Somehow i missed all of this. Makes little sense to me, whats the rationale behind this? Why would we want pre-sets AND favourites. Talk about confusing. You can have any amount of favorites, and structure them in a hierarchy. Whereas IR remotes and player front panels have a limited number of preset buttons. So I quite like the idea of separating them out, and even becoming per-player prefs. However, it really needs a management page. There's lots of support for favorites (add/remove/edit in player UI, web UI, CLI, etc), but not much for presets. And are presents stored on MySB.com and local SbS? I always had Random Track, Random Album and a favourite playlist assigned to Fav buttons and I couldn't find a way to do this with presets so I hacked the prefs file and it seems to work ok. Thinking about it though, maybe you can assign a favourite to a preset? now presets and favourites are different is there anyway to change the stream name of a preset? I ask because all of my presets are radio stations. These current have titles like 'BBC Radio 1 (London, United Kingdom). The length of them causes the name to scroll. I would like to truncate the name to just 'BBC Radio 1'. Is this possible? I must have missed the whole discussion about presets being separated from favorites. Perhaps these questions have been answered already: 1. How do you clear a preset? 2. How do you see what presets have been set up? 3. What ways are there to set/configure the presets? 4. Is it possible to set things like random song mix as a preset? 5. Hi there I found this out after I complained my favourites and hardware buttons no longer seemed to be linked! As I understand it now presets can only be set on the device not using SBS. There is no mechanism for configuring them in software. Yes ! i can just hold a button on my boom and it saves the current playing channel as a preset. If people are actually told about the functionality, they might use it! This is good, for channels (internet radio streams), but how does it work for favorite albums, playlists, etc. i.e. play an album or playlist, press and hold a preset button, and it stores the currently playing track. And it is per *player* finally after all these years, kudos congrats good work etc. Per-player is good, in a way. I guess it migrated old favorite preset numbers to all that the squeezebox server was aware of when upgrading. If I connect new players, I have to set them up on those new players? No way of synchronising all players to have the same set of presets? Presets stored per user profile would be better (hoping for the future). No ! There is no way at all to admin those presets in the web UI *sigh* would it be to much to add an presets tab to player settings ? hint hint ;) I think it really needs something. Presets saves 1 song when using a playlist, they are meant for channels apearently. I think I see the future user cases here: The new radios boom and radio ,it makes perfect sense to have channels as preset for the 1-6 button on the front favorites as a menu item with the old functionality where you have your favorites as before . Win win, you basically gets local presets and global favorites. The duet SBR/SBC you don't have any 1-6 buttons favorites as before. And now i discovered that on my SB3 the 1-6 is favorites as before :) So the preset is boom/radio this starts to make sense . Yet to be reveiled how is Touch handling prest/favorite it has an remote with 1-6 buttons does it have a special favorite or preset button ?
