I'm running 27942 and there is no SQL that includes reference to

hm, that rings a bell... more than one week ago I tried to change sort

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] latest 7.4 is broken

2009-08-05 Thread Keymaster

With August 3 nightly (28008), my server's HD is spinning constantly (I
figured it out when I stopped SC and it immediately stopped).

Being as I don't want to kill me HD by having it spin in perpetuity, I
have elected to leave things stopped for now, pending a fix of some
sort. No separate server/PC for me yet and it was massively slowing my
system down. If there's a log that would help, pls. tell me where to
find it and I'll be glad to submit.

Thanks!!

Can't you just select to view the HTML source in the web browser and
see if it contains your changes or not ?

The browsedb.html file is taken from your Squeezebox Server
installation directory from the file:

If you use Default skin:
- HTML/Default/browsedb.html

If you use Classic or Fishbone skin:
- HTML/EN/browsedb.html

I'm guessing that you might also see your changes after the ?
character in the url you listed.

You could try to clear the web browser cache, although I don't think
this is the problem.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] latest 7.4 is broken

2009-08-05 Thread tamanaco

Today's Windows build 28065 takes a very long time to start. During the
startup process SqueezeSrv.exe hands control over to mysqld.exe and this
process hugs the CPU at 90%+ for over 12 minutes. I'm sure there is no
scanning being done during this period as scanner.exe process never
comes up.

On a couple occasions the SquezeSrv.exe crashed when I tried advance a
track using the progress bar in the player panel of the Web UI. I found
the error below in the Window's app event log, but I don't know if it is
related to the crash. As expected, there were no messages left in the

Yes, I Can - but there are no changes - everything is set to album.
nothing to albums. Besides, all files are from 04-08-2009, yesterday,
when I did the clean re-install.

No, it's not - but maybe we could try to fix it and find it step by

The arists name in the Web Interface links to

http://127.0.0.1:9000/browsedb.html?hierarchy=contributor,album,tracklevel=1contributor.id=508player=X

(seems right?)

clicking on it produces the SQL-error below:

But where did this SQL-statement result from`?
You told me, there must be album.year instead of albums.year - but
who wrote this statement? Can't find it in the browsedb.html (sorry,
I'm only speaking HTML and a little PHP, so my question may seem
naive...)

If we could find where and why this statement is produced, we maybe
could fix the error?

btw: Clearing the cache didn't change anything

Thanks

Could you try to:

2. Clear all cookies in Internet Explorer (or at least all that belongs

this isonly a recognition besides, for it only happens in safe mode,
the problem is in normal mode it says it CAN reach/listen to port 9000
and i can get the start page - but nothing more. clicking any link
(including just options) leads to loding... endlessly but showing no
side.
the only thing i changed with this installation, i used the faster
options for artwork scan and i disabled the statistics box (counting
albums etc., it said it would make scanning faster and it has been 4
times faster...) any connection to be seen with this?

many thanks

It looks to me as if your installation has partially failed and you are
left with a malformed database.
I would do a remove install via Control Panel, restart the PC and then
a fresh install of the latest 7.4 nightly.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] latest 7.4 is broken

2009-08-04 Thread frank1969

That's just what I did.

To tell the whole story:
- The same error happened within the last SQLite Nightly (so i had to
do a re-install),
- It happened again with the first Mysql 7.4,
- Then i de-installed, even cleaned registry from anything looking like
squeeze* or mysql* and did a reinstall... with a new scan (about 5
hours).

I just know a little about MySQL, but I run the line in the error file
and it seems that the mistake is produced by the '?' part of the
sql-statement?

Maybe one of the developers could tell me where this error message
could result from or what I could check

THANKS!

No, that's a red herring. Think of '?' as a placeholder, which is what
it is.

The query was (reformatted to be a ton easier to read):

Code:

  SELECT album.id, album.titlesort, album.contributor, album.compilation,
  album.year, album.artwork, album.disc, album.discc,
  album.musicmagic_mixable, album.titlesearch, album.replay_gain,
  album.replay_peak, album.musicbrainz_id, album.title
  FROM contributors me
  LEFT JOIN contributor_album contributorAlbums
  ON contributorAlbums.contributor = me.id
  JOIN albums album ON album.id = contributorAlbums.album
  WHERE ( me.id = ? )
GROUP BY album.id ORDER BY albums.year,
  concat('0', contributors.namesort),
  concat('0', albums.titlesort)
  LIMIT 32

The key is the little bit in the log file after that:
 with ParamValues: 0=243

ie, the first ? being replaced with 243.

What it is mad about is much simpler: it says there is no column called
'year' in the albums table.

Which means something somewhere in the db initializing went horribly
wrong: there should be a 'year' column.

There is a year in albums, but the albums table is aliased as album

ORDER BY album.year instead of ORDER BY albums.year.

However, it's still strange because my setup still generates a correct
