Re: [Blind-Computing] re sending messages with attachments

2011-04-13 Thread Mike & Barbara in Arcadia
Hi Stewart;

I don't know where you are finding the " Send Mail submenu " but, if you are
referring to the " Send To submenu ", found in the context menu, then here
is what I do to send an attachment from outside of Outlook Express.

1. Let's say you want to send a file to someone from My Documents. Open the
My Documents folder and highlight the file you want to send.

2. With the file highlighted, press the applications / context menu key.

3. Arrow down to the " Send To " option & press enter.

4. Now, arrow down to " Mail Recipient " & press enter. Upon pressing enter
on Mail Recipient, an email will open. This email has the file attached to
it & all you need to do is fill in to whom you would like to send the email
to, tab to the edit field, add a message if you would like, & send.

If you are having a different problem, please explain in more detail! Hope
this helps. Take care.

Mike

[Blind-Computing] Band-in-a-Box Featured on Viewpoints

2011-04-13 Thread Peter Torpey
The most recent episode of our weekly, half hour radio show / podcast on
living with low vision, ViewPoints, features Band-in-a-Box. We demonstrate
a few of the nifty features of Band-in-a-Box and discuss other topics that
might be of interest to some on this list.

You can learn more about this podcast and find links for downloading or
listening to the show at the URL:

www.viewpoints.torpey.info

the show featuring Band-in-a-Box is described below:

ViewPoints 1115 4-13-11
The theme of this week's show is music. Since visually impaired people pay
more attention to what they hear, it's no surprise that there are a lot of
blind musicians. We'll talk about reading, learning and playing music
yourself, using Band-in-a-Box to arrange and produce music and using your
computer to play recorded and broadcast music.

Other shows have discussed and demonstrated JAWS, NVDA, SAToGo, refreshable
braille, sources of accessible reading material, Audacity, etc.

Enjoy, and please pass along this info as you feel fit.

[Blind-Computing] internet explorer nine

2011-04-13 Thread kimsan
Now I was making some modifications of settings last night with IE 9 and I
came across something I don't recall seeing in IE8, so was wondering if it
is anything new? Lol, let me actuallly point out what I am talking about.

Tools, internet options, advance, browse and the option was go to an
internet sight for a single word entry in the address bar.

I'm guessing if you typed in news in the address bar, sights you have on
your favorites or history relating to news will pop up or it might pop up
several news sites? I'm not sure so someone can chime in an school me on
this.

Thanks.

Hi
Well, I was running the test version and updated to the full version

requires me to use the JAWS cursor to access certain features like

hope JAWS will address these issues so I can upgrade in the near future! I

Hello group,
I have read bits and pieces about Explorer 9 but I'm still not sure
whether it would or wouldn't be a good idea to load it. In fact, there have
been confusing and conflicting messages on the subject here on this list.
I'm reasonably sure that if I hate it, I can uninstall and go back to
Explorer 8 but before I go through all of that trouble, has anyone drawn a
detailed comparison of how each of these versions works with jaws?
for now, I'm going to chicken out and avoid loading it even though my

Any thoughtful input would be welcome.

Hi
To revert back to IE 8, one needs to uninstall IE 9. As part of the
uninstallation process you will be asked if you want to go back to IE 8. The
trouble as I recall was that in order to uninstall IE 9 I had to find it in
the programs list in the control panel. It was one of the hidden updates.
 I hope this helps.

I currently own an upgraded Win 7 box with 32 bit OS, which was formerly XP. I

If I replace the 2 512 mb with 2 1 gb sticks, will I be wasting my money? That
