You can always create your own hot key to launch Narrator, like
Alt-Control-N.

[Blind-Computing] MAYBE SOMEONE CAN ADVISE

2011-01-05 Thread Josh
Friends,
I am subscribed to Technology List For The Blind as well as many other groups.
As many of you all know the technology list is usually a very high traffic
list. However, for the last two days I have not gotten a single message. I
tried to resubscribe thinking I had been unsubscribed, but got the message
stating that I am already subscribed. Does anyone know of a moderator of that
group I can contact about this problem? Or is this on their end? Thanks

[Blind-Computing] digital signature

2011-01-05 Thread yvonne oliver
hi
i want to add a piece to my emails so that when i send them i don't have to
type it in all the time
i believe this is called digital signature or something like that
i already have my name that will automatically write to the bottom of the email
but i have 2 addresses
i know that the signature or whatever it is called will go on both email
addresses that i send from but i want to modify one of them
for instance as i said i have my first name go at the bottom of the email but i
subscribe to some groups and one of them wants me to include the area i live in
now i don't want the area i live in to be on both so is there a way of
modifying one of them so that this happens
email address 1 has yvonne at the bottom of the text

email address 2 has yvonne UK or perhaps
i live in london UK and yvonne underneath that line
if it is possible how would i do it
thank you
Yvonne

I'm no accessibility trainer, but to launch Narrator I believe you do the
following:
1. Pres Windows key plus letter R, type narrator, then press enter.
2. Press Windows key, type narrator, then press enter.
3. Press Windows key plus letter U, type alt + N.

To close Narrator press Alt + tab until you switch to the narrator window
then hit alt + f4. Press enter on the letter Y and you're done.

You are probably right about key strokes but I guess it depends on your
entry point for narrator.
Sometimes I lose Jaws so I want to have some backup plans like NVDA and
Narrator.
Anyway I installed the NVDA program software and began reading the help and
key commands.

On the MP3 training file he used eloquence from Kurtzweil.
I have Jaws and elloquence but when I use control+n, preferences,
synthesizers I only had 3 options. Do you know how I can get elloquence as
an option?

Thanks,

I'm no accessibility trainer, but to launch Narrator I believe you do the
following:
1. Pres Windows key plus letter R, type narrator, then press enter.
2. Press Windows key, type narrator, then press enter.
3. Press Windows key plus letter U, type alt + N.

To close Narrator press Alt + tab until you switch to the narrator window
then hit alt + f4. Press enter on the letter Y and you're done.

Re: [Blind-Computing] narorator

2011-01-05 Thread Andre Williams
What is an entry point for narrator?
The methods I described can be done without a screen reader as they are very
easy and not difficult to remember if jaws goes out for the Nth time.
Regarding your Eloquence problem, if its jaws related, I say save yourself
the time and hassle of writing this list or other lists and simply call FS.
Believe me, calling them for whatever pops up will make you begin as you're
getting your $1000 worth.

Do you know how I can get elloquence as
an option?
Thanks,

By default Windows 7, and possibly other windows operating systems will not
allow you to use the Windows key to define a hotkey. You are limited to
control +alt, control + shift, and Alt + shift keyboard combinations.

No, Windows-N will not launch Narrator. If you want to launch it with one
keystroke, you have to create a hot key. It's really no big deal.

if your using windows7,
from the edit box, type nar,
the narrator will show, press applications key, arrow to send to and then

however be careful, remembering if you have NVDA it's set to alt+ctrl+n,

Yvonne,
Could you not create two differnt signatures and then when in a message
choose to insert the signature of your choice? I know it would take a little
getting use to, remembering to select the signature prior to sending, but
maybe that would be a work around if it is not doable in the way you are
wanting to accomplish it. HTH
