Both send space and tag talking are good solutions. Let me clarify
the difference. Send space dot com provides you with a one time
private communication. Tag talking dot net provides you with a public
place where you song stays and can be accessed by anyone and even
indexed and found by web searches. Personally i think that many
people keep there stuff private for no good reason when what they
really need or want is to put it out there and rub it up against the
world.

You might try uploading your song to tagtalking.net and then just
sending them the URL of the song.  Sending long email attachments can
be a bit of a problem through some email systems.  Also if you send it
to multiple people, then you need to upload it each time.  And each of
your recipients has similar problems when they download it.  Why not
just upload it to the internet once and point to it when you want
 somebody to listen.

Yes; the outgoing port is 465 and incoming depends; in POP 995 and now I

Hi guys

wonder if anyone could help with a really strange problem I've got with a
pen drive. I've had this pen drive for about 6 months, up until today it
was fine. I went to move a file on to it and windows told me it was right
protected. I hadn't changed anything so don't know why I got that
message. When I looked on the pen itself there were about 64 files but
non of which I'd placed on the drive. the file names were really weird.
I did consider the drive had a virus of some kind so thought I'd format
it. I cant appear to format the drive, windows keeps telling me I don't
have permission and the drive is right protected.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it? or is this a
dead drive.

I'm using vista so wondered if that was another issue here.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

How long have you had it? Because if it is more than 2 years old, it might

need a new battery. Also, check the power supply to see if it is plugged
in
all of the way. Sounds to me more like a battery problem. Wayne

Wayne could be right that the battery isn't right, and the message about
empty could have something to do with a battery level warning - if using
jaws, you can check whether or not it's charging/maintaining battery levels

by hitting a combo of shift + B + jaws key.

If it's plugged in and fully charged, it should say something like battery
level not found.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Problems formatting pen drive

2010-02-04 Thread Jacob Kruger
Some pen drives do have small slider switches that allow you to lock
them/make them read only, but if you really can't find anything like that,
are you sure this is your original, own one, and that it didn't get swapped
around with someone else's one somehow - unlikely, but still.

Also, I think windows 7 has a way to sort of lock pen/flash drives when they
then get used on other machines, but don't think that would really stop you
from formatting them.

When you try to format this drive, maybe make sure it's contents aren't
being displayed since this would sort of put them in use, which also
shouldn't stop you from formatting it, but I suppose it just could.

In other words, in something like windows XP, and I think also in later
operating systems, hit windows key + E to open windows explorer, if not
already in the file/drive listing, tab over to it, move down to the flash
drive itsself, hit the context menu key, and look for either a format option
there, or else hit enter on properties, and then in that dialogue, ctrl +
tab over to the tools section and look for a format button or something
there.

Hi guys

wonder if anyone could help with a really strange problem I've got with a

I'm using vista so wondered if that was another issue here.

David,

I have had similar issues with factory installed hard drives
in my Acer tower. I was never able to delete that partition
short of running the clean command in diskpart. However,
this totally wipes the hard drive and then you need to put
back the partitions you want. Not a big deal with Image for
Window's but still more work than simply being able to
delete the partition.

hi Jacob

yes tried all that. nope no luck.

I've found a low level format program that sometimes helps. I've just tried
it once with no luck, but the article does say it might have to be formatted
a couple times. so I'll go through that couple more times and see if it
helps.

I'm honestly thinking it's dead but thought I'd try it any way. it was a
free tool. *smiles*

when I look at the properties of the drive it says 0 bytes with 0 bytes
capacity. weird.

when I try to open the drive I get the message saying the device needs to be
formatted, but the format never completes. or I'll get the windows message,
the drive is right protected. also weird.

ah well...least it didn't have anything on it. I'd have been madder than a

What works for me is to create a new folder in the drop box folder. Move

Box folder, arrow or highlight the folder just created, then hit your

[Blind-Computing] tw-inbox vs qwitter

2010-02-04 Thread Kimsan Song
Which one would be easier, tw-inbox or qwitter? I'm struggling with tw-inbox
and hope qwitter is not anymore difficult.

Re: [Blind-Computing] dropbox and public folder

2010-02-04 Thread Juan P Sosa From My Netbook

Hello:
they don't need to have dropbox unless you want them to make changes edit
them or do things to it.
when they click on the link they should be getting a dialog box where they
can either save it or open it.

I tried that and it works fine. The problem is I think in order to share a
folder, the other person has to download dropbox. Is that correct? With
the public folder, I am assuming that they just click on the link, and
they

can play it, read it... Am I understanding correctly? I am in the music
business, and sometimes people would like to hear clips of my music in
order

to decide if they want to hire me. If I can send them this public link, I
would think they could listen to the music.

Candy,

What works for me is to create a new folder in the drop box folder. Move
the files I want to share to that folder. Then go back to the root drop
Box folder, arrow or highlight the folder just created, then hit your
application key, then hit enter on drop box sub menu, then hit enter on
share this folder. you should be able to take it from there.

I just duplicated the steps to ensure I was giving you the correct
information. Let me know if you need further help.

I have asked this question before. People have answered me, but I still
can't get it right. I have put a file into the public folder. Then I
do
an alt F. I go to dropbox submenu. I click on where it says copy
public

link, but when I go to paste that link some place, there is nothing
there. Am I leaving out a step. I left it alone for a while, but now
I'm

back at it again. Thanks for any suggestions. Has anyone had problems
with this?
