2009-10-18 Thread Mike & Barbara
Hi Brian,

I am aware of copying from the Virtual Cursor and glad you have learned
about it also, but if you receive Email messages that read " cell " and have
tables, using the program and steps that I provided you will alleviate all
of those problems of getting those messages you spoke of when trying to send
/ forward an email.. One other thing that is great about the Email Stripper
program is that if there are any links that lead you to a website or are a
shortcut to something, runnin the email through Email Stripper will keep the
links in tact/ they will still work after the stripping process for the
people you send the email to. Take care.

Just before copying to the clipboard,do an insert+V and hit V to virtual

  copy-from virtual

and hit enter. When you paste all the formatting information will not
  interfere allowing a static pasting.

The site seemed to be very sluggish and a nuisance for working with JAWS. I

Maybe I'll try another service. Any more suggestions?

Pretty sure the first one is due to when you reply to a message in another
text encoding, it might reuse it, and on the format menu, there's a
submenu for encoding, and the top/default one should be alright.

Also, although my outlook express is set to generally use plain text, if I
reply to an HTML mail, it'll sometimes try use HTML as well, and for that
one, on the format menu, the two options for rich text and plain text seem
to be usable to turn this off, but I sometimes seem to have to alternate
between them to sort it out, so often enough, Alt + O, then R to turn on
rich text, and then Alt + O, and then X to enforce plain text formatting
will sort this out, and this won't affect attachments as such.

Stay well

Hi Friends,
I'm using Windows XP Pro, Out Look Express 6 & Jaws 10.0.1154.
The first problem I'm having is about 50% of the time when I send a
message the message says:

send as Unicode,
I then tab once and get:
send as is,
If I continue to tab, it goes between those two choices until I send the
message, and then the page goes blank and I have to alt tab back into the
inbox window. How can I fix this?
The second problem is that quite often when composing a message that I
have copied and pasted into a new message I hear the word:

cell
and just as often in that kind of message it combines all the words into
one line. I tried to paste the message into a word document and heard
some thing about a table, which leads me to believe that some how the
message is in some kind of table. Is there a way to stop Out Look Express
from recognizing tables in a message, but not to affect a table that is
being sent by attachment in a word document? If I send the message that
is reading, cell, to myself it reads without saying the word cell, but
the word cell, reappears if I copy and paste it into a new message. Any
help in solving these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brian,

You need to use an Email cleaning program to clean up all of the HTML crap
that comes with information copied from a website page. The overview &
download link of Email Stripper, an Email cleaning program,, is below.
emailStripper is a free program for cleaning the ">" and other formatting
characters out of your emails. It will restore "forwarded" or "replied"
emails

back to their original state so they're easier to read.

It's simple to use, and best of all it's FREE!

http://www.blind-computing.com/e_mail/programs/emailstripper-installer.exe

The reason you get Jaws saying " cell " is because of the HTML language.
Also, below are the steps on how to use Email Stripper.

1. Open the Email and press control + F to forward it.

2. Enter to whom you are sending the Email to.

3. Tab to the subject line and press the home/7 key to take the cursor to
the beginning of the line

4. Press the delete key to remove any FW: stuff that is in front of the
message title.

5. Tab to the edit field.

6. Press the control + A keys to select the whole message. Now , press
control + C to copy the whole message to the clipboard.

7. Open the Email Stripper program.

8. Tab 1 time, Jaws will say "paste". Press the space bar to paste the
message into the Email Stripper program.

9. Shift tab 1 time, Jaws will say "strip it". Press the space bar to
strip

the Email of the computer language crap.

10. Shift tab 1 time, Jaws will say "edit". Now you will clean the Email
of

the rest of the crap.

11. Press control +home/7 keys to take the cursor to the top of the page.

12. Arrow down to the first line of the message and arro up once to give
yourself some space if possible.

13. Press the home/7 key to take the cursor to the beginning of the line.

14. Press the control + home/7 keys to select from the cursor to the top
of

the page and press the delete key to clean the top of the message.

15. Press the control + end/1 keys to take the cursor to the bottom of the
page.

16. Arrow up to the last line of the message and arro down once or twice
to

give yourself a little room.

17. Press the home/7 key to take the cursor to the beginning of the line.

18. Press control, shift, + end/1 keys to select the text from there to
the
bottom of the page and press the delete key to remove the crap at the
bottom

of the message.

19. You can proofread the message if you like to make sure it is the way
you

want it.

20. Shift tab and Jaws will say "copy". Press space bar to copy the
message.

21. Press Alt + F4 to close the Email Stripper program after you have
copied

the message.

22. You should be back to your original message. Now press control + A to
select everything here and press delete to erase that message because you
are going to put a new message in here.

23. Press the control + V keys to paste the message you had cleaned up
earlier using the Email Stripper program.

24. Now you can send as usual.

Brian, I know this sounds like a lot of steps but, after you get the hang
of
it, it is really simple. Trust me. People will totally appreciate the
fact

that you are sending them clean Emails. I am not quite sure that I have
answered all of your questions, but this much typing has quickened my
visit

to Doctor's Phils couch! LOL I hope this helped to some degree. Take
care.

Although that will work. We are really making this far more complicated
then it really should be. It really doesn't matter if the computers are
connected to the router wired or wirelessly. It only matters that they
are on the same subnet and can communicate with eachother. Assuming both
computers are on the same subnet all that is needed is to run the
network setup wizard on each computer and accomplish the following
tasks:
A) Give each computer a unique name
b) turn on file and printer sharing
c) make sure the workgroup name is the same on each computer (this is
critical)

After that you merely need to share the resources you want on each
computer. By resources I means files, folders and printers and assign
proper security to each resource.

could
not see each other.
For some reason I had to run the network setup again on the desktop this
time from the USB pen and then again from the USB pen on the Netbook.
I cannot remember if I had to reboot or not.
Anyway after the repeated running of the network setup wizard on both
machines it worked.

By the way I am assuming that you have already set up sharing
permissions on
the folders you want to share on the network? Of course nothing will be
seen
unless you set this up under sharing and security in the drive or folder
properties.

Re: [Blind-Computing] networking 2 computers with a wireless router

2009-10-18 Thread Frank Ventura

Hello everyone,

I can't seem to figure out how to network 2 computers together using a

Before, when I networked them through a "hard-wired" router, it was
simple.
I just plugged both into the router, went through the "My Network Places"

documents and print to the printer I had connected to my main computer. I
tried to do the same thing with the wireless setup wizard, but I couldn't
find the steps to set anything up like I did in the regular network setup
wizard. The second computer doesn't see the printer or the main computer.

The main computer is hooked directly into the router, the other computer
that is hooked up wirelessly can't see my shared folder or the printer. I
can't see the wirelessly connected computer either. I also have a 1
terabyte
external drive hooked up to my main computer. I'd like to let the second
computer see that also. I can see it just fine in My Network Places on my
desktop so I figure I got that setup correctly.

Both computers are running XP.

Please help as the second computer is used by my wife in another room and
she has threatened to make me sleep in the dog house if I can't figure it
out; and it's getting cold here in Colorado at night!

Thanks,

Ken
