One missing thing in my book is the bbdb-sc replacement. I loved
supercite but haven't been able to use it since going to bbdb3. And,
seriously, I'm constantly tempted to go back because a better binding
doesn't exist.

MJS (Seeing your question tells me that I have not missed 'upgrade

Yeah, it's on my todo list as one of these days I should look into
upgrading but because it's not going to be a painless-upgrade it's not
high on my priority list.

I'd like to see org-contacts get better actually. I think it offers an
easier to use interface for editing/manipulating the data, but I doubt
it can ever match the speed of bbdb.

Ronan Changing BBDB's backend is something I've experimented with,

Sadly, it'd be really nice to have that separation in place. I was
just thinking the other day that this is really what is needed to get
BBDB to sync well with a bunch of other stuff. It'd be handy if I
could keep my bbdb info in my kaddressbook, for example, and use a
loader to tell bbdb where to get/put data from (I don't actually use
the GUI interface to kaddressbook, for example, but at least it would
sync with a bunch of other stuff better). The downside, I'm sure,
would be speed...

I'm certain my palm will never contain all the information that my

best palm sync option these days?

2005-03-04 Thread Wes Hardaker

Ok, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and sync with my palm. It
appears there are two options to choose from: 1) the one-way jwz
export and 2) the SyncBBDB for pilot manager (which I don't use) but
the web page for it appears to be broken (at least from the link on
the bbdb site).

So, what is the best these days? Any advice? I'd love something
bi-directional (the goal of SyncBBDB) but will live with a one way if
need be.

Actually, I think the function might be gnus-extra-header to pull it
and you simply have to put it in gnus-extra-headers and
possibly nnmail-extra-headers to record it into the default list of
headers to think about.

Mats Is there some way to ignore addresses that are old?

Actually, my problem is that one person is now sending all her mail to
lists using a unique address. Everytime I see a message from her,
bbdb prompts me for adding her address to the db. Obviously, I do not
but I do want to keep her current entry in the DB. I was tempted to
delete it, but I do use the entry occasionally.

Maybe we need a ignore regexp or something? (of course there could be
one and I'm just ignorant).
