[Blind-Computing] Jaws 9.0 keeps losing focus.
Hi all, I'm using Jaws 9.0, windows XP, Outlook Express 6 and Internet Explorer 8. When I use the find message feature in Outlook Express, Jaws loses focus. For example: as I arrow down through the messages, it will keep saying, "Unread message." Then if I go to my desktop or in any other program and do first letter navigation, Jaws doesn't say anything. I've tried to do a Google search on this but had no success in getting the dilemma resolved. So any help is appreciated and I thank you in advance. Debbie G. Owner: Anxiety Depression Group. [Blind-Computing] transferring multiple identities from outlook express
Hi list, It's AC. I want to know if I can have my various identities exported from Outlook Express on my laptop and import them on my father's desktop? If so, how do I go about doing this? I really don't want to have to set up each of my family member's identities manually if I can avoid it. However, if I have to I will since that's how they got set up in the first place. :) The reason I want to do this is so that I can use my laptop without interruption, and they can check there e-mail without having to wait for me to do it for them. :) Thanks in advance. Re: [Blind-Computing] All those wonderful social sites
Hi, Yes the need to actually learn a browser in this case is truly a myth. The only real difference you'll see is that you use control L to open a location in stead of Control plus O in IE. But once you get used to it, the Control plus L keystroke works in IE as well. The page loads with Firefox and Jaws are much faster too. Re: [Blind-Computing] All those wonderful social sites
Hello. Now the captchas are not a problem for us. the best tool that is helping us to solve this problem, is called Web visum. I know that many of those who are in this list, are users of this great tool. this add-on for firefox is helping many blind persons around the world, and I say that the creator of Web visum is now living in the paradise. I mean that this person who I don't know his or her name, is making an excelent thing for the blind comunitty. now we don't have to suffer if we want to register in a forum, a social network, a site to upload torrents etc. if the site requires captcha, then we can sighn up without the help of human eyes. I'm writing these words because someone start talking about the problem with the captchas, so I just want to make this parenthesis. Re: [Blind-Computing] Bad Program
I have come to this thread late so this may have already been said. As I understand it you are trying to delete a applet from the control Panel. Applets in the Control panel will normally be actually programs with a cpl extension. For example if you type access.cpl in the run dialogue box you will open up the Accessibility Wizard from the Control Panel. As you have been unable to properly remove the applet through an un-install I would try the following. Go to the Start Menu and select search. I have turned off the search assistant so this assumes that you have done the same. The search term you need to search for is *.cpl This should after a few minutes pull up all the files with a cpl control panel extension on your Pc. Search through the list of results and see if you can find a file corresponds to the applet you want to remove. I would not initially delete it but move it somewhere else, just in case you make a mistake and you want to put something back that is crucial. Perhaps you should try this out first and tell us how you get on. Regards David Griffith My Low Vision Resources Web Site is http://www.nonags.org/members/dajgriff/ OK What version of Windows are you using? I can give you step by step instructions for re-installing your USB drivers on your machine for XP. I have actually copied this below from my web site. I had Vista taken off my machine so someone with Vista would have to check if the same steps would work with Vista. To do this Unplug all your USB devices with the exception of your keyboard and mouse if you use one. Go to Control Panel and then open the System applet. Pres control tab until you hear hardware. Press tab until you hear Device Manager. Press space to open this. Press tab once to go into a tree view of devices. You need to cursor down until you hear Universal Serial Bus controllers. Press the right cursor key to open this view. You now need to find the core USB driver for your PC. This may be named after your processor. On my PC this driver is called Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Highlight this line and press the delete key. Confirm that you want to delete the driver. Windows will immediately start to re-install it. After a few seconds Windows will recognise your keyboard and mouse. Exit device manager and restart your windows. After windows have completely reloaded start to plug in your USB devices one by one. As you would have cleared the windows database of devices there is a chance that any problems will now disappear as windows re-constructs it USB device database. If this does not work and your hardware is not faulty then I am afraid a system restore or windows re-install is indicated.
