"Fatal error: An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO
statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for
empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the
alias to a valid name"

When I remove all part databases=<$databsename> I got an error:

"Fatal error: An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO
statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for
empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the
alias to a valid name."

File set:

Fileset {
Name = "testowt-sql-fileset"
Enable VSS = No
Include {
Options {
   Signature = MD5
   compression = gzip
}
Plugin =
"mssqlvdi:instance=default:database=testowt:username=btest:password=**"
}
}
Kind regards,
Damjan

[bareos-users] Director messages not consistent with actions

2020-02-28 Thread Bruce Eckstein
I changed my fileset for one of my clients last night. The director did
what that fileset indicated. OK great,

but when I look at the director messages for last night it says the
following:

FileSet:"Full_Laptop_Set" 2020-01-01 10:03:02

so what is the date really indicating. I would have thought the date would be
2020-02-27 18:21:xx (or the UTC version of that date) as that is the date on
the Full_Laptop_Set.conf file in my configuration directories

[bareos-users] Re: Concurrent jobs and Consolidate Jobs

2020-02-28 Thread Urban Persson
Hi,

Do you run this consolidation job with higher priority number so the job
will wait until all other backup jobs finished?
Normally backupjobs is Priority 10 and Consolidate is Priority 11.

Can that be the issue?

[bareos-users] Re: changing default location of bareos.sql

2020-02-28 Thread Urban Persson
Hi

I this case you need to change in the script that runs before and after the
backupjob
In "/usr/lib/bareos/scripts/make_catalog_backup.pl" you find the following
line:
my $wd = "/var/lib/bareos";

wd = working directory

I guess you need to change even in the cleanup script running after job,
"/usr/lib/bareos/scripts/delete_catalog_backup"

Then, NOT to forget you need to change the backupjobs Fileset, and add yur
new path to your database dumpfile here in File=:

FileSet {
  Name = "Catalog"
  Description = "Backup the catalog dump and Bareos configuration files."
  Include {
Options {
  signature = MD5
}
File = "/var/lib/bareos/bareos.sql" # database dump
File = "/etc/bareos"   # configuration
  }
}

Good luck!

// Urban

[bareos-users] changing default location of bareos.sql

2020-02-28 Thread 'DUCARROZ Birgit' via bareos-users

Hi,

I would like to change the default location of the bareos.sql dump to
another share.

I changed in
/usr/lib/bareos/defaultconfigs/bareos-dir.d/fileset/Catalog.conf

and in
/etc/bareos/bareos-dir.d/fileset/Catalog.conf

and restarted the services.
But the dump is still writing into /var/lib/bareos

what am I missing?

Kind regards,
Birgit

Yes, as a workaround it should help you out until the proposed patch has
been applied and new packages are available for download.

If you feel comfortable enough you can apply the patch yourself, see
https://github.com/bareos/bareos/pull/439/files .

Re: [bareos-users] Backing up WwebDAV

2020-02-28 Thread Spadajspadaj
With Bareos it's usually not a question whether it is possible but how
to do it ;-)

But seriously - since WebDAV is not a storage as such, just a method of
access, you have two options. Either you have access to the server from
which the DAV share is served and you back it up locally. But I suspect
it's not the case since you're asking here. Second option is to use a
plugin to emulate a file for bareos fd. (you always need to have a fd
from which you're performing a backup). Since there is no dedicated
plugin for DAV connectivity, you'd need to either use bpipe or python
plugin to back up/restore a data stream which you'll have to provide
from a custom script retrieving data from DAV share. You have to have a
"helper" host though so you'd connect to fd installed on host A from
which you launch script connecting to host B which hosts the DAV share
and downloading data from it.
