[Blind-Computing] Splitting mp3s with JAWS
Hi all, I'd be curious if anyone here could recommend an easy-to-use program compatible with JAWS that can be used to split mp3 files, particularly large single-file audiobooks into multiple smaller files. I've tried out a couple programs but haven't been able to find any that work intuitively with JAWS, so any suggestions would be very much appreciated. If a program like this even exists, I'd ideally like one that would let me manually enter the start and end split times without having to use a graphic bar to find and select the start and end points. Hi, The advantage to AudioBookCutter is that it respects the nearest silence to the cut point you suggest rather than splitting files in mid-word. [Blind-Computing] Empty Address Bar
Hi listers. I have suddenly developed a problem with my IE 7 Address Bar. When I press Insert-A to get the web page address, JAWS 9 simply announces Address Bar without giving the address. When I press F6, the Address Bar appears to be empty. When I press Alt-D, JAWS announces Address edit combo 0 items. Rebooting has not resolved this problem. How can I restore the contents of my IE 7 Address Bar? Thanks. Gerald For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Hi, Sorry in didn't include the instructions for this one, here they are. Jon 1. Open the program. When asked about updates tab to no. 2. When the program opens you will be on a left / right slider that will say 17 % this is the time each piece of the cut file will be. This actually means 10 minutes. You will hear this if you tab once. Slide the control left or right with your left and right arrow keys. If you want each piece of the file to be 30 minutes then right arrow until the control says 44 %. 3.Now tab once. You will hear the length and also the name of book the program will use to name the cut pieces. stated. You are now in an edit field where you can type the name of the pieces of the book. This field name defaults to Track. Change it to what ever you like. 4. Now press Alt A to select the book you want to cut up. This is a standard dialog box. Select the file you wish to open. 5. Now to cut the book up and save it, press Alt S. This will bring up a dialog box asking you where you want to save the cut book to. Tab to the tree view and find the folder. Arrow down through the tree to the drive and folder you want to put the book into. Once you find it tab to OK. 6. After a while the program will display a message saying the book has been cut. You are now done. -Original Message- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jacob Kruger Sent: Wednesday, November 04, 2009 9:04 AM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: [Blind-Computing] audio book cutter Just to say that while didn't find any buttons while tabbing around this interface, Alt + A let me add a file, and Alt + S then asked me where to put the split pieces and did a good job compared to bookSplit, which always seemed to decide for itsself how large to make files. I've tried out a couple programs but haven't been able to find any that work intuitively with JAWS, so any suggestions would be very much appreciated. If a program like this even exists, I'd ideally like one that would let me manually enter the start and end split times without having to use a graphic bar to find and select the start and end points.
