Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: Disappearing Music library
Are you running with the included MySQL server or are you running another? I am running my own MySQL instance. It sounds like I have the same problem as you discovered. My setup sounds very similar to yours: Windows XP Pro server with Perl version of SlimServer 6.5b1, svn9171 using ActiveState Perl 5.8.8 build 817. External MySQL 5.0.21 run on the same server. SlimServer run as a service using srvany.exe and installed with instsrv.exe from the Windows Resource Kit. Everything was fine until yesterday I believe, as I usually run a batch job twice a day to stop the service, update svn and restart. I noticed my library was empty yesterday morning. ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
[SlimDevices: Beta] RandomPlay problem
I am currently experiencing an issue with SlimServer with an external MySQL DB, whereby at startup the database is cleared. Rather than rescan my whole library multiple times whilst investigating this problem, I have been browsing the music folder to get a single album into the DB. This morning, my SlimServer alarm clock fired, which is set up to play random tracks. With just one album listed in the database (via BMF), I got the following crash: 2006-08-26 07:20:01.7547 DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') ) ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 10' at line 1 at P:\Music\SlimServer\trunk\server\CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 743. 2006-08-26 07:20:01.7549 ERROR: Error executing 'SELECT me.id, me.url, me.content_type, me.title, me.titlesort, me.titlesearch, me.album, me.tracknum, me.timestamp, me.filesize, me.disc, me.thumb, me.remote, me.audio, me.audio_size, me.audio_offset, me.year, me.secs, me.cover, me.vbr_scale, me.bitrate, me.samplerate, me.samplesize, me.channels, me.block_alignment, me.endian, me.bpm, me.tagversion, me.drm, me.moodlogic_id, me.moodlogic_mixable, me.musicmagic_mixable, me.musicbrainz_id, me.playcount, me.lastplayed, me.lossless, me.lyrics, me.rating, me.replay_gain, me.replay_peak FROM tracks me LEFT JOIN genre_track genreTracks ON ( genreTracks.track = me.id ) WHERE ( audio = ? [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: New plugin: RadioTime
A few suggestions ... SORT ORDER Sorting left to right when the radio station name is prefixed by its frequency might work well for people in the listening area who know the frequency, but for others or even for locals with RDS radios (I guess primarily Europe) they probably rarely see or hear the frequency because the station name is presented ... plus (UK) national stations are diferent frequencies in different parts of the country. SEARCH There are a lot of stations - and Browsing through 100+ in a Genre when trying to find a particular one (at the Squeezebox) is a bit of a pain (especially if you don't know the frequency). PROGRAMME NEXT ON... This might break the business model for RadioTime - but anyway here is the thought. If I occasionally try to find a particular US show - I can put it in My Radio and then (I presume) it will appear playable in the menu if I happen to browse (at Slimserver or Web) if it is on somewhere that RadioTime knows about (in the same way that PublicRadioFan web site can show when a programme is on somewhere). However, if it could show when it is next on - then I may well come back and listen then. e.g. Car Talk - next on live in X hours/minutes (by saying in X hours/minutes you get around timezone issues) This might mean that I would not buy the RadioTime Recorder - hence my comment about the business model. On the other hand it might mean that users might get to like a show more and want to listen even more and would rather have the convenience of it being auto-recorded rather than having to remember to come back at the right time. -(Independent of SB or RadioTime, recording streaming programmes based on schedule or EPG entries is possible for free anyway - but if RadioTime has a simple, foolproof and integrated system then maybe sales will flow)- -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26682 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta

Also note that we support a bitrate attribute in the OPML, so you can do: outline text=KUHB-FM MP3 URL=... bitrate=96 type=audio / Is there a way to browse by radio program yet? I didn't see a menu for that. Is there a way to mark an item so that it can play, and - will give more options? That way, you can play from the station or hit - to see more options? I'll add the bitrate to the streams. Programs show up in my radio and the best of categories. Programs show up when browsing by genre on the web site. [SlimDevices: Beta] Sort by artist
Hi guys. Just wanted to post this and see if I could get some help or if it is a known problem. I'm using the latest nightly build for Windows XP. When using the Sort By Artist, Album (or Artist, Year, Album) in the dropdown, my artists aren't following the alphabet at the top. For instance, if I click on the letter A, I see the artists starting with numbers (which is fine), the letter A, and then a few starting with B on the same page. At the top, only the numbers and letter A are in bold. This pattern continues down the alphabet. So when I click on T there are no artists because they are on the M page. Basically they are all shifting up the alphabet. I use Fishbone as my skin but it happens on all the skins I tried except Touch. Not sure what the difference is there. It doesn't happen in Fishbone on the build from 8/1 but I've tried several builds since then and it happens everytime. I have FLAC's and MP3's. I have tried to debug but wasn't sure what flags to set. I used sql, info, scan and artwork but nothing jumped out at me. Any help would be appreciated.
