No, that depends on whether you have your harddrive partioned. Re: [Blind-Computing] TURNING OFF THE DESKTOP CLEAN UP WIZARD
Hi Linda, Some people call those pages, some call them tabs because visually it's a multi-page dialog with tabs to click on to switch pages, kind of like one of those old tabbed books with the tabs at the top as if the book's spine was at the bottom of the screen. Control plus tab does the change page trick though. Re: [Blind-Computing] TURNING OFF THE DESKTOP CLEAN UP WIZARD
Hi Linda, These steps do work for XP Home. XP Home is the operating system I am running. After you open the display folder in the control panel you will land on the " Themes " tab. Control tab 1 time to land on the " Desktop " tab. Now tab down 4 times to the customize desktop button and press the space bar. When this dialogue box opens, you will be on the General page. Now tab down 4 times and there should be a check box to run the clean up wizard or not. If you don't want the wizard to run uncheck the box and tab to okay and press enter. Now tab to okay and press enter again and you're done. Hope this helps. Take care. Ah ok I see. I usually prefer claen install on a clean system whenever I do opt for a new operating system. So I guess I may just wait then. Re: [Blind-Computing] Windows 7 Purchase Deal
Not so brilliant, just normal business practice. You preorder something from Amazon, they don't take your money until the product ships. It's always been that way, nothing new here. The deal is for the upgrade disk. I'm not clear on whether it's for upgrading from any versio of Windows or from Vista only. Online places such as Amazon will offer you this deal by default. I have created probably the last list ever, it regards the Open book software package and related peripherals. If anybody is interested in signing up for what I hope will be a very specialized kind of list here is the information. openbook-j...@jaws-users.com Not everything is in place at this point but it is active and would seem to be ready for prime time. There are still some modifications to the help page and so forth to be done along with other details. So let's give it a try for now and see how things go. David Ferrin I tried thinking once but decided it was a bad idea. Re: [Blind-Computing] Jaws on a thump-drive
Hi, You have to download the version of jaws for thumb drives on their web site. Also, there are specific instructions on how to install the program and detailed instructions on the video manager so you should read them directions before proceeding. I am not sure if you have to use a separate key if you use both the thumb drive version and the regular jaws 10. Because we are working here and are there a lot of computers, but I'm having my personal now. Re: [Blind-Computing] getting rid of IE8 update notice
Hi, When you get that notice again, tab to cancel and press enter. I don't know if they have an ie 8 toolkit to stop the downloading of version 8 like they did with version 7 but I think I heard somewhere that they did but I have not found it yet. Re: [Blind-Computing] Outlook 2007 not rendering mail receipt soundwhen jaws is running
Sounds like a hardware specific issue or an Outlook 2007 one. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopher...@googlemail.com MSN: ch9...@hotmail.com Skype: chrishallsworth7266 - Original Message - From: To: Sent: Wednesday, July 08, 2009 12:55 PM Subject: [Blind-Computing] Outlook 2007 not rendering mail receipt soundwhen jaws is running When using outlook 2007 here at work, it seems that as long as jaws 10 is actually running, I will not hear the new mail notification sound when new emails arrive in the inbox. Was just wondering if this would be specific to the machine/hardware configuration, or whether it's something to do with outlook 2007 itsself, but maybe it's just to do with sound channels or something, but jaws and all other sounds on this machine seem to work fine, including other windows sounds like error sounds etc., so really seems like it's just outlook 2007 itsself causing the problem.
