Re: Debian download source on ISC website
The authoritative source is bind.debian.net that can be redirected. But the primary reason is that I already have the infrastructure ready and I also maintain BIND 9 packages directly in Debian, so the contents mirror what ends up in Debian. Thank you for your reply. Out of interest, what is the reasoning behind hosting the binaries on your sury.org domain as opposed to the isc.org domain? If (heaven forbid) something should happen to you, wouldn't hosting on the isc.org domain more easily facilitate the possibility of redirecting the package hosting without users having to reconfigure their sources? -- Visit https://lists.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/bind-users to unsubscribe from this list ISC funds the development of this software with paid support subscriptions. Re: Debian download source on ISC website
If by production-ready you mean it’s reasonably well-tested, we are using it ourselves and it also matches what’s being uploaded to Debian directly then yes. If you mean there will be no bugs and it will magically work until the end of times without any effort then you might be disappointed. Debian download source on ISC website
Hello, When browsing for Debian download sources on https://www.isc.org/download/ , there is a link to https://bind.debian.net/bind When clicking on https://bind.debian.net/bind I am redirected to https://packages.sury.org/bind/ Since it is listed on https://www.isc.org/download/ , can I assume packages.sury.org is an official ISC download source suitable for production deployment?
