[SlimDevices: Beta] Sync Up failed: No such player ? Softsqueeze pauses
Hi, I've recently upgraded to SC7.0 through the debian packages (7.0-17600) and all is well except for periodic pauses in playback from Softsqueeze. They coincide with the 'Sync Up failed: No such player' messages in the server log below. The player MAC address it's listing is that set in the Softsqueeze configuration. (I assume the messages about www.beta.squeezenetwork.com are transient and not important here). My other half tells me she used to have the odd pause with 6.5.3 but it's become more noticeable since the upgrade. No similar problems with the SB3 we also use. [SlimDevices: Beta] Pandora Stops
Another strange thing I have noticed over the last couple of weeks is Pandora keeps stopping. I will be listening to a radio station and suddenly, it will just stop. I use the Sirius plugin as well and am not seeing the same behavior. The player doesn't lock up or anything. The song ends, the stream stops, and the player goes into the RSS feed (my screensaver). I don't remember this happening in 6.5x, but in 7.01 (latest nightly), it does. Is this normal behavior or something new? I can go back to the radio station and play it again, but after a random number of songs, it stops (similar to the end of an album) -- broth420 broth420's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1676 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43654 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] flac files and embedded cue sheets
In the flac format, a distinction is made between the cuesheet format that is native to flac -- which contains only track timing information (metadata type 2), and an embedded cuesheet which contains genre, title, performer, composer, etc, which is actually nothing more than a metadata type 4 vorbis comment with a CUESHEET label. Though they are referred to by the same name, they are actually different. The command you used above, metaflac.exe --import-cuesheet-from=cdimage.cue cdimage.flac, just imports the timing data to that type 2 cuesheet block. [SlimDevices: Beta] Softsqueeze 3.6 headless?
This is likely a newby sort of question, but I hope to avoid doing the digging myself: Is there an easy way to get Softsqueeze 3.6 to run in headless mode once it has been installed? I'm not familiar with how the downloaded app differs from a jar, but when I look at what is being run it doesn't look at all like what the previous versions looked like. -- stephenkca stephenkca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7820 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43669 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Loading ...............
I decided to try Internets Exploder (I never use that browser anymore) and I do notice it's a LITTLE faster, but it still takes forever a lot of the time to load a page in Squeezecenter. Even from the native/server machine! All I want to do is have near-instant access to my music, to press the PLAY button on either the remore or the web interface, and have it start playing within a second or so. I don't want to wait what sometimes takes 30 seconds to a minute or two for it to start playing music. I LOVE the Squeezebox, but I am really getting tired of the sluggish performance of SC!! I just want to play music! -- NFLnut NFLnut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13180 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43417 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] flac files and embedded cue sheets
I've got a windows utility that will pull metadata from the CDPLAYER.INI file and mark up a cuesheet with performer, genre, comments, etc. A fair amount of windows cd ripping software stores metadata in CDPLAYER.INI. Watch this thread. I'll post a link to the utility in a day or so. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43640 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] flac files and embedded cue sheets
elite1967;271007 Wrote: BTW, what is the command add-reply-gain for? Replay gain is a standard that Slimserver/Squeezecenter supports which allows volume normalization. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replay_gain Metaflac will scan the audio data using the replay gain algorithm and add a series of comment tags to your flac file: e.g. Code: comment[0]: REPLAYGAIN_REFERENCE_LOUDNESS=89.0 dB comment[1]: REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN=-1.47 dB comment[2]: REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_PEAK=1. comment[3]: REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN=-1.47 dB comment[4]: REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_PEAK=1. If you have the volume adjustment feature turned on in SqueezeCenter (Settings-Players-Audio-Volume Adjustment/Replay Gain=Album Gain) then the player will adjust the playback volume so that perceived volume is supposed to remain constant from album to album. It seldom really works that way, but it's better than nothing. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43640 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Controller Network Testing
Thanks for the testing guys. The newest nightly builds of the Controller firmware have the bug fixed, so I'm unsticking this as there's no bug left to play with. -- blblack blblack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11129 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43517 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Perl went wonky on me today.....
Ok, I don't think I've changed anything in my Perl, but when I upgraded SqueezeCenter this morning, I started seeing messages like below. At first, I figured Squeezecenter was broken, but I downgraded and continued to get the same messages. Wipe plugin-data.yaml from SC's cache folder and start SC with additionl --d_startup --debug server.plugin=debug parameters to get some more information. Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] New Default skin
Could you please run the following form the shell: ../scanner.pl --wipe --rescan --debug artwork=debug Then upload the scanner.log file. I ran the command, and got a lot of PERL messages (errors?). So I included that error log (duck.log) That file is almost empty? And no sign of the artwork debugging. Did you include all the output?
