[Blind-Computing] Question about Re Compieling Scripts

2007-07-02 Thread Mich
Hi all. I have a question about how to recompile scripts for the program w i n
m x. I have the scripts in the right folder in the explore jaws settings enu.
The problem is I don't really know how to re compile them since I need to do
this in order to get the program to work properly. I have herd from some one on
the winmx list that you need to open the jaws script manager and then re
compile them from there. I have managed to open the script manager but then I
am a bit stuck. If some one can help me out with this that would be grate. Many
thanks. from Mich Verrier.

I have Office Pro 2000 on my PC and would like to upgrade to 2003. Can

[Blind-Computing] Problem installing Openbook 7.02 update

2007-07-02 Thread Missy Hoppe
Hello, all. I apologize in advance if some of you already received this
message on the blindtech list, but I wanted to send my question to as many
appropriate lists as I could think of in hopes of finding someone that can
help me resolve this issue.
Now that I've got my new computer up and running, I decided to install my
openbook 7.0 CD. I had no problem with the install,
but when I tried applying the Openbook 7.02 update, I received the
following error message.

Cannot Install Update
The version information for the current version of OpenBook could not be
found. Setup will now abort.
OK

I downloaded the 367 MB update file from Freedom Scientific's web site, so
am not sure why it wouldn't install. I remember having this same error
occur on my old computer system, but I never actively pursued getting the
issue resolved when I first encountered it. Now that I've got my new
computer and the Officejet 6200 scanner, though, I would really like to
have openbook available to use, and I would really like to update to
version 7.02, because I remember from back when I was still running under
Windows 98 that that version was significantly more responsive than plain
old version 7.0. Is there a documented bug that won't allow the update to
install under windows xp?
I wrote to Freedom Scientific about this as well, but thought it couldn't
hurt to post to this list as someone may have encountered this problem and
found a way around it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have,
and I hope that everyone is having a really great day!
Missy
