[Blind-Computing] Braille displays and notetakers
Hi all, I am using Jaws 12. I am now developing good Braille skills. Can anybody recommend a site for buying used items? The new products are prohibitively expensive. Niam PS I am in the UK. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
[Blind-Computing] Closing Skhype
Anyone found a way to actually close Skype 5.3? I see no settings that allow it to toggle minimize/Close when closing. Some programs will give an option to minimize when Alt F4 or Close in the system menu. Perhaps I just need to go back to 5.2 ? Brad On 7/26/2011 05:39 AM Niamh said... Hi all, I am using Jaws 12. Re: [Blind-Computing] Closing Skhype
Ok thanks. I'm less than a week in Win7 and getting use to the navigation changes, at least how I was habitually getting around. Insert F11 has a lot less stuff in it now and things have been moved to the task bar which I rarely used before. I see it'll be my friend now :). Brad On 7/26/2011 09:10 AM David said... [Blind-Computing] Scripts with JAWS portable version:
Hello friends: How to add scripts to JAWS portable version? In desktop version we do paste the script files into explore my settings directory. But in portable version how to do this? Re: [Blind-Computing] task bar
Yvonne The easiest way would be to do Windows Key + M to put you on the desktop then tab twice and you will be on the taskbar - if you tab again you will be in the system tray and it will then cycle through - start button - task bar - system tray - desktop. Re: [Blind-Computing] Scripts with JAWS portable version:
You will have to manually input your script files into the script directory. For an English version of jaws, the script directory is X:\jawsXX\settings\enu where :\ is the drive letter of the drive you have your portable jaws on and jawsXX is the jaws version number. This is the folder hierarchy jaws used to come in prior to version 6.x. There are no user specific script folders but only one script directory. hth Doris At 12:14 PM 7/26/2011, you wrote: Hello friends: How to add scripts to JAWS portable version? Re: [Blind-Computing] Closing Skhype
Hi,Brad, Try if alt+shift+f4(twice quickly) will still exit skype. The above hotkey was in the skype scripts a while back when the system tray was not accessible to screenreaders. Otherwise you can always shut skype from task manager (ctrl+shift+escape to bring up task manager) I am not sure, though, what your question has to do with the mesage you quote. Take care ...
